We needed a book for book club and I was ready for a coffee. Perfect , everything in one location.

I sometimes reminisce on the good ol' days of brick-and-mortar bookstores before the e-commerce boom. I checked out this store incidentally while looking for a nearby Starbucks, and it's a pretty decent place. Parking is spacious with a big lot in front. The store is well-lit, of decent size, and carries a good selection of books, magazines, movies for all ages. And a nice perk, as aforementioned, is the Starbucks within the store (which is not listed on Yelp; correct me if I'm mistaken), with free AT&T wifi and a decent amount of seats. I got the caramel brûlée latte ($5 grande) hot, which was really good. Overall, I'd recommend this place for book and/or Starbucks lovers. P.S. Kevin is my go-to alias at restaurants and coffee shops, because my real name is highly prone to mispronunciations (some of which are pretty hilarious though).

I still miss Borders, I think it's more expensive here. That being said, they are always very nice, and it's a pleasant place. We sit perusing for hours, usually with a coffee, and look at books and magazines. They do have a wide selection, except gardening magazines, very few. What's up with that? Bathrooms can get a tad gross, pee before you come. They are helpful, but not pushy. The Starbucks usually offers a holiday type special drink, and has Cream Puffs, and Cannoli that are pretty good, though not as good as in Delaware, or was that Baltimore? Either way, they ate quite tasty.

Book store with a wide variety of.books and movies etc. newspapers etc. order ahead. Purchase there. All genres for all ages. Or just hang out and have a coffee while reading. Have a snack. All good. Wifi. Friendly staff. Nothing extraordinary here. Nothing bad here.

All in all, I like the feel of the Barnes and Noble stores over the Borders book stores. Barnes and Noble feel more spacious inside, they have a nicer cafe with a good selection of treats and sandwiches to choose from. However, Borders seems to have a wider selection of books. In general, if I'm just after a book and then leaving, I'll head to Borders, but if I want to hang out and enjoy the experience, I much prefer Barnes and Noble.

The person helping us out was really nice and told us when we could check back to see if the item was in stock. I also walked around for a few minutes. There was a special buy one get one 50% off sale going on which seemed like a good deal. I didn't have a lot of time to browse though, so I did not take advantage of that sale. Hopefully they'll have it again soon! This Barnes and Noble seemed like any other one. I would come back here if I was in the area.

What a surprisingly large, two-story BN here in Tucson. I was weirdly surprised by how small the…read moreHarry Potter section/supplies were. Maybe interest is waning. Anyways, I stopped in for a journal and found a beautiful blue leather lined journal with a fleur-de-lis on the cover. Then I stumbled across a "part-time" adult daily planner that was undated. Normally I wouldn't go for undated but this one spoke to me. The store is laid out really well and is very spacious. I appreciated the small Hanukkah display that was available. This is where things went a little sideways for me as I looked at the items on display. Two parties have a responsibility here, the buyer, Barnes & Noble, and the supplier, Paper Source. I'm so confused as to why either party believed an ornament was appropriate here. For what? We don't have anything or celebrate for which we would use an ornament. A Hanukkah bush is not a thing. The other thing that confused me was the with challah. Such weird items for Hanukkah. There isn't nor should there be an equivalent for every Christmas item to Hanukkah. They are not the same thing and there is no equivalence. Other than these weird Hanukkah items, if I were in the area again and needed to come back to BN, I would definitely stop in here. And per contract/usual, there was a decent sized Sbux cafe inside the store. One which I will never visit since I do not give my business to Sbux.
