Paid for the works, but got the work around... This review is about the touchless option at the Barn carwash. For $17 you are promised a nice hot wax and a good looking, shiny car. What I got was left over residue all over my vehicle from a sub par car wash. Bird poop still on my window. Not really sure when the "hot wax" part comes in. I never saw it. I should have known better, but I didn't and now I'm left with a dirty car and out $17. Don't make my mistake. read more

The regular car wash is great, touchless was recently updated and they made it worse than it was. Don't bother with interior service, waste of money. If you get a monthly pass be prepared to wait 30 minutes for the 24 hour touchless if you try to go prior to the regular wash opening or after closing, making the monthly pass a push on if it's worth it. read more

The only thing that concerned me was that even with my mirrors folded in, the wash was so powerful that it actually unfolded them and pushed them out the other way. Barn Car Wash Saugus, does a great job with getting my car cleaned. I just had my car detailed with Billy- he did an amazing job overnight. I had my car the day of and day after, very little down time. The interior was spotless and my WINDOWS well lets just say I can see clearly now. Updated below** Really disappointed in my recent visit. There was a long wait, which wasn't too bad, but it would be really helpful to put the touch free options and prices on the initial sign with the regular car wash prices. I had to wait until the last second to swap lanes, and it was difficult with as many people as there was. I paid for "The works" which was 17$ and included an undercarriage wash, triple foam and hot wax(no poly sealant option) last Saturday in the afternoon. My car came out cleaner, but hardly fully clean. There were dirt spots remaining all over the car when I left. Will likely visit other locations from now on- much more locations offering a touch free wash at under 15, and the price apparently isn't an indication of quality. I will post pictures I took of my car after to show the spots left- a majority was at the back end and Windows. Update: Stopped by after work. Tried the tunnel instead of the touch free. The tunnel provides a much cleaner wash than the touch free. I met with The Owners son who was very professional in ensuring that I was satisfied with the wash. Great service compared to other washes in the area- monthly pass is the best price if you plan on going frequently. Tunnel is much faster than touch free. read more

They should put up signs at the start of the wash lines to distinguish touch free washes from the regular tunnel washes. The touch free wash was mediocre- but it is a touch free wash so didnt expect much more. read more

EDIT In response to manager response: I appreciate the follow up, however there are a few things that are not accurate within the response. It should not take someone writing a bad review online to make you take the steps you could have in the first place. My wheels were never washed by hand, they were hand sprayed with a tool that sprayed a cleaning solution onto them. After being told my car had possibly suffered break failure I immediately brought my car up the street and got them checked by a mechanic who confirmed that they were fine. Instead of involving a supervisor while I was on site and had a complaint, or trying to resolve the issue I was told I would need to spend more money and run my car through the car wash a few more times to get the wheel clean. I will not be returning, as this could have been promply and professionally handled while I was still there. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got talked into spending an extra $4 by the attendant who promised to make my wheels shine. The treatment did not work and there was grime left all over my tires. When I drove my car back around, the attendant refused to fix the situation and said I would need to run my car through a few more times to get the grime off. So basically he wasted my money and then suggested I spend more money. Very poor customer service for something that could have easily been addressed. Don't waste your money here, much better car wash spots in the area. read more

I have taken my car there for the $29 wash and overnight detailing. On multiple occasions, my car has left with black rubber stains after the $29 wash. In addition, on one occasion they forgot to return the mats to my car. Ironically, this happened again when I warned the gentleman beforehand and also tipped him after the fact. The overnight detailing job was inferior compared with the price tag. but Billy, one of the mangers always appears to be working hard and is very cordial. read more

This car wash is really the gold standard. Both the tunnel and the touch free are the best in their categories. I also use them to do the In and Out special and they really dry the car off nice and do the interior awesome. The people that work there are great as well, and helpful if you have any questions. Only issues I have is that the place gets so busy at times. I guess that's what happens when you have a great place like this that does quality work. I wish they would also open more locations to displace the other car washes, because the competitors in the area really suck bad. read more

I've been to many automatic car washes since living hear in Boston but none can compare to Barn Car Wash. The owner every year updates the machines inside their tunnel. I normally get the "Works" which includes Polish & Wheels (Tires) and I tend to notice the little changes that happen in the tunnel 2009 - First year going there, the tunnel did a good job washing my car. The tunnel dressed the tires with polish to make give it that shiny new look. The Tri-color (Red, Blue, and Yellow) foam polish had that nice bubble gum scent but didn't make it shiny like it claims it did. 2010 - They added a new stage where they had jet-like coarse water blasters from the top and sides. The top blaster is unique that it adjusts to your car's height. They've also added a stage where filtered water flows out like rain that thoroughly washes away the soap to give you the virtually spotless clean look. 2011 to 2012 - In addition to 2010, they upgraded their blowers for drying with additionally powerful system. I believe in 2005 they only had the typical 5 to 6 blower system but they've almost 10 to 12 blowers with this upgrade. The updated system dries my car a lot better than it did before. They got cheap and skimped on the "Yellow" foam 2013 - They've removed the water blaster portion and added a real Simoniz Polish system to replace it. The Simoniz Polish is applied in a bubbly fashion slightly before the filtered water rain bath. Most other car washes such as "Simoniz" in Malden have it mixed into the water and is NOT effective in polishing your car. This actually gives your car the shine like a waxed car does! The reasons for the 4 star rating: Their "Fast-Pass" monthly plans sounds great but you have to commit to 4 months before you can cancel. Their "Fast-Pass" requires a barcoded-sticker somewhere on your car so they can scan it and an RFID sticker tag that goes on your windshield and is not easily removable. I had one prior to replacing my windshield. The installer said he was unable to remove the RFID sticker tag and left an ugly residue near the top of the windshield when the tag was being removed. The obvious one is being cheap on the "tri-color" foam and using only blue and red. So all in all, this place is well kept and maintained. The older reps are nice, the young adults can sometimes be a bit intimidating, but overall great. read more

Downgrading my original review to a 3. After my visit last night, my car was still covered in bird droppings. This was for the "Works" wash, which costs $17. While I understand touchless washes will never get your car as clean as a traditional car wash, this was pretty disappointing. I'll most likely be back, but with lowered expectations. read more

I can't get over the quality of this place ! Stopped on the way back from the airport, saw the funny barn sign and decided why not. The 29 dollar in and out quick detail service is impressive. The wash was fantastic, my wax job sparkled! They actually have a machine that washes and dries your car mats! My Audi A4 S looked hot!! The guys working there are cool and laid back but obviously on their game. I can't wait to try their detailing services which they do at night, pick up your car in the morning. I dropped off my Jeep in the morning for the complete interior and thorough exterior wash. I noticed the place looked very clean. The staff was very friendly. The price was very reasonable and I also learned about other pricing options for regular upkeep. When I returned to pick it up, the guys gave it another inspection and detailed a few more things they could better see in the daylight outside the garage. They were also friendly and knowledgeable about their services. They did a fantastic job and overall, I was very satisfied. This will be my go to place for detailing from now on. read more

This is a great car wash. My bf and I come here all the time and the guys that run the wash always give us a good spray down before we run through the wash. My bf also just got his Dodge Charger ceramic coated here. Bill, who does the detailing work did an AMAZING job. The car is black and literally it is like looking at a mirror, that's how shiny he got it! He does a good job scheduling the coatings for his clients. He doesn't book too far out and he is good about keeping up with the weather, as he doesn't recommend that you leave on a rainy day (to let the coating cure properly). All of their detailing work is done overnight and you pick up the next day. I rarely give out 5-star reviews, but had to do it this time because they took such good care of us. For the record, we have had memberships at other carwashes such as Simoniz in Malden and Randy's in Melrose. We also have been to Route 1 Car Wash in Saugus on several occasions. Those other carwashes are fine, but Barn Car Wash, so far is the best. :) read more

Complete waste of money. Did the touch free $16 "Works" wash that was supposed to include polish, wheels etc. My car came out looking dull and dirty. Ridiculous-total RIPOFF!! This place is appropriately named... it is a Barn-your car will come out almost as dirty as when you came in. read more

As a chauffeur this is the Best car wash around it makes your car spotless and it drives perfectly just a little wipe down afterwards and you are good to go and they have free vacuums with every wash you do you get a token. read more

This is the worst car wash in history. My grandson took his mothers car to be washed and when he came out the rear bumper was torn off! Needless to say, my daughter and myself went to the car wash and tried to talk to the employees that were there and none of them would talk to us or even look at us. And when one of the employees did speak to us he was rude, snapping his fingers in my daughters face and laughing at us. I did manage to get the owners name and telephone number but he was just as rude and uncaring. Take caution when going here as your car may not come out the way it went in. read more

I had my car detailed here a few weeks ago, and am just not having an opportunity to write a proper review... MY CAR LOOKS BRAND NEW! When I called they worked with me on my scheduling constraints and because they do overnight full detailing I was able to get what I wanted when I wanted it. I have a husky and a Pomeranian, and I work in 5 states (basically living in my car) so the transformation from before to after was a complete wow factor. My fiancé was so blown away he asked me to get his truck detailed here as a birthday gift to him. I texted them and scheduled it right away!! They're friendly, efficient, and do an AMAZING JOB. This place does the best job at cleaning the car and it gets everywhere for only 20 dollars. I don't trust anywhere else.

I liked the touch free experience. The wait for each car is about 5-7 minutes depending on the wash chosen, but I only had two cars in front of me so it wasn't too bad. The prices are good and I like the convenience of the payment terminal. On top of that, I got a free vacuum token (a $1.00 value)...SWEET! For only $2, you can have your mats washed (done and paid for in the tunnel wash area). I didn't do it this time but may try it at my next visit. All-in-all, it was a good first experience and I will be back. read more

EXTREMELY POOR customer service. When I returned to retrieve my front plate that was ripped off earlier in the week, I thought the attendant might offer to rescrew it for me, or even run my car through for a free, to make up for my inconvenience. Nothing of the sort was offered, So I asked for a free wash. Unfortunately he told me he did not have the authority to do that. When he got the manager, he came out with a scowl and asked what this was about. He rudely told me that if my plate had 4 scews on it, it probably wouldn't have happened and they do not give free washes. So I left, utterly disappointed. read more
