Our 15 year old greyhound, NFL Steph, who was our beautiful, black beauty for 11+ years, becoming, over time, unable to jump into our vehicle for walks or for medical treatment, or to allow us to assist her in doing so. We were very fortunate to learn that the Animal Medical Hospital at Glenwood offered home visits by such knowledgable and compassionate doctors such as Dr. Amy Wysocki, Dr. Erika Watkins and most recently, Dr. Adrianna Sniezek. Dr. Adrianna and Emily came to our home this past Tuesday to help our beloved, rescue racer, Steph, transition to that doggy playground in the sky, who has been suffering with legs that no longer supported her or kept her from falling over; great difficulty in even trying to settle down on her many pillows; and an inability to maintain her weight, as she wasted away into black skin covered ribs, protruding hip bones and an alligator spine. She had become completely incontinent, even though my wife took her out day and night ever 3 hours to relieve herself. The compassionate service that Dr. Adrianna and Emily offered was so comforting to Steph and to us, as they talked us through the procedures that they were going to administer: the medication to make her relax, relieve any pain and finally to pass away. It felt, to my wife and i, as if we were witnessing a human hospice passing. So professional and respectful and comforting to our beloved 4-legged baby, and to my wife and i, as Steph passed peacefully away in the familiar and confomforting surroundings of our home. We could not have asked for better medical treatment, even from a medical practitioner for humans.

When I corrected her she argues with me and said his chart said he was female. I pointed out that he was neutered and she hung up. Out normal appointment is wash, cut, and blow with a mani/pedi. It takes a full two hours - sometimes a bit longer to complete a Standard Poodle. Normally, we specify details of our poodle cuts. The most recent time however, we asked Audrey to style what she thought best. The result was gorgeous - something we'd not have thought of. She is an artist. Audrey takes only one dog at a time, so she's completely focused on each. The studio is located in her home's lower level with professional equipment and always clean. She likes the color purple. Audrey has her own dogs and is obviously a dog lover. This, IMO, is a characteristic that sets her apart from other groomers who do the work mechanically on a supervised deadline. TIP: Reserve an appointment ASAP. Audry's appointments are normally booked weeks in advance. ADVICE: Do not let your dog free roam the fenced backyard. One of the sheds is a chicken coop that gets our poodles super excited. The chickens definitely do not like barking and jumping dogs at their chicken wire fence.

I booked and waited to be able to chat through options that were available for my pup.  As many do, I work in an office setting, I waited for the call to come in which was minutes late (3 minutes if we're looking for details, 11:48 AM) I quickly listened to Karen's message and immediately called back (within 3 minutes of the missed call). There was no answer.  Within 5 minutes I'd also sent a follow up email explaining that I was still available and eager to discuss my pet, no response. Ever.  I should note, the message noted that I'm outside of her service area. Her website advertises D.C. training opportunities, lists an address in Mount Airy, where I'm from and where my family resides, I can work remotely from anywhere and can easily be available no matter where she requested to meet.  She also advertises boarding and training packages on the website which sparked my initial interest.  My family owned and a well known local kennel in the area for more than 30 years, I love the setting of Mullinex Mill Road (which is rural) and I thought it would be a better setting for my dog's training than some other businesses located in busier settings.  Put simply: I specifically sought out this trainer for their location.   After calling late for our scheduled consultation and no follow up in spite of a follow up email and phone call(and message) from me I'm bummed.  My family has owned and operated two local small businesses. We worked with Karen for 8 sessions over the past 6 months and we have seen a tremendous amount of improvement. The first time Karen met Sammi, she immediately noticed her high anxiety and she explained how this attributes to her aggression and reactivity. She showed us step-by-step methods to teach Sammi to be more relaxed and less anxious. It's incredible how much her anxiety has improved since we first started. As Karen explained to us in the beginning, this is a slow and steady process and we still have much more progress to make with Sammi. But we have all the tools and knowledge we need to allow her to succeed. This type of training is not quick and easy - it is important to do the work and stay consistent, but it is so worth it!! It truly does work! We have a much better relationship with Sammi and we're so grateful to Karen!

We dropped her there on Friday morning and tried calling them over the weekend to check on our dog as she had separation anxiety issues. The people kept transferring us to the voicemail and and didn't even mention that the person who is responsible to answer phone calls is out of office for the weekend. We tried tell the people we just want to make sure our dog is okay. We were very close to go back on Monday and take are dog back as this was very unprofessional and not the communication we wanted. Someone from their office called us back on Monday and apologized and told us that our puppy was okay. After 2 weeks when we went to pick our dog, the trainer who handed over our dog didn't know how to show us her training. Our dog did not learn anything and MOST IMPORTANTLY THEY GAVE HER BACK TO US WITH A BAD DIAREAHA AND WITH HER VOICE GONE. They didn't even give us a heads up about her condition . Andrew W. called us and we explained him everything and told him how disappointed we were. We still wanted to give this place another chance. At the time of the call Andrew seemed apologetic. Andrew asked for videos of our dog's response to the commands they taught her so that he can come up with a plan. We did as he asked and provided him with videos he requested. Its January and we never heard back from him or anyone from CTC. There hasn't been a follow up or any attempts to reach us. None of which told me that his mounting issue with other dogs was something that could not be trained and would NOT be addressed during training. I made it very clear this was a strong issue for me because he wasn't allowed back at daycare because of it. When we picked him up and asked about it, that is when we learned that it was not addressed and couldn't be trained out of him. At pick up my dog was clearly exhausted. Obviously they had worked him hard before we got there. Even still, he didn't listen to Andrew and heel properly. He kept trying to come back to my car even though Andrew said he wouldn't recognize it. Or he would refuse to lay down to the point he was yanking the leash down hard to get him on the hot pavement. Definitely not a dog you would expect to have been trained for 2 weeks for over $2k for the basics. From the beginning my dog has always been calm around other dogs. He is no longer that way. Since getting him back he lunges at other dogs. He suddenly is terrified of loud noises when he wasn't before/ The ecollar training is not building a bond, in fact I feel like it is breaking the bond between me and my dog. Due to Covid we had to do pickup from our car and watch as Andrew did his demonstration with our dog. We were on our bluetooth while he talked to us from his phone. Social distancing can still happen from one end of the driveway to the other and still see if we're doing the directions properly. Instead we were sent home without any directions, just videos from his website. Which he told us when we were there that he has since changed some of the methods he trains with from those methods. He doesn't use the button at the times he used to in the videos so if you follow only the videos you're using it too much. My first email was a response to Andrew's only email to me asking how he was where I immediately said good but I was having trouble with heel. He never responded. I waited and a week later started sending messages about how upset I was that my dog was not trained. Finally Andrew responded with an at home training where he said my dog actually had to start with a step BEFORE heel. Where I need to constantly put treats in front of his face. This too hasn't worked and I haven't heard from him since that training, a month ago. I have followed his training methods without any results and will go to another trainer.

Now it's complete radio silence, and my carriers have still not been returned despite multiple follow-ups and even offering to accept replacements. Very slow communication, no accountability, and refusal to resolve a simple issue. I do not recommend this company.
