Wow! Been visiting Flagler for 8 years. This time we brought another couple. She lived here for 2 years a few years back, and this was her go to. I had no idea this place was here, as we usually stay further out from the downtown/pier area. My friend said this was her favorite spot in Flagler. It was soooo good. We came in around 11:30 so we chose lunch. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was definitely on point! The portions were generous, the staff was very kind and efficient. The chili cheese dog is so enormous and loaded with toppings, it's a fork and knife deal. My husband loved it. Our friends had the bacon cheeseburger and the Monte Cristo sandwich. They both loved their meals as well! I know it sounds strange, but the have applesauce as a choice of one of your sides. My husband tried it, and he loved it. It wasn't really like what comes from a jar, it was more like large chunks of roasted apples. I was surprised it looked like it was made in house. The restaurant was clean and cute inside. The prices were very reasonable (definitely not "beach" prices). Give this nice place a try! read more

Many friends recommended Friends cafe saying it was a must in Flagler Beach. I really wasn't impressed, the service was good but the food just wasn't there. My burger was decent but my wife's Reuben was basically a sauerkraut sandwich with very thin bread. The restaurant itself has its own charm with license plates everywhere and sports banners but definitely needs a little TLC and dusting. read more

Tried visiting today, but left. We waited to be seated but were but were never even acknowledged. They were busy but a simple "hey I'll be right with you" would have sufficed. The waitress walked passed us a couple times, never said a word. The lady at the bar kept looking at us, never said a word. Then these other people came in, grabbed their own menus and sat themselves. There was no sign to seat yourself so if that's how it is, we weren't aware. My husband and I decided to check out Friends Cafe for breakfast. Their sign says "Come in as strangers leave as Friends". Unfortunately very misleading, we came in, seated ourselves we were brought menus but were not greeted. The lady asked what do you want to drink? My husband ordered a coffee, I just had water. Another lady came and asked what we wanted to order. I ordered sausage and cheese omelette which came with home fries. My husband ordered the Belgian waffle with 2 eggs over easy and bacon. Our food was brought out, it was ok. My omelette wasn't a true omelette it was 2 halves of cooked eggs put together with cheese in the middle. My husband said nothing special about his waffle. We had no idea that our bill was put on table under a plate when our food was brought out. We did enjoy looking at all the different license plates on the walls. Happy we checked it out but nothing there as far as food or service would want us to come back. read more

Friends cafe was an amazing experience, the decor is nice, really liked the license plates from all over the world. My wife and I had fun picking them out. Saw one of the oldest plates, I think it was from 1914-ish. Staff were super friendly and patient with us ordering. The omelette was big and filling, though my wife and I added an extra egg for protein. The French toast was delicious. Definitely would recommend! read more

I brought my father to friends for breakfast, we ordered our food and when it was brought out to us, there was a hair in my food and a thumbprint in my father's omelet. The service was OK at best. I would not recommend friends restaurant to my friends. read more

I wanted to love this place but my eggs in the eggs Benedict were seriously under cooked - cut into them and clear gooey egg white was there. My family's dishes were good though, no complaints there, and the hash was really good - nice and crispy on the edges. The sausage gravy is a little heavy on the pepper which my son enjoyed, but I thought dominates the dish too much. The eggs over medium were cooked like a normal 'over easy' - runny yolks but whites cooked. Maybe the cook just makes all the eggs a little on the raw side? It is a cute little spot and the prices are very reasonable, I would go back but I would order just basics and asked that the eggs be cooked a little more. read more

Such a friendly happy atmosphere as you walk in, It got friendlier as we continued to our table. The decor was walls were decked with fun license plates and car photos. I had the banana walnut pancakes and boy were they ever good The food portions were generous and tasted excellent. The staff is super-friendly and welcoming - although this was our first time in, we were treated like regulars during our visit. Come on in and seat yourself - don't be shy! Cristal was our server, and she was very friendly and talkative. We had some questions about the breakfast menu (which is quite extensive, by the way), and she was happy to answer them. Coffee and tea were in front of us very quickly after arriving, and our food only a few minutes later! Wow! The food was great, and our time spent here was very enjoyable. It seems like a nice restaurant we were seated right away, but we sat there for probably 10 to 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and we had two little kids so ordering quickly was of the essence. When we were finally got our order, the food took forever to get there our waitress who served us was nice but everybody else acted like we were just a pain to be sitting in their restaurant.. the food was fine, but I would not recommend it because of the poor service-we didn't have silverware either and it took about 10 minutes to find silverware.. read more

This little cafe is a gem here in Flagler. We discovered it Saturday morning but ended up eating there Sunday as well while we were in town. My husband and I both loved the crab cake Benedict! I had read that this cafe was rated Flagler Beach's best spot for breakfast, so I wanted to try it out for myself. It didn't disappoint! I had a great experience here and thought that the service and food was on point. I was especially impressed with how they worked a very busy room, while remaining professional and friendly with the customers they were serving. Kudos to them for being so efficient! We ordered the "The Mess" and "Loaded Philly Cheesesteak" omelets, which came out in no time! Both were fresh and very tasty. BEWARE of this place. You will be discriminated and treated poorly if you're poc. I had the worst experience with my family and felt so discriminated against. The two waitresses were absolute nightmares so much so that my husband who is usually a passive guy had to stand up for me for asking a simple question. I will never recommend this place to anyone I know. Place also smells really bad .. I'm from out of town and I've never experienced such horrible service in a place and we travel a lot. 1st time here wasn't happy with what I order, but the second time on point first time was Eggs Benedict this time was Loaded Philly Omelettes home fries extra crispy with onion n peppers and American cheese side order of bacon . We stopped into friends Café yesterday and were pleasantly Surprised. Even though it was 50° we decided to eat outside in the sun because there were so many people that were walking in and out of the restaurant without masks on. The waitress and staff were super friendly and the menu is fantastic. I had a breakfast burrito special with eggs, ham, peppers, onions & breakfast potatoes inside the tortilla... it was very good.
