If I could give ZERO stars, I would. The groomer Jasmyne at PetSmart Grooming in Tracy is by far one of the rudest and most arrogant people I've ever come across. Her attitude was disgusting, and the way she spoke to me made it clear she has no respect for pet parents. Please do not send your babies here -- I honestly worry about how they might treat the pets when owners aren't around. I had a 10:30 appointment and even confirmed the day before, asking them to note that I would arrive closer to 10:45 because of a doctor's appointment. The person on the phone said yes, but clearly never bothered to make a note. At 10:35 I got a call accusing me of being late, and Jasmyne made it very clear that if I wasn't there by 10:45, they wouldn't take my dog. At exactly 10:45, I got an email saying my appointment was canceled. I rushed, arrived at 10:48 -- just THREE minutes later -- and Jasmyne flat out refused to take my dog in, with a nasty attitude to my face. This is NOT how you treat paying customers or their pets. Absolutely unprofessional and heartless. I will never bring my dog here again and strongly warn every pet parent -- stay far away from Jasmyne and PetSmart Grooming in Tracy. read more

I go here primarily because it's the closest pet shop with fish. My last visit I was a little taken a back by the employee that helped me in the fish area. I wanted octocinclus catfish. I said I wanted octo catfish and she said that they weren't catfish but were sucker fish. Not sure if she was a new employee or not but I've had, up until now, employees more knowledgeable and more accurate in telling me what things are. The 3 stars is for this employee. I took my dog for grooming last month. They said he was nippy and I should consult my "trainer." He's a Maltipoo. But they were able to brush his teeth. Huh? I tried again 1/26/25. Dropped him off and they called back and said he had a sore on foot so they couldn't groom him. I'm at the vet as I type this. The vet said it was ridiculous that they didn't groom him because the problem with the foot was matted hair noooo oozing. Petsmart needs some younger enthused groomers. Very unprofessional staff at grooming section. Went yesterday for my bichon frise pup haircut. Was told that it will be 100$ for him even tho the basic price is 60$. Totally understandable and accepted the price. They called me after 3 hours if service that said, " Please pick your puppy, he's been tough and moving a lot while haircut. So we have to pause the service and pick him up as soon as possible". I went there, my puppy was shaved from top to bottom. 2 Questions from my side : First:- He got four haircuts prior to this visit from petco and one from petsmart Dublin, they never claimed that my puppy was tough. This review is for the Pawsitively Bissell carpet cleaner rental process with staff and manager. Came in @ 9 am and was helped very quickly. Explained the rental process, matched prices and away I was to the house to clean my carpets. I am very impressed with the portability of the bissell and the functionality of this machine! It was easily to set up. Literally plug in, add hot water with the liquid and your done. Cleaning up was a breeze. The best part was it actually cleaned and sucked off the liquids and stains. Carpet was NOT left wet soggy and no after smells of mold. Carpets dried in 1-2 hours. I definitely will be renting one of these machines in the future! read more

Team lead Lydia was rude and unprofessional. The other reviews that says the same thing is very true! I asked for a LITTLE bit of hair to be left for my puppy to have a ponytail, they didn't even touch her head at all! Also, the same team lead lied and said my puppy's hair was matted and had to charge and additional 40 bucks even though she was able to brush right through her hair with no problems. I'll be going to camp bow wow in Tracy going forward, they actually care about the pets and are professional. Don't waste your time going here! read more

The store: I love the variety they have here. It is always clean and the people here are pretty friendly! It's always easy bringing my dogs here, they have carts outside to easily grab. I love their little station with dog waste bags, too, in the parking lot. The training: Sue is great. She was so sweet with our little ones. They were timid and would not participate at first, but now at home they are doing things they were not able to do before! They still need practice, since they are older and forgetful, but all is good. I love how Sue socializes the dogs and taught us how to relax more with our dogs. The grooming department is very rude and aggressive with dogs. They give you attitude if you're 5 min late, they aggressively put their blue leash on my dog, not paying attention, got it wrapped around my dogs leg -almost tripping him and frightened him. I have socialized my dog pretty well ( he's a small maltipoo) but he was too frightened and scared and we ended up leaving. Time to find another groomer. read more

I strongly recommend that you do NOT take your pet here to the pet groomers, unless you know you will be ok with groomers who will abuse and cut your dog and then will tell you that they are sorry that you are "disappointed" with the results. I had my half poodle mix sent to the groomers here mid January, who had just been groomed and shaved in September, to get a touch up. They literally shaved him down to nothing in the middle of January when there is a storm outside, EVEN WITH specific WRITTEN instructions when booking NOT to shave him. Completely unnecessary, not to mention downright abusive, when my dog shows up completely shaved with multiple cuts on his ears and paws. And to shave down a dog that DOESNT NEED SHAVING in the middle of January when poodles DEPEND on their curly hair for protection of wind and cold. When pressed, Lindy (or a manager with the name that starts with a L) maintained that she told my mom, who dropped him off, that they were to shave him -- my mom says there was no mention of that. Apparently the words used were "we may have to cut his hair short" not that they would "shave" him. Lindy also goes so far as to say that she was doing the humane thing and not causing the dog pain by shaving him instead of brushing him, when SHE AND HER STAFF made several cuts on my dog. She continued that he had to be shaved because he was "matted all over." He was NOT matted all over, matter of fact, I have hundreds of photos to prove that he was not, and there were extremely minor parts of the legs and ears that needed detangling IF that. I easily brushed out his poodle hair at home EVERY DAY. Please see attached photo of before going into the groomers. Lindy had the audacity to tell my mom that he had some "skin issues" on his ears and paws and we needed to take him to the vet, as if they found an issue and was doing us a favor. We didn't know what they meant at first, because they had cleaned up his ears and paws when we picked him up, but later we found him bleeding and with scabs. (Photo attached as well.) Until this January, We have NEVER had ANY dog groomer make cuts on our dog while grooming him. He is well-cared for at home, and PetSmarts Groomers were abusive to my dog. Lindy and Sam had the audacity to complain to my mom, who dropped off my dog, charging her additional for my dog's "aggressive behavior" when he does not EVER bite ANYONE. Honestly, if he did express that he was upset, what animal doesn't express defense when TWO HUMANS GRAB HIM DOWN AND KNICK BOTH OF HIS EARS AND PAWS. I have photos to prove, so dont think you are getting out of this one Sam and Lindy. Shame that I did not see the knicks till the day after I called you both. So here I was, doing all I can to suppress my anger that my dog came back shaved to nothing (I hadn't learned of the injuries by then), and Lindy has the short foresight to give me unsolicited and condescending i-gotta-have-the-last-word-to-this-customer advice I have ever heard, which is "please brush your dog regularly for his health." Lindy (or whatever this manager's name is), probably failed in school getting Cs and Ds to become a terrible dog groomer that she is, but now she is failing at being a dog groomer too. Do NOT take your dog to this horrid place. I had to put antibiotic ointments on my dog's injuries 2-3 times a day for 2-3 weeks for the injury and scab to completely heal. I will NEVER take back my dog to Petsmarts groomers. My dog was in pain, flopping his ears every minute because the knicks were bothering him, and the poor thing couldn't tell me that these people hurt him. SHAME ON PETSMART FOR NOT FIRING THESE GROOMERS. read more

I will be a new dog owner and adopted two beagle puppies that are brother and sister and was over the moon about them until I stumbled across some scary articles online about "litter syndrome." Litter syndrome is described (in the articles) as two puppies from the same litter being raised together and how this can cause awful behavioral issues for the owner and the dogs and that vets and pet behaviorist strictly advise on not getting sibling puppies. I was so stressed out that I made the wrong decision to adopt two sibling puppies and strongly considered turning down one of the puppies or giving one to a loving home :/ I went to PetSmart to look at kennels and Jessica helped us out tremendously. I shared the information I read about litter syndrome and all these awful stories I've read about and she made me feel soooo much better because she shared her very positive experience raising a sister and a brother for a few years and couldn't believe the nasty things I read about raising sibling puppies. She reassured us to not believe everything on the internet and to come talk to the folks at PetSmart which I should have done from the beginning instead of reading articles online that had me scared. Because of meeting Jessica and her sharing her experiences and was extremely knowledgeable about all things puppy, she calmed my nerves and reinforced my decisions to keep both puppies. I was looking for a good groomer as the last one I went to was kind of far. This time I went to Tracy PetSmart. I had read the reviews but thought that was just a one off bad experience. To my surprise it wasn't. My puppy who is a tiny 9 month old yorkie who weighs 5 pounds, came home with three big gashes on his face and neck that looks like they had been covered with something to close them up. I'm disgusted that anyone would do this to any animal. PetSmart needs to get new groomers and needs to make this right. Your groomers were rolling their eyes and frustrated with the dogs they were working on. One poodle was being shaved and kept sitting down and the groomer Emily kept rolling her eyes and sighing. He is a dog. You are a groomer. It is your job to take care of these animals. Not to stress them out and scar them. PetSmart do better. I'm thinking about the pain you caused my baby and how scared he must have been being abused by you. read more

When Petco left Tracy, we lost a great team of groomers. Luckily, I found an amazing new groomer at Diggity Dog. But then she left too! Then I tried Petsmart and I struck gold again. Even though some groomers come and go, I have yet to have a groomer at Petsmart that was not professional, friendly and that my pets felt comfortable with. They have the most flexible appointment times that I have found in town. Prices are fair too! read more

The pets and grooming is the worst at this PetSmart. The Manager is very unprofessional and must not own dogs. Just like humans, dogs have their days. I took my puppy their for grooming and they said he did not sit still and snapped at them when they tried to file down his nails, well maybe just like us humans dog have their good days and bad days! This review is for the Pet Grooming Service Dept. The staff asked me to step out of the room to check my dog since they thought he was being protective over me. The groomer lady probably tried to engage with my dog for a max of 30 seconds, then they all looked at each other and spoke and nodded "no" all together and awkwardly looked at me as they realized I was watching the whole time. So when I walk back into the room they decided that my pup was "non-compliant/aggressive" and they wouldn't even bother trying to groom him. They told me to find a place that can possibly sedate him. I've worked customer service and trust me I have very low expectations because I know what it's like putting up with picky/rude customers. But in this case I honestly felt like their was no effort on their behalf & in addition he has never had an issue in the past with groomers including PetSmart! I think if it's your job to groom pets, at least try to engage with them for a little more. Many of us owners see our dogs like our children & do not appreciate a staff who can't take a few more minutes to try to establish that connection before taking the easy route and not even attempting to work with my pup. read more

Before Petsmart, there was the Tracy Pet Store, which was located on 10th Street. When they went out of business (around the time Petsmart opened), the only place local I could buy supplies for my Tarantula (Fang) was here. They have a pretty good grasp of what works and what doesn't for your pets. In fact, the young fellow from the Tracy Pet Store who sold Fang to me years ago works here now. Besides Fang, we now have a Rabbit (Bubbles) in the house. And when it comes time to buy her supplies, I head to Petsmart for an "all in one" stop and shop. read more

Just left this store and talked to a tall male employee which is an associate or manager (I doubt it) I'm not sure. He was trying to conversate with me and I told him how everytime I come into that store there is this old white lady that gives me dirty looks and NEVER greets me but I have seen her do it to the rest of the customers including my husband (which is white). I am not playing the race card and I do not overreact but this lady doesn't like me for no apparent reason. She made my checkout so awkward and was giving weird looks to me. I just honestly think she does not like Asians. The male employee told me sorry I feel that way and NO, it's not me feeling a certain way. It's FACTS, EVERYTIME I come in and she's there I get the same rude/uncomfortable treatment. Don't try to defend for your employee when they are clearly not right and get off your high horse if you really are a manager, it's just PetSmart buddy.
