Update: since I wrote that review (2 weeks ago maybe) I've had multiple nails fall off. I don't work with my hands except typing but I called to complain and whoever answered the phone told me "that's how you know it's time to come back" nope. Went back to spa pointe in Glastonbury. They had to keep clipping of the fill for almost every nail. Will never be back read more

This has been my go to nail salon since before Covid. Each time I go I have a great experience. Gina is my favorite nail tech. The girls at the front desk are sweet and helpful. The other techs are also great. Prices are good, very similar to every where else. It's close and convenient for me to go after work. They always have openings that work with my schedule. This salon is also very clean and well maintained, I recommend this to any gal or guy looking to treat themselves. read more

Great service. Very busy, but still taken care of. Dellina and Gina were great nail techs. The owner/manager was also nice and friendly with everyone in the salon. I hate to do this because it seems like it could be a great place to get your nails done (wouldn't trust until I did though but I don't think I'll be going back), but to get them taken off by Barla... I went the other day to get my dip nail polish removed at an attempt to save my nails from getting destroyed via me picking them off... it was the worst decision to make. My nails are absolutely destroyed. Instead of soaking the dip nail polish off (like I assumed they would do, and I guess I should have clarified even though every other places I've been too and even when looking it up online every salon/nail artist says to SOAK off dip nail polish) ((I specified I had dip nail polish on when I called to make my appointment)) they clipped off the tips, including my natural nail growth, and ripped off my dip nail polish. I had to keep myself from crying in the middle of this salon. Since then 3 of my nails have broken shorter than any length I've had them in a long time and I'll have to wait another month or two until they grow back like normal. I am very upset by this experience. Yes I understand that I could have spoken up, I am not good at in the moment confrontation. I know my nails will grow back, but I wish that I didn't have to wait so long for them to be healthy again. This was my first experience here at Barla Nails. A few of my coworkers have gone here and I absolutely loved the way their nails looked. When I called to make an appointment, I apologized for asking so many questions and she assured me that it was no problem. This manicure cost $40, but it is a lot of work, but it doesn't take much longer than another manicure. I love the results and I hope they last as long as the other people who have gotten this done. Ivy kept a conversation going with me which was really nice and something most salons don't do. Nail tech was pleasant and conversational, booked an appointment for a pedicure for a wedding the next day. Nail tech cut toenail on an angle instead of straight across like you would normally, or to match the left foot. Nail tech, "no one will be looking at your feet anyway" he retorted, they are your nails, I just painted them......totally unprofessional. Will not return. read more

Do not usually go here as I followed Tina to "Nailed It". Went here as a last min thing and I will not go back. Waited about 20 mins after my appt time, which I was ok with, but then the woman who had my nail tech before me had a ton off complaints about her nails and called the manager. I should have left then. I stayed and I noticed some things during the process that made me nervous like the amount of gel she was using seemed way too thick, but then end result looked okay! Well 6 days later almost all my nails lifted at the bottom corners and 2 lifted at the top. It was $63 for that, and i ended up paying another $40 to have them fixed somewhere else. This was my first time visiting this place since they changed from diva nails. The decor is nice inside. Seemed mostly clean but I did not see nail techs wash hands as required by law prior to working on clients. The lady that did my pedicure did a nice job so no complaints there. I didn't catch her name but she was Asian. My complaint is the lack of professionalism. The two guys were wearing baseball caps while working clients and even when not. Head phones were in while doing clients, or checking phone while working on a client. My girl was 100% focused on me and for that I give 5 stars to that particular tech. The receptionist or the one acting as a receptionist was wearing a hoody and jeans. A client called about getting a nail fixed. Albeit the client sounded demanding to the receptionist but still a few of them were very loudly talking about the actual call and about the client and what a pain she is. Another girl was sitting in the pedicure chair soaking her feet. She was at least dressed more professional than the one that was wearing workout clothes! The attitude and dress of the nail techs did not match the decor of the spa. For that I give 1 star. read more
