Wasn't impressed with the food. Ordered and PAID EXTRA for brisket and was clearly given pulled pork. The greens were good but for "turkey collard greens" it was lacking the turkey. Baked beans were okay but if you don't like them sweet I'd suggest a different side. Mac and cheese was dry and so was the meat. At least the service was good. Today, my family and I went to the Food Truck Festival at Linvilla Orchards. Of the 20 or so trucks located throughout the property, Barkley's was one of three BBQ trucks, and by far had the longest line of any truck in the whole festival. So it had to be that good if so many others were waiting the 1/2 hour or so for BBQ, right? Well, we were pleased with our food, but not foot stomping, hand slapping, moonshine drinking happy overall. Maybe just a shot. With cool music blasting out of a large speaker, the awesome smells of the charcoal and wood smokers made everyone's senses perk up. The line was long, the wait was palpable, and when we got to order, the very nice staffer was able to answer our questions. We ended up ordering two pulled porks with beans and Mac and cheese, and I had a half rack ribs with yams and beans. The food came quickly and we found a table. The pulled pork was delicious. The Mac and cheese could have been better but I'm sure that one reason it wasn't the best was that they had to prep so much for the several hour festival and everyone wanted it so quality control was not on pointe. It was just ok. The beans were sweet! Literally. Had sugar, honey, cinnamon, they were almost like dessert. My yams were rather good. The big downfall was the ribs. Mine were completely blackened and burnt on one side. I've accidentally made homemade ribs like this when not paying attention to the temperature and time on my grill. They were not fall off the bone meats. They were just not that good and I expected much better. Tough to get through. Maybe I should have just went with the chicken. $70 for the three meals. Wanted to lobe this place as it smelled so good with the smoke billowing from the grill. Not the friendliest of cashiers and the prices were astronomical based on what you get. My pork sandwich with bbq sauce was 1/2 of what I would get elsewhere for the same price. I always want to help the "mom and pops", but not this time. read more

Food had a funk smell to it, the interior of the truck was disheveled at best. For 40 dollars we got glory greens (canned greens for uninitiated,) baked beans that have been drowned in brown sugar and pork that was so wet; I would've needed an entire roll of paper towels to make it edible. We needed to grab a bite at the outlet in Atlantic City, so we decided to try out the food truck. The food was prepared quickly and it was hot. It's better than fast food from a burger joint, but this can't be the best Philly has to offer. My husband said the chicken was ok. The sauce and flavor of the brisket were good, but I don't want my brisket chopped and sitting in a pool of oily liquid in the carton. The sides were ok, as well. I ordered the BBQ ribs platter for delivery, with potato salad and mac & cheese. I was disappointed they were out of cornbread. But I was not disappointed when my food arrived, still warm, and I took my first bite of those ribs. They were soo good! Tender and delicious, with a BBQ sauce i was licking from my fingers. And there was enough food to spread out over two meals. The potato salad was also top notch. Almost as good as my mom makes it. The Mac & cheese was just average. Not cheesy the way I like it. The food was delicious, the service was great, it took about 7 minutes for the food to come out.

Didn't even get to taste the food, but was immediately turned off by the poor customer service of the food truck attendant in NJ. As I approached the truck, she rolled her eyes and pointed to the "closed" sign. She didn't even have the courtesy to speak to me... just pointed to the sign. Would not recommend or ever go back! I just visited their food truck outside of a conference I was attending at temple medical school . I had to order the brisket because they were out of chicken . I also went with the mac & cheese . Brisket was in edible even with this sauce . The meat had a metallic taste ( like iron ) . The mac & cheese was flavorless and literally had a a plastic like consistency . I wouldn't be able to tell you o was eating food if I was blindfolded. The People working seem to be decent people however the food sucked. I basically wasted $13. I was only able to take one bite of each. I didn't want to offend the people that just served me food and had to actively seek out a place in which I could throw away my food items . At the time they were not busy at all, they gave me a number and I sat and waited. I've never once had a bad experience like I had here. The food came out luke warm but the most disappointing thing was they only gave me four bones and one of them was the back part of the Ribs all of the Ribs Bore (All Fout) hardly had any meat on them and was lacking flavor.if I had not waited until I gotten home to look at them I would have taken them back and demanded my money back $24.00. Wow! Delicious food and friendly staff. The best Mac n cheese at 30th Street Station (the challenge is on!). I enjoyed the greens, bbq brisket baked beans (I'd the three veg platter). There was nothing stoic about this choice, it was pure decadence! Work bestie had the pulled pork sammy and two sides - it was delicious and the sammy was HUGE! We both enjoyed our meals. One criticism? They need to offer extra napkins, BBQ is messy - c'mon now ;) I'm not sure how business is going but I think they need to post photos of their delicious options and try giving free samples to get people hyped, it's delicious but eye and taste teasers are needed. read more

Barkley's has officially renewed my faith in the food trucks on the Porch at 30th st. For the past year or so, it's really been hit or miss, but I'd consider Barkley's a grand slam! My favorite aspect of this food truck is the platter options for $12, you get your choice to meat and two generous helpings of side dishes of your choice. The brisket is my go-to. It's very tender and well seasoned. The baked Mac and cheese is also a must. It has just the right amount of cheese to not be overbearing. I also enjoy either the baked beans or the green beans as the second side. Service is always super fast, friendly, and efficient. Even on a crowded day, I never waited more than 5 minutes to get my food. read more

This shop had a food truck at Bonesaw Brewery in Glassboro. Went there thinking that the quality at Bonesaw Brewing would be reflected in the food trucks they invite on to the lot. Wrong! I ordered the barbecued chicken platter, which was probably the worst platter I've ever eaten. The chicken leg quarters were burned and dry, then smothered in barbecue sauce. What appeared to be macaroni and cheese was so pasty that you could use it to mud and tape drywall. And the green beans that came with the platter of leg quarters and two sides, were probably canned green beans with retail store red pepper flakes. All this for $13. If you're at Bonesaw and Barkley's is there, and you're thinking BBQ would be good with brew, then skip the food truck, grab a growler and drive 6 miles west on 322 until you reach David & Sons 322 BBQ, the best barbecue in 13 states. read more

I ordered a 1/2 slab of ribs from their food truck today at Eakins Oval during a black festival. I want to make it clear that I am a white single man that lives in a 99% black neighborhood in W. Philly. I waited 30 minutes for my order and saw AT LEAST A DOZEN ORDERS MADE AFTER MINE GET FILLED. On a chance I tipped which would NEVER have done for this TERRIBLE SERVICE anywhere else. Went to their food truck outside 30th station on my lunch break. The line was kind of long, but the food was ready quickly. The main reason for the 2 stars is the portion size. I ordered the rib platter. I received a small platter with 2 small and 2 extra small ribs and the sides were half full. I feel it wasnt worth the $14. The sides weren't flavorful and the ribs were a tad tough. I did love the spicy sauce and quick service, but that's all. I wont be back. read more

We ordered the wing platter ( comes with 2 sides) we choose Barkley's because of the great smell at the Girard St Festival. The cook asked us how was the food. The wings were great! Good flavors and delicious mac and cheese and greens and yams I've tried the wings they were good but not crunchy enough for fried chicken to my satisfaction and tried pork ribs but they are a little too tough in my opinion.. But everything is fresh. & great flavor But I didn't like the fact they don't tell you it comes with cornbread or white bread or wheat. I called in a order and came to pick up, I asked for cornbread but she said everything was packed and they gave me white bread ?? Then she said I wasn't a regular customer so that's why I didn't and then said if I want I some I can pay extra. The owner is always friendly but the customer service from the window person is unprofessional and hostile. I think I need to find a new favorite place. Ordered from here last night on UberEats and it was delicious!! Got the chicken plate (extra spicy) with mac & cheese, greens & yams. The BBQ sauce is very flavorful!! My favorite item were the yams though! I was super hesitant because they had apples mixed in and I had never had them like that but I'm so happy I went for them!!!! Best I have ever had!!! My only negative is that they forgot to send me the cornbread that came with my meal so I didn't get to try that! Judging from all the other food though, I'm sure the cornbread is great! read more

The best ribs out of Texas and the best barbecue in Philly hands down. I hesitate to post anything about this place because I don't want the lines to get longer, but Tank and the ladies that run this place deserve some recognition. I think I've had everything on the menu and never had anything that wasn't great. Get there early before they run out of ribs, or get there earlier for a pulled pork lunch.
