    Sipping Honey Lemonade!
    Hannah K.

I didn't expect to be so mystified, but I ended up leaving this place with a full stomach, a good attitude, and a bottle of their delicious Honeycomb Liqueur! A couple of my musician friends have played acoustic shows here before, and I just so happened to have nothing to do on a Saturday evening when one of them was playing, so I decided to take the drive out. This spot is a bit of a trek from even the suburbs but honestly, on the rare occasion that one may be able to come visit this place, I would HIGHLY recommend it. I'm not always an alcohol drinker, but I am more into distilled spirits than brews, so I was willing and a bit eager to try something off of their menu. They have a nice cocktail menu mixed with their on-site distilled rum, liqueurs, and whiskeys. I really like that they use "raw" materials like honey, vanilla, and maple to distill their alcohol, and the amount of love and care put into each bottle definitely shows! I sampled the Honey Lemonade, which was basically their Honeycomb Liqueur shaken with lemonade. Boy, can I just say that it was soooooo good that I ended up buying a whole bottle of the liqueur to take home with me? Like I said, I don't frequently drink - so if something's good enough for me to buy a whole bottle of the stuff, it's totally worth a taste. Okay, but we still have to talk about the food. HOLY. MOLY. They've got their own meat smokers on site. What more is there to say about some good, smoked meats?! They have a super simple menu with pork, chicken, and brisket sandwiches, but you really don't need anything more than a good country comfort sandwich at this point. The flavors speak for themselves. I hear they also have a Sunday brunch menu, and to that I say...road trip time!! Between the drink, the food, AND the décor (admittedly I admire taxidermy. But the wood tables are gorgeous, and the axe in the bar is soooo cool!) I'd recommend this place to anyone who's looking to try something a little out there. Trust me, it's so worth it.

First of all let me say this place is decorated beautifully. It looks like something concocted from a sweet daydream of a book lover. There are all kind of books and stained glass details which are beautiful. It also happens to have some pretty tasty cocktails which is a plus. Their menu is not updated on any of their pages so I can't remember what I ordered. It was a cocktail that mixed crisp, dry white wine, some kind of spirit and club soda. It was refreshing, interesting and light yet had just enough flavor to make it unique. The service was good. There were 2 bartenders that night who were helpful, attentive and friendly. There are a few tables with umbrellas outdoors in the front. A bar and some tables on the first floor inside and a metal spiral staircase which has a few small tables on the 2nd floor. Def not a great place for groups. Try and come at an odd time to get a seat.

Parking and Main Street is extremely difficult due to the popularity of these places so we parked down behind the store in a large community parking lot and walked up through the alley to the front door. We noticed immediately there was a huge overflow crowd. waiting to get into the Bar Bill, but we fought our way through to get into 189 Burger. If only those people out on the street knew what they were missing, they would give up their spot in line and join us at this great little restaurant instead! 189 Burger is well known for its expansive beer menu, but we were only interested in the burgers. I was intrigued by the description of the Bang Bang Burger. It came topped with Bang Bang sauce, cheddar cheese and Calabrian butter and crispy onions. Absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Greek burger, a masterpiece with Tzatziki , lemon ginger, jalapeño, red pepper, chickpea pesto, and pickled red onions, seeded bun! Scrumptious!

There was no one at any tables. There did not appear to be any lights on inside (including the lights of the "Open" sign on the door). There was one older gentleman standing inside, glaring out the window while talking on a phone, but that just made us uneasy to approach the door. Drove by around 7:30pm the same Saturday night. The "Open" sign was lit, but the place looked empty.

Definitely needs another staff member or two as the drink specialist was also serving the whole restaurant, taking orders and greeting. Including the outside. Although at times we were waiting , for example to pay as it got busier although we waited a while for our bill and drink refills but, it never felt excessively long even with this crutch. I simply want to keep it all to myself...but as an Elite Yelper, I feel an inordinate moral calling to share this great, super fun, place! It is a tiny, tiny place (hence, the first part of its name.) Maximum capacity of about 35 people. It has an outside volleyball court and a great outside deck on which you can enjoy a cool upscale beverage, or a Coors Light....literally it is that kind of place, something for everyone!!!! On a beautiful day, what a place to spend the afternoon for some fabulous burgers and the libation of your absolute choice! Now for the GREAT stuff. Amazing burgers. Like Amazing. Juicy, flavorful. Yum. Cozy tables and high tops with stools and a decent sized bar inside, then the nice deck, outside. The locals clearly know about this place and they have kept it a DEEP SECRET. I understand. It is a prize and if I were them, I would do the same. We heard about this cubbyhole, randomly, through rumor. Then we found it on Facebook. Our car driving group made arrangements to have a happy hour on a beautiful, sunny, fall Saturday following a rally style drive around WNY. The owner, Jennifer, was wonderfully accommodating when contacted in advance, agreeing to prepare a happy hour offering for us from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon, with special burger sliders and fry baskets for our drivers as appetizers, as we finished our rally style drive and rolled into Stafford New York in waves. We took over the Tiny Piney for a two hour period. Total fun. Steph, the master mixologist who totally dominates the Tiny Piney's unique bar, developed two specialty cocktails for our group. One was called the Pink Cadillac Margarita, and the other was called the Road Trip Cold Brew. Both. Were. Incredible. My driving group, The Western New York Drivers, are a great group of folks who love cars--from the very high end supercars and exotics to classics to muscle cars. Our drivers who are of all walks of life, were all so impressed with the incredible hospitality offered by The Tiny Piney, and their warm and welcoming group of local patrons. It is not every day that millions of dollars worth of cars driven by strangers, roll into a tiny bar in upstate Western New York, but the Tiny Piney handled it in total stride and arranged in advance for great parking on the lawn of the neighboring car business for our cars. Just perfect. My husband and I live 50 minutes from this hidden gem, and mark my words, we will be back before driving season's end, with or without our larger ensemble....as soon as possible! Thank you Steph and Jennifer for a warm welcoming Tiny Piney hug!
