On the positive side, the asparagus was impeccable--tender yet crisp, a true highlight of the dish. To elevate my meal, I opted for the butter garlic sauce, which was nothing short of exceptional. Its rich flavor was a delightful addition, enhancing the overall dining experience. However, I found the extra charge of $3.00 for a portion that barely covered one chicken breast and two asparagus spears a bit disappointing. The sauce was so delectable that I ended up purchasing an additional container to take home for the asparagus I had left. **Beverages and Ambiance** The Beachy Sangria was another standout, offering a refreshing complement to my meal. It was perfectly balanced and added a delightful touch to our dining experience. The ambiance at Barnhill's is equally noteworthy. As for the service, it was good and our waitress was friendly. While there were a couple of minor issues, particularly with the chicken and the portion size of the sauce, the overall experience was delightful enough to warrant a return visit. We took the time to view the menu online, for food allergies purposes, and made a reservation and arrived only to discover the I line menu is not the same as the current menu! "Chefs changed, can't get the old menu off the website, owners nephew did the website and lives in another state, blah, blah, blah." btw- Chefs changed in February. Great service, but that's where it ends. The online menu isn't accurate at all--what we got was a stripped-down, uninspired version. We were told the cooks quit, which explains a lot, but as a guest it just felt like a mess. Nice space, but the experience is clearly going downhill. Went here for a book club lunch. The staff easily accommodated our large group inside. Wide range of food on the menu. My only issue is the price. I spent over $20 for a salad. It was good but that price was a bit much. I definitely want to try other things on the menu next time. read more

First time in as they are closed for lunch during g the week when we tend to be in Flagler. They have an elevator for those that can't do stairs. My wife had the Chicken pasta that had artichoke and spinach in a light cream sauce. I had the Arroz con Pollo as the recipe is from Columbia where the original chef ‍ was from. The bowl was filled with several shrimp and linguini with a kick, yes I like spicy:)) My group had Cobb salads that were huge. It included Avocado with an abundance of blue cheese crumbles. They were accommodating when one asked For feta instead. The soup looked delicious and the broth/stick filled with many flavors...chicken , broth and veggies. Excellent food! The crab cakes are just crab. A little egg white to hold it together and seasoning. Ok, they were falling apart. But pure crab joy!! You must get the large 8 oz. You will not take any home. We were there at 4pm so we could take advantage of happy hour until 5 as well as the less expensive lunch menu. There were 7 of us and 5 got crab cakes. The crepes looked really good and tasted amazing. The pasta special looked tasty too. But the crab cakes!! Cassie is the new Gm and our service was attentive and prompt and fun, even with the shift change. The place is wooden and has a very beachy feel. It's a big place and can accommodate all group sizes. There is an elevator for accessibility. Parking is a problem. There is a lot of construction and even before 4pm we had trouble finding a space, be prepared to walk or drop off part of your party. Sangria, margaritas and mules are on happy hour price. Barnhill's 1. Background. I've been seeing this place get built very slowly for years. I was very interested in this place once it finally opened. 5 stars for piquing my curiosity. 2. Atmosphere. Beautiful wood everywhere: bar, booths, tables, and walls. View of the water from the dining area. No echo in the rooms. 5 stars. 3. Cleanliness. Very clean and maintained. 5 stars. 4. Bathroom. You have to walk outside and back inside for the bathroom. Apparently, there is no air circulation, so both rooms have large tower fans in them. By choice there seems to be no towels, only a high end air dryer, like Dyson. 3 stars 5. Customer service. Excellent. Everyone knows their job. Everyone helps out. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the menu. 5 stars. 6. Beer. Ice cold. 5 stars. 7. Plates and silverware. High end plates and high end silverware. 5 stars 8. Food. It's so good, I've eaten there twice inside of a week. The crab cakes Eggs Benedict was very good (more crab than cake). The crepes are outstanding. The two specials, filet tips over linguine in a light, butter sauce and the filet tips with mushroom sauce over garlic mash, were sublime. 9. Price. The breakfasts were $15, which is about the same price for their sandwiches. The specials--or anything with steak--is going to be in the high $20s to low $30s. 5 stars. 10. We went on a recommendation from a friend to Barnhill. It's off the beaten path tucked behind A1A in busy Flagler Beach. If you were driving down the strip you wouldn't see it. After mistaking the entrance ( there's a Juice shop downstairs ) we found it around the side located next to some cute shops. They have lots of outdoor seating but it was such a cold windy night. Our friendly hostess showed us to a booth indoors. Sadly our booth in the back had no view as they are building a big apartment complex next door. However the main room in front seemed to have a better view. There was a bar in the back dining area which seemed cozy. Since it was a cold night I inquired about hot tea. The server quickly brought over a big box of herbal teas and a tea pot. The menu is quite varied and if you like crepes this is definitely your place. They list them as sweet or savory. I definitely will go back to try those. We decided to start with an appetizer of corn croquettes. They were served 5 large croquettes on a plate drizzled with a spicy sauce. The croquettes were very flavorful . We really enjoyed them. My husband is always looking for the perfect Cobb Salad & I think he found it here. He doesn't like blue cheese ( crazy right?) and asked to sub for feta. They were quite accommodating with that & he really enjoyed the salad. It was very large and enough to split but he ate it all. I had something very delicious as well from the vegetarian choices on the menu. The black bean sweet potato bowl had a layer of white rice on the bottom, topped by tomatoes, corn, black beans, sweet potato, cilantro, avocado and topped with a spicy sauce. It was a melding of great flavors. My only recommendation is to cook the sweet potatoes more as some were a little under done. Our dining partners also enjoyed their meals. Overall, it was a great recommendation & we will return to try those crepes. Tip: Try the outdoor rooftop seating for a view of the beach. read more

Love the ambiance of Barnhill. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Our waitress was very attentive and very nice. She was having to be waitress and bartender and hostess waiting for the employers to get there. We were the first customers when they opened at 4. We order two appetizers that were delicious. The shrimp and potatoes with Gouda. I could have eaten the potatoes all by myself. The salmon was good but I've heard the crepes are to die for and wished I would had ordered that for something different. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely go back and order the crepes. Also heard the crab cakes are delicious. Quite a few things I have to go back and try. read more

Had she approached the table when I was there I would have asked for it back... but i happened to be in the restroom and my party did not make me aware of this until after I had left. Good restaurant in the heart of Flagler Beach. Looks smaller than it is! Seating is on the second and 3rd floor, they offer inside and outside (covered and uncovered) but note that outdoor seating is mostly 2 person. Indoor seating is ample with many 4 tops. There is a wheelchair lift for those in need. We visited during brunch hours. They have baristas and a cafe' making lattes, cappuccinos, fancy teas and more as well as fresh made muffins, croissants, and cookies. Parking is a challenge but be patient and know you will have to drive around just a bit to locate a spot. They are currently in their soft opening but I will say service was good, food came out pretty fast, my husband said he would come back daily for the crab benedict (it was that good)! Next visit I will ask to be seated at a table in the bar area (more light for indoor seating). The 3rd floor is a definite MUST for future date nights - the view is GREAT! read more

I truly enjoyed the experience. I sat at the bar so obviously I was greeted quickly and had a menu and a drink. The bartender Jonathan helped me to navigate menu choices. I ordered a crab cake sandwich and he recommended the chefs seasonal veggies as a side. The crab cake was all crab meat, insanely good and the veggies were perfect. I'm not afraid of seasoning and it was well done. The bartender had a command of the room and his station was clean. Barnhill is a great edition to Flagler Beach. Cute place inside. The food is always delicious, I'll give higher stars for the variety, the quality, and taste of their meals. As a local, where my husband and I struggle, the service is very hit or miss. On nights where there are only a few tables occupied in the restaurant, and we sit in the bar area booths, we can go ten minutes without a hello. Sometimes we have to go ask who is helping us. Other times, the bartender and staff are great. As a local, we enjoy supporting our local fare. Hopefully in the future they can improve on the service side to match the quality of their meals. read more

Oof. What a miss. I came here with friends as a halfway point meeting and before we even came we called ahead and said we had two dogs and a party of 9. We made sure they could accommodate us and they said they could. It would be outdoor seating and we said that was fine. I have sat at plenty of places with outdoor seating. When we arrived the table they had for us was COMPLETELY IN THE SUN. There was not a speck of shade for us and our family. It was blazing hot and we kept trying to take turns standing in the shade to get breaks. This wouldn't have been too bad if it hadn't taken AN HOUR for us to get our food. We actually all ended up sunburnt from this. At one point the owner did come over and offer cookies to our kids to make up for it... but those quickly melted too. Once the food arrived it was fine... except one order. We had a kid order the yogurt parfait and in it you can choose various fruits. He chose banana and strawberries and we were then informed they were out of strawberries so they gave us blueberries in a little bowl instead. If you know kids... that isn't going to work. When we looked at the blueberries they were molded :( All in all... a super disappointment. Will not return. Not sure if this restaurant will make it if they don't figure things out fast. read more

Breakfast was mediocre at best. We had the crab Benedict and barnhill breakfast. The crab cake Benedict was okay, crab cake should be crispier, I would not buy again for the price. Barnhill breakfast says it comes with a few different types of meat, we didn't receive the chorizo....and would have mentioned it to the server but she never came to ask how our food was or to refill coffees and waters. She brought the check only and said nothing about thanks for coming, how was your food or have a nice day, nothing. Not very hospitable or friendly at all. Stopped in recently due to all the yummy-looking healthy food options I kept seeing posted in the foodie groups. Barnhill's did not disappoint! I had a mojito (hey, fresh mint counts as healthy, right?) and a delicious bowl with rice, black beans, roasted sweet potatoes, micro greens, corn, a light sauce and avocado... it was a huge bowl that I happily took home left overs for dinner. It's a great place to eat, and most of the seats have an ocean view. My server was just lovely and not only was the service impeccable, but I told her I was playing tourist and exploring new places in the town, and she gave me a coupon for the boutique downstairs with some awesome beach attire, jewelry and adorable clothes. I ended up buying some Flagler beach goodies and was happy to support local! It has a nice bar and great drink selections. Highly recommend! read more
