The almond croissants taste exactly like Pillsbury crescent rolls with some almond paste squeezed inside -- flaky but not in the good, buttery, laminated way you expect from a real French-style croissant. The bagels are advertised as "NY-style," flown in from NY - but they're missing that signature chew and density; they're soft and almost bready (and $4.50 a piece!). I've also tried a couple of the sandwiches and they're just... fine. Nothing I'd go out of my way for. The prices are honestly outrageous for what you get. I'm always surprised at how packed the place is, but I guess people are coming for the cute factor and the patio more than the pastries. (I've never tried the coffee, so maybe that's the secret star of the show -- I'll update if I do.) Bottom line: If you're in the neighborhood and want a pretty place to sit outside with friendly counter people, this spot is worth it. Rather than accepting payment, she redeemed all of the Stars in my account without my authorization. To make matters worse, I ordered Grande drinks but was given Venti drinks, which used even more of my rewards than intended. I spend a lot of money earning Starbucks Stars and save them for when I choose to use them. They should never be redeemed because an employee doesn't know how to process a transaction. I also missed out on the Delta promotion because the purchase was never completed as cash as I intended. This experience showed a lack of training and attention to detail. Customers should be able to trust that their rewards and payment preferences will be handled correctly.
