    Lebanese Chicken Fattoush Salad
    Nhi V.

Ate their Lebanese Chicken Salas a week ago and I'm still thinking about it today. I've never been someone who order salad from a restaurant, but this was a game changer. First off, salad was humongous. It is $16, but you definitely get 2 meals out of it. Almost everyone around me took theirs to go. Second, I've never had salad that was so perfect with every single bite. Not sure how they chopped it, but every piece fit together perfectly on your fork so that you could get a little bit of lettuce, tomato, chicken, olives, and pita bread - every time. Speaking of the pita bread, it added the perfect crunch and flavor to the salad. Service was also on point and food came out quickly.

Barnaby's never disappoints. This Downtown location isn't my favorite, honestly, we oftentime forget about it. But living in the East End, there aren't many salad options, so the food delivery apps always remind us that Barnaby's still exists. They have one of my most favorite salads in Houston (Lebanese Fattoush) that pairs so well with their irresistible fries. And queso. Spinach artichoke dip. And this is one of the few affordable *and* healthy-ish breakfast spots near us when we are trying to stay away from breakfast tacos. Service is hit or miss (it's never bad, just slow) and I noticed the ingredients varied in my salad (compared to the same salad I ordered from the Heights location that same week). Minor issue, just not a solid 5-star experience like their other locations.

What a treasure to happen upon while we were in Houston for a wedding. My niece and I headed out from the hotel to find a drugstore and then crossed the street to check out Barnabies! In retrospect, I absolutely could have made a meal with only the sweet potato fries! The best!!!! The sandwiches are generous and incredibly delicious! The waitstaff are delightfully friendly. All in all, a very pleasant part of our weekend!

We were looking for a place with outdoor seating near Houston's museum district and this place fit the bill. It is clearly geared towards dog owners and dogs are encouraged so much, they even have their own menu! Unfortunately, we had not brought our doggo to Houston with us, so we had to satiate ourselves with other's pets. The food was good and was absolutely HUGE portions. We were there for lunch, but the portions would have been considered large for dinner. My mom got the Petaluma Salad, which looked like it contained an entire head of lettuce. My dad's Hawaiian Pork Chops came with three large chops in addition to pineapple wedges, fries, and cinnamon apples. I got the Meatloaf Bruschetta, which was very unique (always a plus in my book) and they let me substitute the side of chips for their homemade Mac and Cheese (an even bigger plus)! My wife got the Pesto Chicken Salad Sandwich, which she enjoyed, except she requested it be made with the sourdough hoagie bun and they brought it out on the original wheat bread instead. Since the portions were so big, we did not have room for dessert, but their sweets menu looks very intriguing, especially their large selection of large cakes. We'll have to come back for a dessert-only trip and this time, bring our dog.

This place is pretty great. I've already recommended it to others who were planning on traveling down to the Houston, TX area. The outside of the restaurant is fairly plain, but the inside is quaint and colorful. Immediately being sent those great under-sell/over-deliver vibes. They offered lunch and breakfast at the same time. I opted to go for the Bacon waffle with sides of home fries and eggs. The food was extremely affordable. I think the breakfast menu only had 1 option over $10! The drink I opted to go with was a half and half (iced tea/lemonade). All of it was delicious and there was so much of it! I had enough food for 2 days! Value and taste is a quality that will always get a high rating from me! The restaurant is only open for a few hours of the day and I'm sure they are doing just fine because the place was packed on a weekday afternoon! Definitely would go back if I'm in the area.

THE BEST BREAKFAST/BRUNCH IN DOWNTOWN HANDS DOWN. Barnaby's is decently priced with HUGE portions. It's delicious breakfast food that I crave all the time. The greens eggs is my favorite breakfast dish here. What makes it green is that they mix spinach artichoke dip with the eggs. Might sound weird at first but a must try! The biscuits are so delicious (I would always sub this rather than toast). And I am never disappointed every time I come here! It's a must try breakfast place in downtown!

Classic diner style brunch spot with simple, delicious food that you can't go wrong with. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a hearty meal to fill you up!

Ordered Togo. Dismayed to find a horribly burned hot dog. This should've never left the kitchen. Shame on the cooks.

Ordered Togo. And was dismayed when I sat down at my desk at work and saw a horribly burned hot dog. And there's nothing I can do, as I'm at work. This should've never left the kitchen. Shame on the cooks. Chili was good. Fries are good. Hence the 2 stars instead of 1.

came at the tail end of lunch. They have vegetarian burger and a few salad options for vegans. The host greets me ask if dine or take away. I opt to dine in tells me to make myself comfortable . Walks a menu over . This is going well. It is a picture of what a cafe should be Then the waitress comes over coffee black, please. She returns I get an order of chips . I ask if they're vegan, because sometimes they are fried in beef tallow for flavour. She looks at me as I have suggested some barbaric act. She returns wordlessly with coffee. A moment later with the chips she brings the chips I will not see her again until the bill coffee is never refilled a 20% tip was a gift. One star because coffee, chips, and host were great

When my friend made the reservation, she received an email encouraging customers to visit the tasting room before or after dinner. We showed up an hour early to visit the tasting room, however the host had no idea what we were talking about. Turns out they weren't doing tastings. Luckily, we didn't have to wait to be seated. We initially had a table that was not near a heat lamp, however an employee came over and let us know that we could switch to a table near the heat lamp which was appreciated because it was chilly. Our server was Laura. She was nice and funny. They had $25 flight specials. I went with the Sayanara Flight which had white wines. I really enjoyed them and they weren't too sweet. My friend had an NA wine which she enjoyed. We ordered the Truffle Fries and Meatballs. Both dishes were tasty. I enjoyed the aioli that came with the fries. They had discounted wines for purchase. Not all bottles were 50% off, however the gentleman that we spoke to went ahead and gave me a 50% discount on both the rosé and pinot grigio that I purchased which was so appreciated! It seems like there are quite a few businesses around town that are closing. I'm sad to see Mutiny go, but I'm glad my friend and I got to dine in on their final night.

"Closing time, you don't have to go home But you can't stay…read morehere." - Semisonic I have lived in the loop for 5 years now, and I'm sad to say that I finally tried Mutiny on their last day. I often pass by it going through a shortcut to I-45 and sometimes going home around the area. It's literally a 5-minute drive. I booked reservations Friday since I saw they opened up the 31st on Resy. It wasn't earlier in the week, but I knew it was the last day, and my friend and I really wanted to try. I'm glad we made reservations because they were at capacity (150 person capacity) and weren't taking any walk ins. We got there early cause Resy suggested checking out the Tasting Room before or after the reservation time. We got there about an hour earlier, and the host said he didn't know anything about that except that the Tasting Room area was used for events. Interesting. We were seated earlier on the patio on this freezing evening. At first, we were at a table that didn't have a heat lamp, but when one freed up, they were so nice to suggest that we move closer to the heat lamp since they saw us shivering. Lol. We were thankful for that. I wore fleece lined jeans and brought gloves and a beanie anyway having been in the below freezing winter in London. Laura was our server and was kind and funny. So was this other guy who checked in every now and then. He made light of their last day situation. The dining area is so beautiful inside. I love the limestone-looking interior and chandeliers. Reminds me of Fredericksburg or something. They had many large groups and a few small groups of friends or couples dining on this last day. Way to go out with a bang. A lot of the wines were selling out or already sold out around 7-8 pm. We tried the truffle fries and Sicilian meatballs with focaccia bread. I like the thick cut of the fries and the black garlic aioli. It reminded me of yuca fries. The Sicilian meatballs were a bit small, peppery and salty. I wish the marinara was a little more tart. The focaccia helped cut through the saltiness. I had 2 glasses of the NA Sauvignon blanc which was light and a little tart. They ran out of the NA red blend. My friend ordered Sayonara, one of their farewell flights which were aptly named for "goodbye". It was a great night on the patio but chilly. My friend purchased a rosé and a Pinot Grigio as part of their Last Sail wines. Actually, the Pinot Grigio wasn't part of the sale, and he was going to take off 20%, but he also made it 50% off. So nice!! I'm glad we got to try them on their last day. Bon voyage, Mutiny.

The place was dimly lit and there was a lot of seating, both indoor and outdoor. A lot of the seating inside was arranged as couches with low tables, which made for a very casual and relaxing vibe, while the overall atmosphere remained very classy. - Padre's Hotdog (4.5/5): I was told by my friend that this was the best hotdog ever so I had very high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. The bread was very buttery and nicely toasted. The frank itself was very juicy and I loved how the pico and mustard help cut through the fat. The thing that made this hotdog stand out was the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was delicious and I could probably have just eaten that alone. One thing though, the hotdogs were a bit on the smaller size, you probably would have to order something else or a second hotdog if you were hungry. Would come back again just for this hotdog! Parking/Service: There was a small lot on the side of the building, but other than that you might have to street park in the neighborhood right next to it. The ordering system was a bit of a surprise for me. You have to walk in to the bar and order there.

We were able to snag some free street parking and wandered our way into a cute setup with mood lighting and plenty of seating. There's a central bar and plenty of outdoor patio space. You can choose between 3 or 6oz pours, or a bottle. We also decided to share a cheese board with the Willoughby cheese which was soft and delicious! I appreciated how kind and accommodating the servers were as they frequently checked on us. This is a great spot to enjoy some wine with friends, on date night, or anything really! Our server was checking in on us very frequently and she explained the menu to us when we told her we hadn't been before. The manager on duty also had stopped by and introduced herself. We ordered several tapas and one large plate half order. I don't know much about wine, personally, but the drinks we did get were amazing. The restaurant itself was very pretty as well, lots of natural lighting and then low lighting as the sun went down. The music was low and we were able to hear each other well, apart from one group across the room that would get rowdy but I can't blame them for having a good time.
