The Rolex Mortician greeted me as I came into the store & set the tone immediately that everything is exhibition watches ONLY! Not everyone does not have a robust personality I get it but damn this guy barely said anything. I guess he didn't think I could afford after sizing me up. WRONG he was, cause in my hotel safe was a Diamond Crusted Day Date & yellow gold Daytona Paul Newman dial on OysterFlex band. I was just so exhausted from my day at Cabana to open safe to wear one for dinner. It's the common theme of this shop not to sell anything. I'm not a look kinda guy, I'm I'll take it now Rolex gentleman so at least ask questions to make me feel like you're interested. Oh he said we could purchase used CPO watches but I chuckled cause I know those are so highly marketed up it's not worth it. Maybe if you're interested in moving items you'd drop things down to reflect current market value... But hey what do I know I'm only the customer. Having been in this store at least 25 times over the years I've never once been asked what I'm looking for nor have I been offered a Rollie to end my trip... I have owned Rolex watches for 13 years and recently became in the market for a new Rolex stainless Submariner with date so I contacted all five Rolex authorized dealers in Hawaii about my request. I was informed that in last few years, there has been a serious shortage of Rolex stainless steel sport watches. Of the five Rolex authorized dealers in Hawaii, Cheryl at the Baron & Leeds location in Maui stayed in contact with me over the last three and a half months about my request. She contacted me about a month ago and informed me that a stainless Submariner without date would be available but I was holding out for one with the date function. Much to my surprise, while I was on vacation in Belize, I received a text message from her notifying me that one had become available. I responded immediately that I wanted it and would be returning in a few days and could pick it up. She charged my credit card and a few days later I flew to Maui to pick up my brand new Rolex watch. At the store, she greeted me warmly and we celebrated my purchase over a glass of champagne. She fit the watch and explained it's functions and informed me about other watches and promotions that Baron & Leeds has. I hope she is able to acquire my other requests soon. I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with this location and more specifically the sales professional that assisted me. I will start by saying I am a watch enthusiast and am looking to grow my timepiece collection. I love the beauty of high end time pieces as well as the fact that they are typically solid investments or at the very least one of the very few luxury items that you can enjoy and if needed, can exit your position without losing everything (try that with other jewelry you'd wear) I came to Maui on an extended stay in November and purchased a beautiful Wimbledon dial date-just from the sister store to this location (phenomenal experience as well) I also inquired at this store for what I had really been looking for, some hard to find Rolex sport models. As is typical for Rolex sport models I was told I would be put on a list and someone would follow up with me. I developed a relationship with Ryan N and man was I lucky to do so. Ryan is a consummate professional who knows and enjoys watches. Ryan was both very quick with replying to my follow up inquiries as well as pro active in sending me updates on what he had available that may interest me. We had many friendly calls and text exchanges over the course of the last few months. He never pressured a sale or tried to get me into a watch that wasn't on my list of desired items. Ultimately Ryan secured one of the top (if not the top) watch on my list - a two tone gmt master 2 root beer! When Ryan called me the excitement in his voice almost surpassed mine... he was so happy to have secured what he knew would be a very special part of my collection, what a great experience. Our room accommodations weren't ready yet, so we stopped by lunch at the Pint & Cork.. (Between Tiffany's and Prada, so.. yeah). Can't resist a peek at any Rolex Dealers, so we had to walk in after lunch.. Picture it -- straight from a long flight to Maui, kids in tow.. everything short of an ice-cream cone to complete the image, really. They were still happy to show some of the unique special-edition pieces in their showcase. This dealer has both Rolex and Patek, and a nice collection at that. The temptation was strong! Gorgeous pieces, and displayed with pride and attention by Stefanie K. I really enjoyed seeing some unique color combinations in-the-metal and how they fit on the wrist. (Maui sales tax is a sweet ~4%, but they don't ship timepieces to California, where they have other stores.) I really enjoyed our visit, and had Rolex on the brain for the rest of the day. This tiny little shop in the Shops at Wailea features a selection of Rolex watches among other brands. They also offer select brands of fine jewelry. The sales clerk was quite eager to show me the beautiful pieces. Unfortunately I did not find anything that I "needed". I've been searching for a necklace for the past 6 months and finally found one that I loved at Baron & Leeds. My bf went in and out of that store 3 times (within the hour) because I was so indecisive on whether to drop that kind of money... and all the while, Tony was there and very patient with us, and greeted us every time with a smiling face. No pressure at all to buy unlike some of the other stores in Whaler's Village. When we finally decided, Albert helped us with the transaction and was very personable and professional. I went here with my husband last year since we were staying at the Fairmont close by. The male sales associate was very rude and arrogant unlike any of the associates we have worked in the past from other AD's. As we were browsing and asking questions, he made a snide remark "you need to know what you're buying". We were interested in purchasing a watch since we wanted to take advantage of the lower tax rate (compared to mainland US), however he completely blew us off even though my husband was wearing one on his wrist. Even though we were dressed down, we were enthusiastically approached by the sales person, Christy. She was very helpful, and did not in the least bit get annoyed when we asked to see and try on multiple models, and then left to "think" about it. We returned and again was enthusiastically greeted by Christy. She was not at all pushy, but entertaining with her subtle offers for us to celebrate the purchase of a watch with some champagne before we had even decided on one! We ended up getting a Rolex Date Just and are very happy with the purchase. In addition to our pleasant sales experience, saving a few hundred $$ in sales tax helped to seal the deal. What a classy store and what a classy sales team. After shopping at the other stores at The Shops at Wailea, I was so turned off by all of the sales people--I had never experienced such uncomfortable pressure in my life. Sure, there's a recession and Maui retail has suffered, but OMG back off and let me shop! Walking into Baron and Leeds was a breath of fresh air. I never thought I'd be able to afford something here (hello Rolexes...), but we had received a $200 coupon when we had dinner at Duo at the Four Seasons a few nights earlier. So I thought maybe, just maybe, I could find that belated birthday gift my boyfriend kept telling me I needed to pick out for myself. All three members of the staff that day were so sweet to us. No pressure, just patience. I tried on so many different pieces of jewelry, from necklaces, to bracelets, to earrings, and even though I had to say, "that's a bit out of my price range" to things I loved, the salespeople didn't judge me or my unwillingness to spend a ton of money. I ended up with a gorgeous pair of earrings that I absolutely love! When we were ready to pay, it was time to let them know we had a coupon. I had been holding back because I didn't want to deter them from helping us. What was their reaction when I pulled the card out of my purse? Pure delight. They were so excited that I got to use it, so happy that we came in, and truly pleased that their cross marketing was working. Stephanie is amazing!! She was very helpful and didn't create a lot of pressure for us. We ended up purchasing a Diamond DateJust as my wife's first Rolex and the experience was simply excellent. Before we purchased it, we decided to talk about the potential purchase in private, and while we toured the rest of the shopping plaza, so we walked out of the store. Even though we walked, and it appeared to Stephanie that she had lost the sale, she remained very courteous and professional as we left the store. About 20 minutes later we returned and purchased the watch from her. Cocktails were on them as we sat and had a few laughs with other customers and as we did the paperwork. He took the time to help educate me on the bucket list Rolex watch that I've always admired and wanted. Typically where I live in California walking into a place like this, sales persons would never spend as much time as he did or even offer me to wear the watch. Stopped in to see if they had any Dayton's in stock. I was asked on a scale of 1-10 how close I was to buying??? I said about an 8, I was told they didn't have one for me. Also that they don't do orders. I thought that was odd because you can get one on line and shipped to you in about 4 days. Since I have been looking at pre-owned for about $10000. I just wanted to know what a new one went for. The sales lady was not very good at making me feel like they wanted me at the store, kind of rude and talked down to us. She wouldn't give me a price I could buy it for until I said I could buy it now if you had one. Guess what?? She said have a seat I'll bring it out now. I was floored by this, not even wanting to show it to me until I said I'll buy it now if you have one. This is one of the worst sales process I've seen from someone in a while. I don't remember her name, older lady with badly died hair that looks permed.... Before I spend good money I wanted to make sure I liked the feel and the look. I just found one at amazon and I am having it shipped for the same price!!!! After window shopping around my hotel while on my honeymoon in Maui, I somehow ended up buying a Rolex from Baron & Leeds. This was a couple of years ago. The experience was great. My sales person was very welcoming and proactive. He even gave me some beer as I waited for him to resize my watch. I decided to just buy the watch here because I've been eying the watch for a while and figured it would good to save on the cheaper sales tax here compared to California. Another reason I decided to make the purchase was that my sales person told me that after having purchased a watch from them, I would have the ability to make a request for a new model (that's limited or hard to find), or at least be notified if they come across another model that I was interested in. Well, here I am, a couple years later, interested in a new release from Rolex. I texted my sales person about putting me on a waitlist for the watch that I want. But come to find out, they only allow that for people who have bought a gold Rolex from them. This wasn't disclosed to me before I bought my first watch. I'm disappointed, to say the least. I should've established my watch buying relationship elsewhere. So if you're a watch collector or a watch enthusiast who is looking for a go-to supply of new release watches, this is not the place. read more

I had a fantastic experience buying a timepiece from Baron & Leeds. I started out my Maui vacation in Lahaina, so my first visit was to the Whaler's Village location. I met Linda there who was friendly and helpful, however, they didn't have the exact watch I wanted. She made a call over to the Wailea location and they had the hard-to-find watch. She took my credit card information and held the watch for me. Fast-forward 3 days and we've moved hotels to be in Wailea. Spencer Pang, the General Manager, greeted me. He finalizes the transaction, walks me through the watch, and educates me about the warranty/service policies. Spencer is awesome! Super knowledgeable and a good salesman, yet easy-going. When I'm ready to buy another watch, I'm definitely coming back to Baron & Leeds! The only (slightly) negative experience that I would dock a half star for is that I was given a $200 voucher that was not applicable towards my watch, even though the coupon didn't list restrictions. Nonetheless, this was still a 5 star experience. I was very clear with the salesperson that I wasn't going to buy anything and I was just looking, and he still gave me great service. He convinced me to try on a $5k necklace and a $10k Rolex. I had the pleasure of visiting this particular location when I was vacationing in Maui last week. This was a very nice and upscale jewelry store that carried lots of high end watches. The very first thing that gotten my attention was just how nice and friendly the staffs were. I want to give a special thanks to Barbara, Kathy, Tom and Sun for their un-divided attention and excellent customer service. The staff were very professional and extremely knowledgeble on the watches that they carried. I found the perfect watch that I have been looking for the last 5 years... the unicorn of all watches... that's right... THE SS Rolex Daytona! I have been to over 25 Rolex affiliated stores from East to West coast, and have never seen a brand new one sitting in the show room. I must say, that most of the times when I ask about this watch, the sales person would give me this subtle smirk... as if they are above the buyer. THAT is the difference between all the other high end watch stores and Baron & Leeds! Their staff treated me with respect and care thru out the entire process. They even gave me an extra night to think about my purchase because the watch carried a hefty tag. There were no sales pressure from the staff at all. I just want to say that I have never even been inside of a Baron & Leeds nor know any of the sales staff prior to my trip last week. I can go as far as to say that they are THE best sales team I have encountered during my 5 years of search. If you are in a market for a new watch of any kind, you can't go wrong by stoping by this store or any other branches in the US. The service is still great and the ladies working in the store are very professional and knowledgeable about the rolex watches I was looking at.
