However, this location offers many genres, in store and online. It's nice to be able to order online and pick it up in store or have it shipped. Staff is knowledgeable and if a book you want isn't in stock, it can be ordered. If you like big cookies, check out the coffee area. Ask for a cookie to be warmed. Eat it with a cup of coffee. So this is one of my favorites places to be. I love it so much I literally spent four hours in this store up and down and all around. Haha!! I am actually part of a book club so I have a love for books so a book store makes me very happy. I appreciated that this store is very clean, organized and the employees were super friendly. I came out of there with eight books to read and I can hardly wait to go back to pick up some more. I love how they have a section of discounted books as well. I was able to find books for 6, 7 and 8 bucks. Can't beat that! I had a great experience and enjoyed my four hours there. I even stopped by at the cafe (Starbucks) and enjoyed my vanilla iced coffee while reviewing the books that I plan on buying. Coffee and books are great!! See ya soon!! read more

As a lifelong reader and writer, I'm glad there are still Barnes & Nobles in the world fighting the good fight and sticking it out. Yeah, I know it's not a mom & pop local joint, but those are sometimes even harder to come by. Now this is about your run of the mill B&N. It has two floors. Spacious layout. Huge selection of all genres and topics, fiction and non. They sell nook devices, too. More to my own interests, there are lots of stationary items including journals, pens, and cards for all occasions. I always like seeing the other gifty knickknacks here too. You can never be too certain you'll come out of here without something neat. Prices are high-ish. About as you'd expect for a specialty store. Plus new books and magazines don't really have wiggle room on the price. There's even a Starbucks in this location with lots of seating if you're looking for a decent work/study spot. I'm glad to have this B&N close by. read more

Lovely. They have a classics section! It isn't very well curated though; I mean that it's made up of only 50 books or so. So you still need to go through all of the fiction shelves. Tons of Puzzles! Great view from the second floor! Half of the employees were just standing around chatting while the other half were working their butts off and crabby about it. And the bathrooms are very dirty. (Always, at B&N.) The cafe doesn't serve some Starbucks items like teas. There are very few places to sit and read other than in the loud cafe. I counted just two - already occupied chairs - and the long wooden bench by the magazines. read more

Two stars because it's usually clean inside. Not a single star more because of the frequency of bad experience with needing and getting help. And don't be surprised when you get to the register at 6:02 and leave with nothing because they shut down all registers at 6:00. They can run their store however they want, including refusing to check you out the second after they stop letting people enter. And just so, I can patronize wherever I want. I thought it was in the business's interest to transact with customers inside their store trying to buy goods. Until proven otherwise, I now believe this store considers its relation to its customers as adversarial more than transactional. Also - I wonder if I would have been locked inside overnight if I hadn't been at the registers 2 minutes after closing. Is there a safety concern of not knowing customer were in store after closing, or was it really a decision somebody made to punish the guy who took 2 minutes too many trying to buy stuff? read more

I love Barnes and noble. I've loved it ever since I was a kid. It's one of those stores I have to get dragged out of because I spend hours in. So when I found this one I was beyond happy especially when I saw it had an escalator. This Barnes and noble blows the Connecticut one that I grew up with out of the water. If I lived closer to one I'd definitely sign up for the rewards heck I'd probably be there so much they'd know my name lol. The staff was very helpful and friendly. read more

Fantastic store! Everything was well-organized and there was an excellent selection of books, etc. There were some attractive table displays around the store, which had fun items one might be interested in purchasing for gifts. The store was spacious and wow, two levels! The books I looked at in this store were pristine and new without any wear-n-tear (unlike the 'new' books for sale at my local B&N). I ended up purchasing only one book here, but was very pleased with my overall experience at this B&N. read more

I really liked this B&N as I never really get out to this location. We went in the middle of a Monday on my day off and it was pretty empty! This location seemed pretty open compared to the other location I'm used to that seems to be a little stuffy and cramped. I like the way it's organized in here and it's easy to follow. I never come here looking for a specific item, just to browse, because I love that new book smell. I almost always leave with a book in hand. The cafe here is also very nice, spread out, and the barista was very pleasant and outgoing when we ordered a drink. The lines and aisles were conducive for social distancing and it was well-kept and obviously sanitized. Keep up the good work! read more

This is a direct quote from the Ohio Attorney General complaint I had to file against this Barnes & Noble in Fairlawn: Barnes & Noble advertised Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass for $50.63. Website showed store availability. We arrived and the price was $75. We had just driven down from North Royalton. Store refused to honor the advertised price. No where else on line was the $75 price. We were told we had to register to get the price .. i.e., give out confidential information. This was to have been a cash transaction. There was no online disclaimer. Post the correct in store price otherwise this bait and switch. Quit trying to dupe customers to make a quick buck. We declined the purchase at $75. Now we know to shop elsewhere. We ordered the book cheaper through Amazon. read more

I don't know why this Barnes & Noble got such bad reviews. It's a massive 2 story building, organised well, and has an incredible amount of books. I've found everything I've needed here, from Latin books to mysteries and niche self-help. (Seriously, how many bookstores have Latin workbooks??) The Starbucks café adds a lovely touch - nothing like some coffee, tea, and books. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. I really love this Barnes & Noble - definitely recommend! read more

I'm super anti this whole digital book nonsense. There is nothing better than the smell of a new book and the feeling of crisp (or worn) pages being turned. I love having tangible books around me. That being said, if this place ever goes out of business in going to have a total melt down! B&N has a fantastic selection in literally every genre. Even their magazine selection is extensive and wonderful. Their clearance shelves hold some wonderful treasures and they have cute little gift type things. And there is coffee. Perfect combination to any book store! read more

The Fairlawn Barnes and Noble is one of my favorite bookstores in the area. This bookstore located amid the many stores of Montrose is very open, has two stories, a nice cafe, and an extensive selection. The staff are very friendly. The layout of the store is easy to follow, making it simple to find what your looking for. On the second floor, there is comfy seating set among the fiction bookselves. Overall, this Barnes & Noble, the only one in Summit County, is a great place to pick up a book or spend an afternoon browsing through books. read more

This store and the staff are awesome! They truly embody customer service. I wear my emotions on my sleeve, so when I was walking around the store, I clearly LOOKED confused - I was asked by 3 different associates if I needed help. And they were sincere! I was looking for a Christmas gift for my nephew, so they couldn't help too much, but they are always willing to assist. The return/exchange policies are clearly stated on the back of the receipt- if in doubt, READ... this IS a book store after all. I do not like this store. Not good for buying gifts. U only have 2 weeks to return then it's on a gift card. Also, it was 1 month since I bought the items, I had the receipts, and they were going to give me the lowest sales price in the last month on the items even tho I had receipts!! Not worth the trouble if u think u might return something after 2 weeks! read more

Went in there with a list of six books. They did not carry any of them in store but they did online. So I ordered a couple. It has been eight days and it is still processing. Called customer service and they said "I don't know, you will get an email when it ships." Go to Amazon..... Better prices, better customer service, and better shipping. read more
