Very disappointed with my experience at KAP.. I have been a handful of times because they are local and it has been convenient. Not even two weeks ago, I went to have acrylic overlay done which I paid over 60 dollars for. I was not satisfied with the results but being a person who works in the service industry I do my best to be kind and understanding. Fast forward to today, I return to have the acrylic removed so that I can have a private nail technician do my nails to my normal standard. While I am there, again I try to be extremely respectful as this time I have my young child with me. While they did take me about 20 minutes prior to my appointment time which I appreciated, within the duration of my service I was disappointed yet again. I was burnt with the drill a number of times because of the rushed work style which again versus creating conflict, I just sat quietly. Then I notice that the cotton and acetone being used on me was used over and over again throughout the service and some of the cotton was not clean as it contained nail polish on it that was multi colored (which I didn't have.) Mid service a mistake was made and the individual doing my nails had placed down a piece of the wet cotton filled with acetone and it had been caught by the drill and began spinning everywhere spraying acetone in my face and eyes which again I just closed my eyes for a second and understood it was a mistake. The technician apologized and I said don't worry about it and allowed her to proceed. Ultimately, my service was "completed" and I proceed to pay and leave to go on about my day. Mind you, I still left a tip. After I've left, I realize my nails still have acrylic on them so I now cannot have my nails done at my appointment tomorrow and will still have to go purchase acetone to do my best to remove it myself. I paid $22+$3 tip for this experience. Upon this realization, I call the salon back and request a refund because I have now paid for an incomplete service and a not so great experience despite being kind and understanding. The woman who answered the phone denies me my refund, tells me how the technician already spent 40 minutes on my nails and she won't give me a refund. I explain to her that I am unable to return due to needing to go to work and politely request to have the money returned to me. She then proceeds to tell me how it's "only 22 dollars" and if I can't come back then basically oh well. Mind you I am mom and I work for all of the money that I have. So again at this point, it's more about hospitality and the principle than it is the 20 something dollars. Being someone who works in hospitality, I am incredibly disappointed in the treatment I have received here. I will not be returning. read more

Been coming to KAP since 2015. always been happy. went in today and saw Dann. asked for a full set. I asked for a short almond set, and a simple design. Not complicated AT ALL. so as always I paid tipped well and left. got to the car and was looking at my nails. they look horrible! they are not almond shaped at all. they are all different shaped. they are extremely thick. totally disgusting! I called and spoke to P I kindly told her that I wasnt happy and would like to come back and have HER fix them. she yelled and told me why didn't I say anything when I was there. I said I felt bad and rude. she puts Danny on and he starts right away with a additude and again arguing with me. I said could I please just have them soaked off and be refunded? they told me NO and they were too busy to do it. I said tell me please when I can come in and they again said too busy. I said wow that's how you conduct a business and I hung up. I will NEVER go there again or recommend anyone to this shit show of a place. read more

Actually amazing, they painted my daughter's toes and drew beautiful nail art on there. I was skeptical at first because I read other reviews but I was pleasantly surprised to see how wonderful the place was, in my opinion they probably were trying to fake issues because they are extremely professional here. I'm ashamed that i am even giving this business a one star review, there shouldn't even be a salon for me to review it is just so horrible. I have been going every once in a while for the past three years and I have NEVER been happy or even close to satisfied with the results. I wasn't going to even write a review after my last trip but after receiving a pictures of my friends eyebrows i feel that this needed to be shared. I got my nails done from danny (the older one) and i left the salon crying. I told him that i wanted squared nails and he did not even come close to the shape. He was also to busy watching the world cup to paint my nails evenly, i left with nail polish globed on so sloppily that i didn't think i would even be able to fix my nails. Yelp set my previous review as not recommended for some reason, No idea why. My opinion still stands that this place is the best nail salon in Colchester. They are friendly and extremely welcoming. The job they do is amazing, even when they receive ridiculous requests for some difficult design Danny gets it done. I've been here many times, and will definitely come back. read more

I went yesterday for a pedicure. Fastest pedicure I ever had. Barely a 2 minute soak in plain water. Did not cut the nails. Took an emery board to the toenails which took all of 30 seconds to do all 10. A leg massage that was ok but lasted longer than the whole pedicure. Slopped on some polish and sent to the dryer. $28 plus tip. Not worth it. Not sure what happened to this place, new owners perhaps. When I got home I noticed a lot of polish on my skin that he didn't even bother to wipe off. Save your money and go elsewhere. I'll never go back. read more
