When walking into the store everything was great, but a reactive dog entered the store soon after and went after my dog. Later, we went into the self wash and I was told to move my dogs to the same area so another dog could come in. The dog that came in was the reactive dog that went after my dogs just minutes previously. The staff showed no care in the safety of putting my dogs in the same 10x10 room as a reactive dog, that they saw go to attack my dog. The dog was without a mussel, collar, or leash in the grooming area with my dog who they had previously tried to attack with no owner or worker interference. If you care that your dog is not attacked I would not recommend this place for your fur babies. read more

Found this new place up the street and decided to bring in my dog (Pomchi) for some nail clippings, paw trim, and anal glands expressed. They got us signed in right away and the whole session took about 20-25 minutes. I waited and looked around the store for possible new foods for my dog to try. One of the employees offered a trail bag which was very appreciative considering the cost of the organic bags and not knowing if my dog will eat it. We took home the bag and she ate it right up! Surprised since she is a picky eater. Next time I'll pick up some frozen dried food toppers. One down side was, the groomer literally dragged my dog by the leash as she was taking her to the back. I was able to walk with my dog so that she can follow the groomers but at the entrance is when she started getting scared and held back. I get all the dogs that come in have some anxiety and didn't appreciate the dragging part. She was so tiny and was able to be picked up. I'll always give a place a second try and hopefully our next service is a little better on the intake. read more

I had a grooming appointment for my dog last Saturday, and due to a family emergency we had to reschedule it. i was told a 25.00 fee would be applied, to which I did not agree to for the rescheduling. The guy on the phone said they wouldnt charge me. When I dropped my dog off today there was no mention of it. Not until I go there to pick him up. I advised both workers I was told it would not be applied. They supposedly called their manager. the groomer (who I feel bad for in this situation, said she didnt care about the fee) was in the middle of this. When I asked the kid (yes a kid with no tact) behind the counter what I was told ], he kept persisting about the fee. 25.00 is nothing, but when I was told it wouldn't be charged for it, then hold up your end. I get it if it was me rescheduling just to take off out of town, but this was a family emergency, and I feel this is more important than a grooming. I asked the kid about the customer service, his response was the customer service is we dont charge you the fee and not book you again. Is that how you are training your employees, if so, that is pathetic. This was not a customer service experience, and honestly, I would rather take my dog to a low-level groomer from now and then this place ever again. Yes please refrain from here as they dont know what customer service or understand that real world can happen in a instant. A friend of ours referred us to here in the beginnign and now I see why she left. Dont bother with your follow up email saying please call us as that wont rectify this one bit. And then when thw owner responds, which to say is not professional in what ever aspect they live in, goes to show their focus in customer service. When the appointment was booked, there was no mention of a fee, none what so ever. Then the owner responds with insults, and childish like behavior (you can read their response to this original posting. Not even look at the fact there was a emergency, other than its my own fault. Another thing to mention is that I was not at the groomers when I had to cancel and did my due diligence once the emergency was found out and called. Also stating I left the groomer with out paying, as I never would do that. I did pay for the grooming today and their "Fee" and have proof to show that. How about a more centralized response and be civil about instead of insutling people when they leave a review. As for customer service Mr Pete B, I have been in the industry longer than you have been in business, and for claiming to be a small business, this is a situation where you can be more professional about it. Train your employees on tact. Yes you may have hundreds of reviews that are five star, but its the ones ( and I read the bad reviews where you respond negatively to them, which you shouldnt) I do support small businesses, but when you react childishly about this, it can change otheres persepectives. So please dont lie anymore and say I moaned and left without paying, look into the fact there was a truth, it was rescheduled, your employees said would waive the fee, my dog was brought in there and was paid for. The say I am what is exactly is worng with society when you 1.dont know me, and 2nd. cant accept that someone had a negative expereince with your business and felt as tho they should exress that. Lasty, I dont need for you to respond to this as you have shown what type of business you run (see no negative fingers pointed to a person but s business). Lasty for that fee again, there was no mention of it when the original appointment was booked. Which that did not start off well either, but I wont go into that. If I could give negative stars that would be too much. I went to this location on Sunday to pick up some CBD for my dog only because my regular store Bark Avenue was closed. A nice young man helped me find what I needed and rang me up. When he told me how much it was I was shocked that it was $50 double what I pay at my Bark Avenue. I begrudgingly paid it because, hey what we do for our pets. When I got to my car and took a 2nd look at it I realized why I paid so much. My mistake, I grabbed the 500mg instead of the 250mg. I go back into the store andI told the young man I mistakenly grabbed the wrong one, he was fine with me exchanging it. However, there was a young lady also at the register with him. She grabbed what I found out later to be a gift card and I heard the young man telling her not to do it that was and they began whispering so I could no longer hear. She then turns to me and says do you want a gift card or back on your original payment, I told her my original payment. She then gets on the phone and called her mgr. She asked him how she can reverse the gift card. I heard her say do you want to tell her and hands me her phone. He proceeds to tell me they don't offer refunds, I told him I'm not doing a refund but an exchange. Well he says there's not a way to take it off the gift card and put it on your card. Well she should not have assumed I wanted a gift card and then ask me how do I want the difference back. She should have asked the customer what they wanted first. Of course he had an answer for everything but what the Customer wanted. Her empty apology was just making me madder so I just took my original purchase and left. This businesses refund/exchange policy is horrendous so make sure you want what you buy. Check, check and triple check. I will never, ever, ever step into this store or any of their locations again. Bark Avenue is a much better shopping experience. If my little guy wasn't having such a rough time I would have waited the next day for them to be open. read more

We have been avid users of a different self wash place and NEVER AGAIN!! Barking dogs took amazing care of our dogs and were incredibly kind to us. They allowed us to wash both of our dogs in one station at the same time which greatly reduced anxiety. The attendants were available for assistance, extra supplies, and recommendations! Whether it's quoting one price on the phone and trying to charge more upon pickup, or selling your special order to someone else without telling you until you drove 20 miles to the store, or not ordering it, or not calling to let you know it's arrived, or not ordering the correct item...it's always something. Go here if you want your dog carried by the harness or to have patches of fur clipped to the skin. Also, dogs may leave with unexplained eye injuries. In response to the owner: You have sent me nothing, so you probably need to check again. However, I have viewed your footage, and it in no way shows the injury "happened at home." Below is a photo of the dog upon pick up and your manager admitted it was caused by your groomer (hence she provided eye drops). Also, carrying a dog by its harness is an interesting definition of "care" (see screenshot below). Your threats are not going to silence me from warning other customers. read more

We visited family from out of town and were looking for a self dog wash. It is first come first serve and I only saw two stations but we went when it was not busy around 2pm. The workers were really helpful on what they provide and how to utilize their station. From other reviews I've seen on competitor self dog washes, they provide a lot! They provide as many towels as needed, a stand for your dog so you don't have to bend over (we used this), they have 4 shampoo options, solution to wipe eye boogies / clean dog tears stains, robes, rubber brushes, slicker brush, wide tooth comb, and I believe a undercoat rake (although I brought my own brushes). They also have an oil /deshed treatment. Their blower was much needed for us. It is $15.00 for 1 station no time limit unless there are others waiting. We were able to bathe our two smaller dogs in 1 station taking about 30 mins. We grabbed some dog food on our way out and they had brands we usually buy like Primal Raw and Stella and Chewy dog food. read more

Um, what? I don't understand these 4-5 star reviews. Washing. Sure. Grooming. WTF?! They made my goldendoodle look like a raw turkey!! Without my permission. I showed them pics of her grooming before and how they helped the matting and this was shocking. horrible. take your doodle somewhere else. Anywhere else. they went down to the SKIN. This groomer did not want to work, , plain and simple, was lazy and even showed me the same $10 brush she used for matting on Amazon which is worse than the ones we have. Almost $100 to shave my dog? I could have done it myself. And forget the horrible grooming, my dog was not herself for over almost a month! Depressed, clingy. What did you guys do to her?! Ew. No. Gross. Horrible groomers. Still angry and I waited a month to post this. Update: the post below from the owner states flat out lies. No one "save a pelt to show me that it just came off all in one piece" and when they mentioned shaving her down I showed them pictures of what other groomers had done to help with matting and not shave her down to the skin (which was entirely unnecessary). The obviously more experienced and professional groomers left an inch of evened out hair on her so she didn't look like a raw turkey with a lion mane and tail which is what we were expecting when we picked her up since we were very clear what we wanted. If you didn't have the expertise to do it you shouldn't have accepted our business. And my dog is always well-behaved and friendly. Through phone, I ordered some Earth Animal Wisdom brand dog food to be delivered ahead of our family's Christmas visit from California. I wanted to get a jump start on the holiday and ensure consistency in our dog's diet. The employee, Ciara, I believe, was super friendly and assured us that the special order would be ready in a week. A week passed, and Ciara called and let me know that the order hadn't gone through and asked if I wanted to try again. She assured me that the manager would receive the order this time (she didn't really know why the original order hadn't gone through). Ciara showed exceptional attention to customer service. Another week passed and I didn't hear anything about the special order. I got nervous and called to see if I could pick it up. The manager was unapologetic and said that there was an error on the vendor's end and they did not have the pet food in supply. She had not called me to inform me about the outcome. I was very disappointed in this experience. I feel strongly about supporting small businesses; however, Barking Dogs should be honest if they are not able to work with their vendors to fulfill special orders. I had to introduce a new food in my dog's diet and his digestion was negatively affected. I will not be using Barking Dogs when I come into town. read more
