I came here on a lovely summer evening to enjoy a few drinks. I don't have any pics of the inside of the bar or the cute little patio because I was on a date and even taking this pic was a wild move. But the ambiance in there is A+ a little loud in the bar but quieter and lovely outside on the porch. I would definitely recommend coming here! I hope to come back and try some of the food! i was sooooo looking forward to visiting this place and I hate to say it but.. it's the worst food I've had in buffalo in 7 years of living here. when we got our food we were quite literally like "is this for real" - looks depressing and unappealing. Food on the menu sounded really good but was really disappointing. A redeeming star for the wine selection. it had a nice vibe till they turned the music WAY too loud. Not sure if they were short staffed but the service was really lackluster. Felt the stress off the staff even when we were in there early with barely anyone else. We decided to stop at Ciao for happy hour. I ordered a beer, they have just 4 on tap. The tap's handle said it was a Sierra Nevada hazy little thing IPA, the bill said it was a Resurgence Greenheart IPA. It was good, but definitely mislabeled. We ordered a charcuterie board, according to the menu with 4 meats and 2 cheeses. Something happened on the way from the kitchen maybe, but there were only 3 meats. There were some slices to orange, pear and apple. Also a number of blueberries. Most of the fruit was not great; a bit overripe. The apple just didn't taste right, the blueberries were soft. The board also had a small bowl of walnuts and 3 crackers. Ot's a stretch asking $15 (happy hour price), not to mention the regular $22 when it's not happy hour. We were there at happy hour. We ordered the charcuterie board. It was supposed to have 4 meats and 2 cheeses on it. There were only 3 meats. There were two small wedges/rectangles of two different cheeses. The fruits were: slices of a pear, some overripe apple slices, approximately 10 overripe blueberries and three orange slices. A small bowl of walnuts and three crackers completed the board. This board is $22.00 when it's not happy hour; $15.00 during happy hour. It looks nice, but even though it is meant to be a "snack" to go with a beer or glass of wine, it seemed a bit underwhelming. P.S. The bar stools are hard wood!!! So I have already left a comment on another site but want to make sure people know now to waste their money here. I already had a horrible experience here before (same with my friends on separate occasions). Ended up getting their specialty old fashion cocktail. When the cocktail came it was filled with ice cubes all the way to the top. First off if you know how to make an old fashion you should know that you ruin the flavor by diluting the drink the ice melts faster. On top of my watery drink you couldn't even taste the Alcohol. So I kindly asked to remake it with no ice cubes. The bartender gave me a dirty look and attitude and went to make the next one. The two bartenders proceeded to sit next the pos system and clearly talk shit. Cool. So I receive my old fashion with no garnish ( pure laziness) didn't come and check on me to see if it was made better ( which it wasn't ) . Was given attitude . First time I have ever left a $0 tip. Went with a brunch group of 6 - we had reservations for Sunday at 11am. Our party arrived on time the day of our reservation. The hostess seemed a tad flustered as "we just opened" and we were a table of 6 (with reservations). No worries, we aren't in a rush - we were celebrating 2, 50th birthdays and wanted to socialize as much as eat and drink. We were seated and the hostess/bartender/waitress/cook(?) apologized for the delay, but she was the only one working and was trying to get set up. Again, no worries. Drink orders taken, we reminded her we are in no rush b/c we are here for 50th bdays and just want to converse and take our time. Drink menu and the drinks that were served were absolutely fabulous!! Sadly, I have to say the fabulousness of what you served, ended there. In our party of 6, half of us ordered the Italian Eggs Benedict (described as a house made focaccia roll, porchetta, poached egg, hollandaise, and homefries), and the other half ordered the Frittata (described as seasonal vegetables, mozzarella, parmesan and home fries). Overall, everyone agreed that the homefries (while served cold) were very tasty. Those who ordered the Eggs Benedict had eggs that ran from perfectly yolky, to hard boiled. The focaccia rolls were certainly not made in house, and the "porchetta" that was served was nothing more than one slice of basic "ham off the bone" from a deli. The hollandaise was delightful. Those who ordered the Frittata were served a completely overcooked (browned scrambled eggs) frittata with red onions. No other "seasonal vegetables" were to be found. The eggs were so overcooked that they crumbled into an egg-like dust when you tried to get them on your fork. Overall, the food was just not good. For having such a limited menu, the hope is always that those few selections are prepared well. Not so much. The drinks were fantastic and our server (who also definitely was the hostess, bartender and we wouldn't be surprised if she was also the cook) definitely could have used another person in the front to help serve. By the time we left, there were 2 other tables and 4 patrons at the bar and she and she was still running her butt off alone. Kudos to her, but sadly, we will not return. read more

I was invited to Ciao Ciao for Brunch and it was a great experience. Three of us had eggs Benedict which everyone loved...sorry I didn't take a picture because they were plump and delicious...picture perfect in fact. The french toast was also ordered and it was tender and tasty made with brioche. The service was impeccable, the mimosas were perfect and to top it off a talented musician played quietly while we ate. Today we sat inside where it was warm and cozy on this cool Mother's Day, but the lounge also has outdoor seating and a full bar. Great place! We'll be back! read more

Overall I recommend! First off, it is decorated beautifully for winter. As soon as I walked in I felt like it was a cozy place I could spend a couple hours at. The bartender was very sweet. I didn't like the first cocktail and she didn't include it on the tab which I really appreciated. (It wasn't the way it was made, just the flavor of the coconut rum). Then I had the aperol mint spritz and it was good enough to order two! I got the Viv focaccia sandwich. This would have been worth the happy hour price if it had come out in about half the time with fresh, hot focaccia. For me the focaccia was too crunchy and not very warm. It took about 40-45 mins to come out and there was nothing cooked, and I also didn't see any other food dishes for anyone in the bar. Maybe it was overlooked? Regardless the other ingredients were fresh with a nice flavor. It was VERY salty though - part of the this is that it was a prosciutto sandwich! But I think the bread was salty also, or maybe not great proportions. Even still, it's definitely worth another trip at least for drinks, and I'd try the food again. Don't waste your time! I went in recently and the food came out on time, it was MOSTLY warm, but there wasn't anything that stuck out to me. The panini is the exact same as Caffe Aroma on Bidwell and Elmwood -- same bread, same fillings. The pasta is nothing special, I would rather spend my money at a better Italian restaurant in the area for the same amount of money. I heard that they were partnering with Moriarty Meats. Frankly, I would rather cook something from there than order it from Ciao. While I'm glad that I tried it, I wouldn't return. There was nothing that stands out about this restaurant. The waitress, whose name I believe was Emily, was very short and quick with us but kind to the other tables. The best part of the restaurant were the drinks, however the bartender (Noah) seemed to be having in a bad day. Can't say we had the best service at the restaurant. The atmosphere is a tacky green bar with nice lighting and decorations. It seems that the Google reviews were left by the owner. The ceiling and bar are beautiful, but it seemed and looked cheap at the end of the day. All in all, the restaurant pales in comparison to the rest of the Italian restaurants in Buffalo. My husband and I stopped in on Saturday night before heading to dinner. I am pregnant and asked the bartender, Nick, if he was able to make a mocktail. Having ordered mocktails before, I was expecting soda water with a bit of flavor, however Nick offered a mock Mule with freshly squeezed watermelon. The renovation here is lovely with a spectacular patio. the food was very good and the waitress took especially nice care of us. We had the charcuterie platter and the lasagna. The reason for my 3 stars is the loudness of the music. It actually hurt my ears. I believe it was well above the legal decibel level and it would be difficult for me to sit there again. Such a shame when everything else is delightful. If they want a mixed crowd, not just young people, they need to adjust the volume and I will be back. read more

The positive - great place for drinks, server was very sweet and the vibe is good. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. We started with the stuffed banana peppers - even though we were warned by a previous diner not to order - and the peppers were not cooked, and I had requested to char the peppers, the cheese stuffing was tasty but cold. I had the cheese ravioli and again, not hot and just not good. My friend had the chicken milanese and it was below average, no taste/seasoning. I hope it gets better. read more
