Destiny and her sister, are the best. My dog, Izzy, just loves the girls. She goes in gets settled and she know she is getting a bath and clipped. Never have a problem with the girls. My son's has been taking his dog in since his first haircut, and he is now 12 years old and Destiny is his only groomer. That says alot of the staff. Also didn't help when you enter with a doodle dog and hear one of the Groomer say "it's all of these fucking doodles " Then for the closer - horrible attitude and customer service. I happened in here thinking they may have a do it yourself dog wash, and while they didn't, they fit in my big Golden Retriever in on the spot. He just needed a bath for a family get together and Liz was so great with him. She took her time and washed, blow dried and brushed him. He even laid his head on her shoulder while blow drying him so he knew she was taking care of him. He even left with a new shark bandana! I won't be back. Did an ok haircut, however she let my girl out before I paid & I didn't take her collar in so if someone would have opened the door she would have gotten out. But what was really rude was I didn't have alot to tip, I was short this week. She pointed out thanks for the ____ tip, so I pulled some money out of my pocket that was to pay a bill & gave her more. Little does she know the next time in she would have gotten a nice tip since I didn't give as much as I would have liked. Everyone in ear shot heard her comment. Don't f___n judge you don't know what people are going through. You lost my business an I will make sure everyone I know doesn't go there,for the comment that was inappropriate. I have two doodles, 50 lbs each. One 8 years old who has gold stars is gentleness and patience. The other dog is 2 years old and has a lot of energy but only really struggles with getting her nails cut. Pros: -customer service was great, very professional -the facility was seemingly very clean -at first look, the cuts looked good Cons: - out of the 8 paws from my two dogs THEY CUT EVERY QUICK BUT 3! Meaning they cut the tips of my dogs toes off. And one toe was so short that my dog was showing signs of pain. -NOT JUST RAZOR BURN, BUT CUTS ON THEIR FACE, UNDERARMS, & BELLY. I didn't see any cuts on their buttholes, but one of my dogs had really bad razor burn. I had to put Neosporin on it. -the kennel my dogs were put in were small and made me feel uncomfortable, it was tall enough for them to stand up, but not turn around - pay by cash or check only - my dogs most likely weren't given any water while they were there, they each drank a bowl of water each as soon as they got home read more

I have been to Barking Barbers on two occasions. That was my first mistake....the first time I went I dropped my dog off at 8 am and was told he would be 2-3 hours and I would receive a call when he was done. After 4 hours I called, no answer, 4.5 hours I called, no answer. After 5 hours I went there and they had JUST began to bathe him. The groomer was very disrespectful saying that she was overbooked and I shouldn't have shown up, etc. I went home while they finished, and they finally called me around 4:00 pm to get him (8 full hours after what they told me should have been a 2 -3 hour appt). They did apologize for the delay and for not answering the phone, the price was reasonable and the cut was good, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a busy day and went back.... Today I dropped off my dog at 8:30 am. I was told to return at 12:30 to get him. I let them know to call me if anything should change. When I went to pick him up at 12:30 I was disrespectfully informed that the groomer did not arrive at the shop until 10:00 am despite my 8:30 appt, and had not even begun grooming my dog. The poor thing had been sitting in a crate for 4 hours with no attention paid to him.... Above that, there was no communication to me that he would be late, and a disrespectful attitude when I showed up to get him at the time they told me to. I took him home. I will never return to Barking Barbers and will recommend that others do the same. The low prices are not worth the disrespectful attitude that clients receive, nor the lack of attention paid to your pets while they are there. read more

I called and they said he's almost done, very rude. Went to pick him up and they couldn't find his collar told me they'd call cause the cleaners would find it. Never received a call I had to call back and they said it wasn't found. I asked to be refunded and they refused saying how do they know he even came in with a collar. They called me back 2 mins later saying they found it with no apology for how they treated me during this whole process. I have never been treated this rudely by staff from anywhere. And apparently my dog bit the groomer. I've been taking him to a groomer for years and that has never happened. Makes me wonder what had happened for him to do that. This is a small mom and pop business. I have been bringing my Shih tzu to them for 5 years. They are not fancy, but they do good work. What is important is how my dog is. Jamie has always done a good job and when I pick my dog up, he's my normal dog and does not seem traumatized. I have dropped my dog off and picked him up when he's ready. If I need it to be quick, I tell them ahead of time and I can pick him up when I need to. They are accommodating and work with my schedule. I trust them. Jamie has been there a long time. Its nice to go in and have the same groomer all the time. read more

When asked how much cash i should take out for my dogs to be bathed I was quoted $65 on be phone. I got out $80 -total plus tip. When I got the phone call to pick them up, the employee stated it was $185! When I went in store I tried explaining that was not communicated. The male employee began to harass me and told me he would keep my dogs. I called the police to help mediate the situation. We ended up paying instead of ticketing them for theft and dragging it out. I would not recommend this dog grooming place to my worse enemy. In the beginning, when Destiny worked there and groomed my dog it was ok. I ignore how dirty the place was because I liked how she groomed my dog. Since she walked out and (I could only imagine why) the groomers are rough with the dogs and rude to the customers. The owner sits there and allows this too. Not only have I witnessed this so have others. They no longer go there either. They don't ask for proof of vaccinations, thank God my dog is up on all her shots. All the owner is concerned about is money not your dog. The last time I was there he/she who was supposed to groom my dog said it would be around 12 to 12:30 when she would be ready. My dog's appointment was at 10, I told her she is an in and out dog, she just ignored that. I called at 12:30 and they hadn't even touched my dog I said don't touch her I'm going to pick her up. I get there at 1:00 the owner walks away and the he/she gets mouthy. The owner allows this from his workers to his customers. I now have a mobile dog grooming company that grooms my dog. They SEVERELY gashed my dogs paw and blamed it on my dog!! AND They still charged me! They took 5 hours to groom my dog... then when I picked her up they said she got nicked. I was in a major hurry when I picked my dog up because they took so long. My dog bolted out the door as soon as she could. So I put her in the car right away. It wasn't until I got home that I saw how bad she was bleeding. I had to disinfect and bandage her paw for 3 days. She got blood on my rugs, furniture and bedding. The gash was so large the bleeding took 2 days to stop. My dog has been getting groomed once a month for 12 years. This has NEVER HAPPENED before. To make matters worse I realized that they didn't even complete the groom that they charged me for. They have some young inexperienced groomers learning to groom on our pets. Save your time and money and do NOT take your dogs here!! We had a 9 AM spot for a reason to get him in there and out. Typically it takes no longer than 2 hrs for a grooming. Today it took them over 4 hrs. When I called for a status update Jamie the groomer was rude on the phone and wasn't trying to be apologetic for it taking so long. When I got there, they cut our dog completely wrong. He's uneven in different spots, and they told me next time try an express service instead if I didn't want it to take so long. They wouldn't accept a card which they have in the past, made me go to the closest ATM. They never once apologized or tried to make the issue right. I've had many different dogs for many years and never has it taken four hours to get a dog groomed. Save your money and go somewhere else. It's INHUMANE that they kept the dog locked up for that long when they knew he's a nervous dog. They were rude with the worst customer service. We will NEVER be back. I can't say enough about the outstanding quality of haircuts my boys get. Showroom ready! Every time my boys go for their haircuts, the staff is always attentive to past notes and current needs with no hesitation to put the customer first. All staff at the groomers are always very timely, professional and courteous where I would HIGHLY recommend Sue to everyone who has a dog and loves them. We have 4 dogs altogether, 3 are mine and one is my son's. I know the importance of getting their nails trimmed and my three always have crazy hair and it grows fast. I used to trim them but hurt my back so can't do that anymore. I was driving from Arvada, all the way to Lakewood and the guy was charging $10 each just for their nails and if I asked if he could just trim their bellies, he had a fit. Someone told me about Barking Barbers 5 minutes away and I can't say enough about them. They are good with my babies (who don't go through puberty mind you!). They always practice care in not just walking off with a dog on the table, and they try to get to me as soon as possible knowing I have 4 in the car. I loved this place, they are all fantastic but destiny was our dogs groomer and he was looking like a dreaded homeless mess when I brought him in .She managed to save way more hair than the other places that just wanted to shave our white tiny dog with pink skin down to nothing cuz if the matts. My appointment was made five weeks ago. Not one employee called me to tell me that my groomer was no longer with them. I show up this morning and there's already about four other dogs there. My dog has been there for 4 1/2 hours as I speak. I questioned the amount of time it was taking he's a very small dog with very short hair. The gentleman inside the establishment had no concern about my concern. I feel that it's a very unprofessional and chaotic place. I picked my fur baby up and I was happy with his new hair cut until I noticed him licking himself way more than he normally dose. When I look at his penis it was scabbed up from top to bottom. I'm not sure what happened, but I am horrified and my poor lil guy is very uncomfortable! The groomer didn't say a word about my boy getting cut! I made an appointment for 10am. I explained over the phone that I did not want my dog caged for an excessive amount of time before making this appt. This had happened at the previous groomer and is why I was looking for someone new. When I arrived at 9:50, I was told that they wouldn't even be starting till 12. If you care about your fur babies, don't bring them here. I should have left when we got there but thought it couldn't be so bad based on the other reviews I read. I brought my puppy in for a groom to have a haircut but specified not have him shaved down. 5 hours later my puppy was not ready so we decided to call. They were "having a problem with his head" but did not specify. I was under the assumption that they were just having difficulty so we told them to stop and I would be right there to help hold my antsy puppy in order to finish the grooming. When I got there, he was completely shaved down throughout his body. I was told "I'm sorry I can't make you happy." The ghetto girl that groomed him claimed that he was matted and it was too difficult to comb through it so they had no choice. My dog was NOT matted all over his body and had very few matts under his belly. She was just too lazy to take the time that my dog deserved. It wasn't until after I got home that I noticed that they cut my baby behind his ear and he had razor burn behind his tail. I took him to the vet where he had to have staples put in. I was told he lost enough blood which can cause the skin cells to go dead there. Not only am I furious that I was NOT notified about my dogs injuries, but also their lack of care for an animal. A simple grooming appointment should not take 6 hours. If you're that busy, you shouldn't over book. Dogs deserve better than this. Run far away. Never again. Place is super ghetto. I made an appointment and was told my dog wouldn't be ready for 2-hours. That's unacceptable for a scheduled appointment. My dog was also attacked by their 'grumpy' cat. I noticed my dog's nose was bleeding and I got a weak apology as if this happens all the time. They also don't accept credit cards, only cash or checks. I got a call near the 2-hour mark and was told that they tried their best to furminate my dog, but that they couldn't do as much as they would like.
