After discovering damage to my garment following their cleaning services, I made repeated efforts to resolve the issue directly and professionally. I spoke with a representative on the phone identifying himself as "Evan," who was not only dismissive of the damage and rude, but also refused to escalate the issue to anyone above him, repeatedly stating, "I am the manager," and "you will need to subpoena anyone above me." This initial interaction was obstructive and vexing, and it set the tone for what followed. Rather than engaging in straightforward resolution, Baroni Cleaners escalated the matter by invoking and copying a purported attorney and law firm in subsequent correspondence in a manner that conveyed legal representation, coercive pressure, and intimidation. These communications included threats of legal consequences and civil action for refusing to remove my honest and accurate review documenting the damage to my garment and my experience with the company. Their emails were written in imposing legalistic language and accompanied by a proposed "settlement contract." The proposed "settlement terms" were conditioned on removal of any existing reviews, permanent non-disparagement barring me from posting any future reviews, confidentiality provisions effectively preventing me from sharing information even in pursuit of outside legal remedies, and restrictions on sharing evidence--all as a condition of compensation. These demands were paired with suggestions that truthful consumer reviews or good-faith chargebacks could expose me to legal consequences. I subsequently noticed that the email address used for their purported counsel repeatedly bounced back as undeliverable, which prompted me to investigate and verify the legitimacy of this representation. That inquiry revealed that the cited attorney and law firm, in fact, have no association with Baroni Cleaners whatsoever and provided no representation or advice in this dispute. The attorney later confirmed in writing, copying Baroni Cleaners, that they do not and have never represented Baroni Cleaners, had no involvement in this matter, and did not authorize the use of their name or email address in any capacity. This confirmation was unequivocal. I found Baroni's response to my attempts at fair resolution deeply troubling for multiple reasons. In consumer disputes, such speech-restrictive provisions are widely recognized as legally unenforceable and contrary to established public policy and consumer protection law. Businesses are not entitled to condition compensation for service disputes on the surrender of lawful consumer speech or statutory protections. When these concerns were directly raised, Baroni withdrew its prior posturing along with any offer of compensation for the damage, denying they had implied fictitious legal representation despite the record, and unilaterally declaring the "matter closed" without addressing the seriousness of these actions, their implications, or the core of the original dispute: my destroyed garment, for which no satisfactory remedy has been provided. What occurred here did not arise from mutual disagreement or ordinary hard bargaining. It arose after a customer sought fair resolution and was met instead with aggressive legal posturing and coercive tactics to intimidate them out of seeking fair resolution. That is why I am documenting this publicly, and why the full record of correspondence has been forwarded to the appropriate local authorities for independent investigation. Customers deserve to know not only how a business performs when transactions go smoothly, but how it responds when issues arise. Based on this experience, I urge caution. read more

Baroni Cleaners is hands-down the best cleaner I've tried in OC and they are miles ahead of the competition in many ways, including their free pickup and delivery service (I just leave a small tip), they actually provide a complimentary custom laundry bag for customers to use on future orders, they keep the customer updated via text message and email the whole time and I think this amounted to about 7-8 total contact points per order, and they are able to respond to inquires via text (although it might not be immediate). The clothes felt truly clean although the smell was just acceptable (not a fresh and clean smell but not bad). What stood out to me was that they use non toxic, chemical free, and organic cleaning something I didn't even realize I cared about until I saw (and smelled) the difference.
