This is a small grooming shop with 1 groomer. He is so good at grooming though it is worth the extra time the groom takes. My Standard Poodle has been getting so many compliments around town and at our dog sports Dock Diving competition. We love Bark Avenue. We moved to the area a year ago and tried 3 different places to get our mini poodle groomed. Mostly to see which places provided the best haircut and value. This place won hands down. They are friendly and make sure to send a text reminder a day or so before the appointment. They also text you when the pooch has finished being pampered. For a dog groomer, it's pretty clean. The dogs all seem well cared for. Knox always comes home handsome and smelling amazing. I like their holiday spa specials. $12 bucks for several extras including teeth care and nail trim/file. We have to take Knox, because of his breed, every month or so. A full groom runs us about $75. It's not cheap but it's worth it considering the less competent places aren't much less expensive. read more

*** LACK OF COMMUNICATION *** Let me start of by saying we've used Bark Avenue for years. Today, I went in to drop off both of my dogs. I was told by the young lady (not her fault) that their records reflected my dogs vaccines were out of date. My dogs vaccines are current and up to date. I asked the young lady what they had on their records, she advised me they're records reflected January of 2020. It should be noted, I've used Bark Avenue at minimum 10 times since January of 2020. Shortly after, she gets on the phone with her boss who tells her to not take my dogs (respectable) however, she tells me she has to charge me a $25 fee per dog! For a lack of miscommunication on their end. What's right is right if this owner truly cares about her clientele she should definitely reconsider charging people fees for their mistakes. A suggestion would be documenting events. Bark Avenue is a great place nonetheless I will find a new groomer here in town. You've lost a loyal customer over $50 bucks that I would of tipped your groomers. read more

So I'm a stocktonian and I've hit quite a few spots here in town to find someone who can groom my pom teddy bear style. NO ONE has managed to do it even close to right. Always too blunt around her face. I thought it wouldn't hurt to try Bark Ave after seeing their pictures of their cuts. They did AMAZING. Like wow amazing. They managed to tame my lil lioness back to her teddy bear self and she looks splendid! I have found my new go-to salon and already can't wait to take her back in. I've been bringing my mini schnauzer here for about a year now with no complaints and I've decided to stop bringing my dog to this groomer. The last two times i 've brought my dog the haircut just seemed a little careless. Schnauzers have specific haircuts because they have beards, "skirts", and eyebrows. I have taken my Yorkie & Chihuahua to Bark Avenue since they opened their doors! I absolutely love Nefty and Maricela! Before Bark Avenue opened I could not find a groomer in town that could do a good job on my Yorkie's cut! I took my Yorkie to Bark Avenue and showed them a picture of how I wanted inhospitable hair cut "No Problem" yet I had heard that at several places in town! Well when Nefty said it she meant it! When we got our Chihuahua she is scared of new people, Nefty & Maricela take their time with her so that's it is not so scary and nerve wrecking! Made an appointment for our Cavalier based off the good reviews. When we brought her in for her appointment, the person told us we needed her immunization records, which was never mentioned when we scheduled the appointment. They called our vet to verify then gave us a hard time about her not having bordatella even though we never board her. We explained what type of cut we wanted and left her for a couple hours. We called back and were told she'd be ready in 30 minutes so we headed over and got there 30 minutes later. When opening the door, the lady yelled out saying she wasn't ready and that we need to leave. There was no need to be so rude, and why are there chairs in a waiting area if they don't want people to wait inside? Once she brought out our dog, we immediately noticed something was wrong. The groomer didn't blend anything in the back of her head and it looks almost like a bowl cut. When we asked about it, the lady said it was supposed to be like that, which is BS, no haircut should look like that. We couldn't stay and argue for her to fix it because we had to leave to pick up our daughter from school. All in all, we are very disappointed and will not be returning to pay $65 for a haircut that look worse than something I could do on my own. read more

I don't like writing bad reviews, but this place is awful in their way of treating their customers. We stopped coming here for half a year because they were just so rude. We decided to give it a chance again about a month ago giving them the benefit of the doubt that we just had a bad experience. We went back and the owner started berating my wife when we went to go pick up our dog. She assumed we took our dog to a cheaper place and now we regret it. She then goes on and start saying we shouldn't go to cheaper places if we cared about our dog. First off, let me just say this place actually does a good job with dogs. However, their way of communicating with their customers are awful. I wouldn't come here even if their service was free. I don't understand how this place is still in business based on our experience. The reason why we stopped coming here in the first place was because the young girl that was working the desk had a miscommunication with the owner. We told the young girl we needed to pick up our dog at 3pm. We showed up, and our dog wasn't done. We had to go so we ended up just picking up the dog. While we were expressing our concerns on why our dog wasn't done because they promised we could pick up our dog at 3pm, the young girl tells the owner while we were still there, and she said we were lying. I was having trouble finding a good groomer in the area for my husky puppy and I happened to pass by Bark Avenue one time. I decided to step in and asked if I could schedule an appointment and they were able to take me the same day :) Nefty was very nice and patient with my questions and I really liked that she also speaks Spanish :) . They treated my dog very well, they didn't take that long, she looked super clean, her fur was super silky and smelled really good. *Wow, my pet and I were just banned today from coming to Bark Ave Tracy CA. Per the owner/manager it was because I had canceled two visits back in 2019. According to the owner "they don't do business with customers like myself who do such things". I was incredulous because in the past I have had a pleasant rapport with this business and it was a mutual consideration coming from both parties. The owner basically banned me from ever coming again and practically pushed me and my small pet to go elsewhere and use other grooming businesses besides theirs. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This business is practically refusing revenue from me because of something that occurred two years ago prior to the pandemic. In running a business there is such a thing as forgiveness and customer service and courtesy. This owner just won't have it. I accepted her decision because she had all the right to refuse service. I can and will of course bring my pet to be groomed elsewhere and give them the revenue and give them the future profits. I contemplated on whether or not to post my experience on Yelp, but decided that I should to warn other potential and current customers on the type of owner/Management and business practice Bark Ave , Tracy provides. I just believe that we should've been given a second chance and that the owner and the business should've understood that at times customers just cannot make their appointments. Emergencies come up, things happen and they should've been more flexible and understanding. Instead I was penalized and banned. The way I was treated, I would not recommend his grooming service to anyone.
