Bey enjoying the day with Andy and her new dog friend Cooper!
    Jane M.

My pup loves Andy! She's always excited to see him and his dogs. Andy takes great care of her - she gets tons of outside park time, which is great. He also picks her up and drops her off, which is so convenient. On top of that Andy knows so much about dog behavior and has done a great job socializing many dogs in his care that were previously scared or leash aggressive. He has the touch! Plus, he's a super nice guy!

I know that whenever I'm away, Domo's having a nice little vacation of his own with Andy :)

I moved to downtown Seattle in October, and my already socially anxious and hyperactive dog's undesirable behaviors got even worse -- he developed leash aggression and general growliness around other dogs. While I know he's actually a big chicken, he does have a pretty intimidating bark, so I decided to look for a sitter I could trust to help him with these issues. Domo instantly took to Andy, and I'm happy to know that he has a home base here with plenty of other dogs to hang around and a human who actually cares about their well being. He's also super accommodating of my schedule and I appreciate the general flexibility. My dog is a shiba mix, so he'll always be some level of stubborn and naughty, but Andy brings out his better side, and I notice small improvements in his behavior every time I've left him there for a couple of days. Apart from my close friends here, there is no one else I'll trust more with my boy! Thanks Andy :)

    Andy with our beloved problem-pooch!

All of my dogs that have attended classes here now have a stronger bond with me, listen great, and my reactive pup is leaps and bounds better than he was when we began. If you are looking to build a life-long bond with your dog through training and proper handling backed by real, current science, without using pain or negative training methods, and want to see positive and life-changing results, choose Happy Dog!

I gained a solid foundation with positive reinforcement training that set us up for success. I've also worked with Emma with a rescue dog who had major fear and aggression issues. I found Emma to be very knowledgeable and appreciated the advice and insight she gave us and the program she put us on. Don't expect them to train your dog for you, that's not something that any trainer can do unless you're prepared to essentially hire them as a part time employee for an extended period of time. Dog training takes time and consistency. Do expect them to set you up to be able to put in the time working with your dog, use positive reinforcement methods that are proven to help animal minds learn better than stressful punishment based methods (not to say I don't believe there's never a time to reprimand a dog for bad behavior, just saying reprimands don't help anyone learn good behavior which is the purpose of training) and answer your questions. I look forward to working with them in the future!

I have seen nervous owners become so confident with themselves and their dogs. Many of these transformations happened within a few classes so it was amazing to watch it. At the facilities, she has strict rules about keeping your distance (before Covid, it was so that the dogs would be under owner control and not get into trouble. During this pandemic, she also has strict recommendations for keeping humans and dogs socially distant). During a recent Kennel cough outbreak in 3 counties, she thoroughly cleaned her facilities and grounds so as to not bring illness to any dog.

He…read moreteaches owners to use negative reinforcement which is scientifically the LEAST effective training tactic out there. Both dogs are extremely reactive to new people entering the owners home, to the point of fear from guests, and needing to put them away and use straight up animal abuse tactics to "correct" them (taught by the trainer). One friend uses a prong coller (used to cause pain when dogs pull on the leash) in the home to correct them when barking at visitors by pulling up (HARD) on it to cause pain. Another owner was told to CHOKE their dog when aggressive behavior was shown. This dog bit my husband and put him in the hospital, and if this person wasn't a friend we would have wanted the dog to be put down as this dog is EXTREMELY aggressive, and this training hasn't even kind of helped. Unless you want your dog to react and act aggressively to anyone but you, take them to someone who teaches positive reinforcement, which is good for bonding and creating positive interaction, even in situations that cause stress on the dog, you can create a positive experience and make them less aggressive with a different trainer. This guy clearly isn't it, based on the dogs I've met that he has "trained" (one was even trained since she was a puppy, the other started training after aggressive behavior had already started)
