Really enjoyed 189 Burger! It was my first time here. Normally East Aurora feels so busy and crowded to me but I was able to park comfortably in a lot behind the buildings (look for the green P sign for the parking). The place itself seems tiny but there was actually a lot of seating. We sat outside today on their patio and it was a beautiful location and ambiance. The waitresses are so wonderful. Very nice girls and we had a party of 6 to accommodate and everything was perfect! For the food, I ordered deviled eggs which were just the perfect egg yolk to mayo ratio. Not overpowering and had great seasonings. The burger was clearly the star of the meal. Lots of options to choose from - bbq, mushroom, black bean, etc. I would like to come back to try more. Enjoyed blackbean patty (which was dense and resembled beef) with melted Swiss and sweet Bourbon caramelized onions and shredded lettuce on tasty bun. So yummy. Order it with some kind of sauce, since the patty is lean. Side salad was tasty; I loved tge poppyseed dressing I had on the side. Brussel sprouts side was too much for two people. Delicious. Definitely tasted the olive oil and salt. No desserts at this restaurants, but hardly necessary since food portions are generous. My husband and I went here for a date night and there was about a 20 min wait on Saturday around 5, not bad! We went to the bar and I ordered the Clark's root beer which I'm not usually a rye drinker but it was so smooth! We had the deviled eggs and French onion soup for an appetizer. The deviled eggs had relish in them and it was different but added a nice little crunch and flavor. You can never go wrong with the soup during the cold months! I had the Maple Bacon burger which was the perfect mix of sweet and savory! My husband had the pot roast dip sandwich which was really good, we could have used a little more meat on it though. I came here with my husband on a Friday night at 7:00 pm. We had to wait for 30 minutes for a table, but I did like that they text you when your table is ready. Our waitress was great and attentive. We strolled in a bit before 2 pm on a Sunday and even tho it was busy, we were immediately sat at a back booth, which was perfect for us. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant! The interior decorating is super nice, and I love the low light vibe. The waitress was great as well. I started with the French onion soup. DEFINITELY get it if you love French onion soup. It is honestly some of the best I've had in Buffalo. The broth was so flavorful and the pieces of bread were so tasty. For the main course I got the Greek burger with Brussels sprouts. It was a fresh tasting burger which I liked. The bar area is a wonderful comfortable section to relax at and get a drink. Today I sat in the dining area next to the bar. There is also a balcony section you could dine at as well. My order today was, Beef on weck eggrolls- pretty good especially with the subtle tasting horseradish sauce. The 189- a very simple burger that was good and juicy, cooked exactly how I like it. It also comes with a choice of side. I selected the French fries and they were good. Only complaint about the burger is this. The bun was stale, if it wasn't stale it sure tasted like it was. I had no idea this place existed until my boyfriend recommended it to me. A friend and I were hiking at Knox Farm and we wanted a low key type dining experience. From Knox Farm to 189, I passed the place a couple times. It is right next to Bar Bill, but a little set back. I ended up parking on the first side street I found and walking a block, but honestly didn't mind it because Main Street was so packed with cars and people. Despite the outside of 189 swarming with people, the interior of 189 was quiet and we got a table immediately. The people waiting outside were for Bar Bill. They could have foregone the wait and went inside to 189 Burger for an incredible experience. For my drink, I had the one trick pony, which was cognac, yellow chartreuse, lemon, amaro nonimo and cucumber. It was incredible and I really enjoyed it. I also had the Nashville hot chicken and chose Brussel sprouts for my side. The standout experience was the fact that you could select Brussel sprouts, tater tots, sweet potato fries, or regular fries for your side. I love a good roasted Brussel sprout, so I was really excited. They didn't disappoint, although they could have been a little more roasted. The chicken itself was amazing. It brought the heat, but in the right quantity so you could eat the sandwich and not sweat. My friend enjoyed her burger and selected the sweet potato fries. The waitress also helped my friend pick out a drink, which she really enjoyed as well. This was a great dining experience and I can't wait to go back and try some of the appetizers and a burger. She was efficient, polite, and friendly. I got the 189 burger and my husband ordered the American. My burger came with a gluten free bun because I'm allergic. The burger I got was delicious. Like, out of this world. Even when I was getting full, I really couldn't stop eating it because of the deliciousness. The cheese and special sauce was so gooey and yummy, while the burger was seasoned well and cooked exactly how I wanted. It was a great experience. YES YES YES 189 Burger is absolutely DELICIOUS churning out great burgers, local brews, and making veggies great again! We were doing a long day bike ride through Buffalo, orchard Park, and East Aurora and decided to stop for some noms to fuel the ride and WOW we were not disappointed with our choice. Friendly service welcomed us right away and we choose to sit outdoors on their adorable alley patio where we got a table with some sun. Water was on the table in no time and we ordered some local brews which they have a great selection and offer numerous local ones and seasonal rotations too. We started with the Buffalo Brussel sprouts which were AMAZING! Like holy wow! Even the biggest Brussel haters would love these! They are fried and crispy, tossed in a spicy wing sauce with blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dip on the side. I can't even express enough how badly you need these!! Flavour is a perfect balance of spicy and zingy Buffalo sauce complimented with the creamy blue cheese. The two of us couldn't decide which delicious sounding burger to get and ended up ordering the spicy BBQ with the help of our waitress as (Hanna was AWESOME, so friendly, helpful, funny, and just overall maybe us a great time). The spicy BBQ burger was also fabulous! Came as we ordered it medium rare, with relatively mild spice in a delicious bbq sauce with crispy onions which gave excellent texture. The sesame bun was so fresh and flavourful too and housed the very large burger comfortably. We actually split the burger and it was the perfect amount of food for 2! You can choose any side dish and swap any burger to vegetarian bean burger no extra cost (although the beef was delicious) and we got the most delicious and crispy perfectly salted sweet taters that come with hot honey. Our favorite burger stop in the greater Buffalo area! We actually ended up here after finding out it was a 2 hour wait at the place next door, and honestly couldn't have been happier. The burgers are juicy, have great toppings, and are cooked perfectly. Sweet potato fries are on point also! The staff is always friendly and the overall vibe is great. It's funny how busy this place is all the time and it's helped by the traffic to Bar Bill that can't get in. Every time I've been here the wait times have been ridiculous to the point where it's take out only. On the most recent (and last) visit to dine in; we were here for over an hour and a half to order some burgers. I mean come on seriously, the interior isn't that big and that tells me that they're taking wayyyy to many to go orders and not prioritizing the people in the restaurant. That's just not okay. The food was just okay nothing special and the wait time was just not okay. Our waitress was nowhere to be found didn't check on us and didn't refill any drinks until well after we had our food over an hour and some change into the visit. Wow wow wow. I grabbed lunch and drinks with a couple girlfriends on Saturday afternoon. The drinks were so unique and sophisticated, the food was outstanding, our waitress was very personable, and the atmosphere was very cool. I can here for the first time recently and really enjoyed my experience! Their cocktails are DELISH. I stuck with the little fire (tequila, blood orange liqueur, grapefruit and lime). It was refreshing and sweet but not too sweet. It went down very easily! I also got the chipotle mayo burger and it was really tasty. The side options are: chips, fries, sweet potato fries, or Brussels sprouts - I love that Brussels are an option! I went with those and they were crispy and delish. The venue itself is also full of interesting surprises. There is an upstairs seating area over looking the main floor, as well as an outdoor patio with fire pits.
