Long story short, I first reached out at 5:15pm on a Wednesday and the roof leak - including tearing out and replacing the affected decking and joist, re-covering everything in the valley properly with rain and ice shield, and re-shingling with new shingles matching the ones the builder installed - was completed less than 48 hours later on Friday early evening. I didn't get a call back from another local, recommended roofer until a week (118 hours) later. Chase also came back on the following Monday after everything dried to make sure everything was sealed properly. But to prove my point about going above and beyond, not limited to simply repairing the impacted section of the roof w/ the leak: 1. As noted earlier, Chase and team were here within 2 hours after my call - which was after-hours already 2. Chase initiated and continued excellent communication, including photo and video documentation, about arrival times and work to be done live 3. His team arrived at the stated time on Friday. Chase was here on-site to continue evaluations and keep me in the loop, and they finished all the work within one day 4. While the team was working, Chase - after requesting permission - climbed all over our roof, removed leaf build up that we hadn't cleared out yet, and inspected all other aspects 5. Chase identified, documented, and repaired issues that could be small now but could be costly later (i.e., nails on one of our porch skylights weren't sealed) - at no additional charge a. He also identified other items would likely be the next things to fail (i.e., boots); offered a reasonable price; and, once agreed-upon, replaced them with proper ones while on-site completing the repair test 6. Everyone was incredibly respectful about our home - everything from minimizing the sawdust from the crawlspace to running the entire backyard area over with a magnetic roller to ensure no nails or other sharp objects were left behind (especially important w/ a kiddo and a dog) Most importantly, they guarantee their work and clearly take pride in doing the right thing - delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service - the first time. With the heavy rains, there was a small leak in the roof near the vent. The original company that I contacted quoted me, their estimate was $1000. I knew the issue was relatively minor and decided to get a second quote. I searched online and after reading through information on some companies and some reviews, I decided to contact Barkley-Jensen. The decision came after reading a review about them coming out to another client and finding a minor issue and fixing it without any charges, since it was so minor. Although 'no cost' sounds great, this was not the driver of the decision for me. It was the honesty, and that is what I was seeking. There is a leak and I am proactive in regard to maintenance, so it needs to fixed right. It turned out that they were available to conduct their free inspection and estimate at the home same day, on the weekend. Ryan came out and quickly identified the issue, there were a couple of places the sealant deteriorated including over the top of a couple of nail holes. They offered to patch things free of charge. The previous homeowners had the roof replaced 4 years ago but cut a number of corners when doing so, including improperly flashing around the chimney. This led to a rather significant leak, for which we were forced to file a claim with our home owners insurance. After the post reparation inspection showed a number of additional issues with the roof, our insurance company threatened nonrenewal of our policy. I had set up 3 estimates for my roof & Chris from Barkley-Jensen is the only 1 that told me that I had damage from a storm the week before. When Chris told me that I had damage I told him that I would call my insurance company & he said we can do it now & I can give them the estimate. We called & I got the check a couple of weeks later. The day they came 2 trucks got here at just after 6:30 that morning & by 6:45 they were on the roof. They spread tarps around my house to catch the old roofing materials & nails. When they were done they had everything cleaned up & in a trailer by 12:30. I was surprised it was so fast but there were 8-10 guys here. A lady came to pick up the trailer later & was surprised that my son helped guide her & hook it up to the truck, she said that had never happened. I was shocked that nobody had ever done that. We had Barkley-Jensen out to the house to replace our gutters. Chase came out to look and give us an estimate. He was very knowledgeable and professional. The estimate was right where it needed to be and we went ahead with the job. The job was schedule extremely quickly for the coming week. The crew was top notch and and had the old gutter off and the new gutters installed in about 4 hours. (We have a single story home). Chase was on site the day of the installation to ensure everything was cover as we had agreed upon. The gutter look great and I would not hesitate to use Chase and Barkley-Jensen again. In fact we have them lined up to replace our shingles in the coming month. I'm sure that it will be a great job as the gutters were and I update or give a new review after the roofing is complete.
