Very interested in a Mercedes S450 that was falsely advertised by Baron on CarGurus. Spoke with Carla from Baron Auto who gave false information that this Mercedes was inside their show room and had no scratches. We made the 2 hour drive from South Jersey to see the car with an appointment. When we arrived, the car fax showed 2 owners instead of the advertised only one owner, the car was not inside the showroom, but was across the street in a lot and was filthy, the car had numerous scratches and missing paint on the back bumper. So upset we were lied to and wasted our time. Can't believe they didn't clean the car knowing we were driving up to see it and lied on the condition of the car, location of the car and the advertising of the car. I can't think of a worse place to buy a car! I thought the old "used car" dealership was outdated and no longer existed! Oh was I wrong. I called the dealership and spoke to an eager sales person named Sean. We set a date and time to drive a particular car I was very interested in. A few days later I even confirmed the appointment. When I arrived at the dealer at 10AM (the appointed time), Sean seemed surprised to see me, and even worse, the car was jammed into the showroom and was far from ready for a test drive. We agreed I would come back at 5PM to drive it. Got there at 5:05PM and the car was even further buried on the showroom floor. Sean told me I could not drive the car unless I know the numbers. Last minute they tacked on an extended warranty that we never even discussed. They guaranteed service to the car, however, when we told them the tire wheel was cracked, they said we damaged the car and were not responsible (we hadn't even driven it yet). I wish I could give them no stars, after putting $7k down on a 2017 bmw just two days after purchasing my vehicle I had numerous problems, including head gasket repairs, fuel injectors, water pump, spark plugs, coil packs the list goes on. The head gasket in particular stopped functioning less than 2 months of purchasing the vehicle and the service center had it for half of that "repairing" other things. It took them over two months to repair the head gasket that comes with a 2 year warranty and less than a year later i was being told I need a new one. When I reached out to this dealership about repairing my head gasket I was told I have to pay $3,900 out of pocket, because THEY don't have the same workers in THEIR shop. Avoid this place at all costs! I bought a vehicle from them in the beginning of October, they were supposed to fix the windshield and fix the tire. They fixed the windshield but did nothing with the tire but put air in there. When they gave me the paperwork, they added an extended warranty that I did not ask for nor did I sign for it. They forged my signature on the paperwork. I called them back a week later to let them know that I did not want the warranty. They then sent me a form to cancel it. It is November 30th and the warranty is still not cancelled. This warranty added $4000 onto my loan. I am going to contact an attorney about this dealership because I have all the documentation of me reaching out to them to cancel this warranty and the paperwork that they forged my signature. Baron Auto sold me a premium warranty for the new Lincoln Navigator XL that I purchased. The cost was $7k + tax and was supposed to include bumper to bumper coverage, basic maintenance package, and be accepted at all Lincoln dealers. When I was due for my first oil change, which was supposed to be included in the package, the Lincoln dealer told me every Lincoln dealer does not accept 3rd party warranties and I would have to pay out of pocket for all services. I confirmed this with 4 other dealers. It's been over 12 months, after 100 hundreds of phone calls, They still claim the check is in the mail, and I have a warranty that I can't use. read more

Was told the vehicle would be ready on Thursday or Friday at the latest due to a missing floor mat, missing washer fluid cap, peeling clear coat on a fender, missing carpet in the trunk, broken door seal moulding, visibly messed up dash screen, and a 5 year old battery (that showed up on the screen as needing to be replaced), only to have my calls ignored on Thursday and finally called back by not even the manager to let me know they won't be making any repairs. Was told the car needs to be bought as is and "if you want to buy a car in new condition then you should buy a new car." This is after I already had forgone my flight I booked home to North Carolina and will now need to purchase a new flight. Totaling a roughly $800 loss due to this dealerships lack of communication between the manager and sales person as well as with their customer trying to purchase a $23k vehicle. Would absolutely not recommend anyone to do business with this establishment. Manager was extremely rude and never planned to make any repairs or replacements on the vehicle. Pretty certain wanting a vehicle that has all the floor mats and carpet in the trunk doesn't classify as a "new" vehicle. Now the owner and sales man reassured me that they will get me the best deal possible and it was but it came with a huge catch. I have... correction had near perfect credit and never had an issue getting approved for any loan. What the owner and sales man didn't tell me was that they would keep running my credit multiple times to get a variety of interest rates on available loans. I baught the car which was originally listed as 14,000$ they boosted it up to over 21k I was told that they lost cars for 2,000$ less to get more business. I drove the car for around 2 to 3 weeks and I had to bring it back because it was not inspected, then they proceeded to hold my car for over a month (around 40 days) and lie to me saying it will be done the next day and saying they just need to drive it to inspect it they ended up putting 1,000 miles on my car and I also went to the shop to grab something out of my car and I find 2 honey bun rappers in it. I kept contacting the guy who sold me the car marquis and he ended up telling me it's not my problem your car isn't fixed (they also don't give out loner cars) then when I get my car back finally the air box wasn't properly put on which could have been bad if I drove it home like that. Also when I went in to buy the car I wanted it to be in my name which I clearly stated I want my uncle to co-sign then I figure out they made my uncle the owner and me the co-signer. After threatening to walk out they dropped the price to the original amount and gave me a 3 month warranty or so I thought. The only reason I continued to do business with them is I thought I had 3 months in case the vehicle was a total pos. 3 days after driving it home the check engine light came on. They had reset it before selling it. I replaced the thermostat myself it being a fairly simple and cheap repair doing it yourself. A month later the engine started ticking. Turned out it needs new rocker arms. This repair is extensive and expensive. We live over an hour away and I'm an only parent raising 3 kids. After calling them and leaving messages for several people for several days I never got a call back. They finally connected me to an actual person and I set up an appointment. Drove all the way out there, left it and got a call back later that day that they were not going to honor the warranty. They are hands down the shadiest "people" I've ever dealt with. My sales experience showed Baron Auto to be either unorganized, or evasive, neither of which reflects a trustworthy auto dealership. Buyer beware. I bought a 2017 Dodge Durango Citadel on 4/18/2020 from Baron Auto, reportedly under their NIADA certified pre-owned program. I took the Durango to my local Dodge service center (DeCozen Fiat Chrysler Dodge Jeep) on 5/11/2020 to diagnose white smoke coming from the exhaust upon cold starting the vehicle. Their diagnosis was compromised head gaskets, requiring replacement of both gaskets on this vehicle's v8 engine. Additionally, DeCozen found a thick stop-leak type product in the system, such as Bars Leaks, which was fouling the water pump. They recommended replacing the water pump on the vehicle and flushing the cooling system to remove the Bars Leaks and prevent potential future engine problems due to the residue. The cost of the head gasket repair was covered by this vehicle's NIADA CPO powertrain warranty coverage. DeCozen stated the water pump replacement and flushing service would cost $871+tax, and would not be covered under warranty due to the presence of Bars Leaks, which is not an approved repair solution under Dodge warranty. I asked Baron to cover the cost of the water pump and engine flush treatment. The Durango was marketed as having passed a NIADA CPO inspection, which includes engine, cooling, and road test components which all involve this diagnosed powertrain problem. That NIADA coverage conveyed a sense of security that powertrain problems would be covered and repaired under warranty, a statement Baron Auto repeated during the sale of the vehicle. After calling Fred at Baron Auto for five days, on 5/16/2020 Emir from Baron Auto spoke with Fred while I held the line, and told me Baron Auto would take care of the water pump/flush service repair cost. After the repairs were completed on 5/20/2020, Fred subsequently refused to pay DeCozen, and insisted I pay for the service and Baron Auto would write a check to me. Another week of repeated phone calls by DeCozen's repair service shop and me passed in which Fred was consistently "not in yet" or "with a customer and unavailable." On 5/26/2020, I could wait no longer to have my supposedly certified pre-owned vehicle back, and I was forced to pay for the water pump and flush repairs myself. I was disappointed with Baron Auto's customer service. They proved extremely difficult to reach via telephone, practicing a defense technique of answering the phone but not connecting me to the ultimate person I was trying to reach. A verbal contract was reached on the water pump repair after a week of waiting, only to be breached by Baron Auto when it was time to pay the bill. I would highly caution anyone looking to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Be extremely well-organized and certain of everything before closing your deal, especially in these times of Covid-19 restrictions on business activities and test driving. They didn't keep their promise to me. read more

I'm not one to complain much. I'm a pretty easy-going calm and collected kind of man, however; I've had to put my foot down with this dealership. In November of 2020 I saw an ad for a 2019 Dodge Charger GT being sold for the price of $16,675. Saw that and thought "wow, a bargain or possible problems with the vehicle."; but out of curiosity and intense searching for another vehicle for my family, I decided I'd go and look everything through and through and possibly purchase (and I did, unfortunately). I got there and they told me that the advertised $16,675 was a "typo" but that they would still "honor" that price for me even though it was their fault. Long story short, they never did, and funny enough just two days after the purchase they updated the price of the vehicle on Cars.com up to $19,995. Nearly five hours in wait time later in processing and paper work etc. their sales rep (Derek or Derick) pitches me their scam of a warranty. While he explains the Veritas Service warranty and tells me that the total price of the warranty is an extra $3500, my fiancé and I discussed it and told him we didn't want it. Derek then tells us that it's "not optional, it comes with the vehicle." I asked him right after "why is it not optional?" And he says to me "it's marketed on the ad and needs to be with the price of the vehicle.". I was very hesitant but still very excited to get myself a new vehicle , and I figured I can always cancel it, so I said screw it and took the chance. (Little did I know they would rather die than have me cancel the service warranty.) They then had me sit down with "Fred" who is their financing manager and I ended up paying much more over the advertised price online. Now after I took the car home, I immediately called Veritas in order to ask them what I would need to do to cancel the service warranty. They inform me that I can either ask the dealership to cancel it for me or I can write a notarized letter requesting cancellation of my service warranty policy and e-mail it to them. Guess what else, I even explained to them that the crooked dealership rep told me that their warranty wasn't optional and the Veritas rep was in shock and disbelief, letting me know that they just wanted money out of me. Months go by after me calling and calling (and more calling) to the dealership in order to have my service warranty cancelled and Yup! You guessed it! They never did. They always gave me the run-around claiming they've already done it or that they'll get to it. MONTHS passed. I took initiative and grew tired of them messing with my money, so I wrote and notarized my own letter of cancellation but the Veritas guys unfortunately had to mail the reimbursement check to the dealership since my vehicle hadn't been paid off. A couple more months pass as I continue calling the dealership in order to get my check back, and they continue to give me the run-around; claiming they never received the check or that they already "sent it out" to the bank in financing with. Never happened. I'm now going through Nassau County's Consumer Protection and filing a complaint with the NYSDMV in order to hopefully get some of my money back. so it all started 2 months ago when I purchased a 2014 A6 from them. in the beginning they were all nice and friendly but shortly after pur everything changed. 1st I live in ct so I could not take delivery of the car on the same day as I had another car with me and they told me no problem we will deliver the car which took a week. 2nd upon receiving the car noticed that headlight was damaged, wheel locks were missing, wheel fender cover missing, trunk realese was broken so I contacted Terry the sales person but he never answered to the issue. 3rd 10/16/23 i gave them 7k down payment for the car and was giver temporary plates which were going to expire on 11/21/23 so on 11/19 I again contacted the sales person(Terry) on the 19th stating that the plates were going to expir in 2 days, he reels me that he is going to check on i and call me back which he never does so I call him back the next day and he tells me that I never got the inspection done which they never told me. fast forward to next day I text him a copy and mail the original as well... as of today 12/06/23 have not received plates and every time I call the blame the dmv. also was told by them to drive the car and they will reimburse me for any tickets but I not going to do that which is very stupid meanwhile car has been sitting in the garage as I can't drive and they keep giving me the run around. 4th spoke with my lawyer and he called them in my behalf. so he calls be back with in 10 minutes and they hanged up on him. so we are going to take them to court and it seems they are not going to do anything about it. so if you are looking for a car safe yourself the trouble and do not got there as they are absolute crooks. read more

Test drove the car, the salesperson made us believe that this was it, no more negotiation of car price, gave us a copy of agreed upon price, fees, tax, etc & made me pay part of downpayment ahead of time; I agreed to all they wanted. I am told come back because finance guy is not here. We travel a week later into NY again... & this is when they really showed their disgusting practices. 1st wanted me to pay rest of deposit before I could see finance rates or anything else, I refused; then they tried to tell me that to get lower finance rate I needed to purchase warranty; refused to purchase warranty; then they told me we cannot sell you the car at the agreed upon price, you need to pay extra $2000 because "we are losing money," I said no & asked them to honor what we agreed upon which still had $3500 of fees & extra charges added to internet price... excuse after excuse, saying because I was pre-approved for a particular rate with a bank, they wouldn't make money from financing so I said ok what bank do you need to use to make $? I'm willing to work with you... they just said even with that we wouldn't "make money"... so it was either fork over extra $2000 that came out of thin air or walk away. BEWARE OF SCAM! STAY AWAY from this place! Came to buy a car with cash, they gave us a price and confirmed multiple times that the price was final. After about an hour and us filling out a bunch of paperwork, they told us that we have to do financing ( which would cost us about $500 more assuming we pay it in full ASAP). We agreed to that and kept filling out the paperwork. After paying the initial payment they told us we also have to buy full insurance covering since the car is financed. That would be another $500 extra. We agreed to that. After few more hours of waiting for their financial department to prepare all the paperwork we go into Fred's office who tells us that 'by the way there are these two extra fees that are $2500 extra'. And that's after we have asked the sales person multiple times if the price is final. So the price went up $3500! We ended up leaving after wasting 5 hrs there. Long story short, be prepared that they will try to get you excited about a new car, wear you down, and then rip you off by adding a few extra thousands dollars in fees. read more
