I originally found Barkers Pet Care on Yelp and appreciated their positive ratings. After interviewing multiple dog walkers, I determined that Bernard was going to be the best: he showed up w a list of over 20 references which was impressive. I've been utilizing them for a little over 6 months. The owner, Bernard Barker, is truly an animal lover. He's punctual, reliable, professional, and most important he is friendly. My pug Murphy is ecstatic when Bernard comes to play & walk him; I've even notified a difference in Murphy walking better on his lead/leash, thanks to Bernard. I work long hours and hate to crate my dog for long periods of time and Bernard is very flexible and always willing to help last minute if needed. I feel comfortable having Bernard in my home when I am not there, which was a huge factor for me when I interviewed potential dog walkers. Bernard has also gone above and beyond with his walking services & has given Murphy a new collar and even a harness. She walks them, plays with them, and sends me a photo during each visit so I can see for myself that they are well! I contacted Bakers Pet Care last minute to come and watch my dog. I was very nervous as I had never used a service like this and was not sure how it would all even work. Not only did they accommodate to my last minute request, they made me feel comfortable and confident leaving my dog in their care (and home). We used Barkers Pet Care recently to take care of our two dogs while we were on vacation. Initially Bernard and Kathy came by our home to meet with us and to have our dogs get accustomed to them. Our dogs took to them right away and it was clear that Bernard and Kathy love dogs because our dogs felt comfortable with them right from the start. Bernard and/or Kathy came to our house three times daily and took the dogs for a walk, gave them their medicines, feed them, and let them play in the yard. During the vacation, Bernard and Kathy texted us pictures of the dogs daily and sent text messages updating us on the dogs' condition. We were surprised as to how well the dogs looked because normally they can get high strung and nervous when not with us. When we got back from vacation, the dogs were in good health, happy and clearly were well taken care of. Normally when we board our dogs during our vacations, they are stressed out when we pick them up from the boarding facility. Not this time, they were rested, well-exercised and content.
