Not sure I'm happy with Barons today. They changed out the take and bake French rolls for some off brand take and bake that tasted terrible after following the package instructions. I don't know why markets try to change out items when they have success with the brand they have. Kudos to the Manager for helping me but the management needs to make sure they have quality products all around. read more

Barons is literally my favorite grocery store! The prices are right, the produce is always fresh and their salad/soup bar are amazing ! I really wish we had one closer to my neighborhood or else I'd be coming her all the time. My husband just recently bought me a salad and half of a Turkey and Provolone sandwich on multigrain bread for only a total of 8 dollars. Beats going somewhere else to spend 10-15 on fast food! They also have many health options and also added a olive oil and balsamic bar that's basically unlimited taste testing.. and let me tell ya, every single one is good! Been shopping here for nearly three years and still loving it! Just went in today for nuts, fruit and veggies, etc. when I went down the aisle to find Indian simmer sauces and found my favorite brand, "Tiger Tiger." Fresh homemade sauces are best of course but these are by far the best tasting you can find in a store. At least to my taste buds. I've tried several other brands but "Tiger Tiger" tikka masala, butter chicken, korma, and all their other flavors are delicious! We use them with either chicken or pork, but if you eat vegetarian tofu works, too. I've gotten to know the staff here over many shopping trips. I like the service and friendliness, and the work ethic. They are always refilling items. Their beer and wine selection is great. Plus it's an easy store to shop in. Prices are actually better on many produce items. I'm serious. I bought a head of Romaine lettuce at Albertson's the week before that was half as big as Barons and cost $2.19 while Barons Romaine was full sized and cost me only $1.29. It is a smaller version of Trader Joes,and an upscale version of Henry's. Since this is Temecula,they carry wines from all the wineries,they also carry a variety of beers. I bought 4 boxes of of mango Mochi ice cream, 4 boxes of green tea Mochi, large container of marinated artichokes,2 containers of fresh strawberries,and a case of cold Sam Adams. The cashier was very friendly. When I told her that I wasn't from Temecula, she placed my groceries in 2 Baron's cloth grocery bags,and thanked me for shopping there. I gave her a wink. As I drove into the garage, I heard someone SCREECHING a Bon Jovi song from the karaoke.. I have been shopping in Baron's market for the past 3 months since it is closer to my new home in Temecula than Sprouts where I shopped for years when living in San Marcos. Tonight was the last time I will shop at this store. The cashier was rude, abrupt, and insulting. While this was the worse case of this, it isn't the first time. Every time I go to my parents house in Temecula I stop at Baron's to bring some Temecula wines back home with me... Love the wine selection, they always have reasonable prices on wine and lots of $2-6 wines to choose from... They have more expensive wines too, but I love getting the cheaper ones so I can grab like 6 or 7 bottles to take back with me... The beer selection is great also, I never thought I would see Three Philosophers or Samuel Smiths in a grocery store of any kind, but there they are, @ Barons... I always have to hit up the olive bar, there are about 20 different selections of Olives, Artichokes, Peppers, Stuffed peppers, etc.. Last night I filled up a container of delectable treats for less than 5 bucks, one of the stars being a stuffed pepper that was stuffed with prociutto wrapped cheese. YUMMMMMMMMMM... You can get Boars head sandwiches in their deli section for $3.99, its a buck cheaper than vons which isnt even Boars head... I love shopping at Barons Its my favorite Grocery store ever ... Their produce kills anything else in the area. Really amazing pears, check. Salty pretzel peanut butter nugget things in a scoopable form, check. Lots of cheeses and olives to choose from, check. I feel like every time I go I find something new. Like last week, I tried this massive orange thing that was the size of a grapefruit. It was really good. Baron's is kind of an up-scale, specialty grocery store, ala Trader Joe's, but with a better selection. You won't be able to fill all of your grocery needs here, but it is fun to come and browse around for things you don't really need, but want anyway. Case in point . . . this is the only place in the Temecula Valley that sells slices of cheesecake from the Incredible Cheesecake Company in San Diego. I kind of wish they sold whole cheesecakes, but it is probably better that they don't. I need a whole ICC cheesecake like I need another 3 inches on my waistline, and eating one of those would likely result in that. But I digress . . . This is the place to come and browse for that Christmas or New Years party. You can find all kind of interesting items that will work for a party, like olives, a great selection of cheeses, wines from all of the local wineries, and cheesecake, let's not for get cheesecake. We went wine tasting in Temecula last weekend. As we were about to buy some local wine at one of the wineries, a local mentioned that there are better deals to be had a Baron's just down the road. Wow, were they correct. The $12.99 wines at the local wineries were $6.99 at Baron's. The selection of other items, particularly produce is also excellent. We ended up spending much less than we would have at the wineries and came home with many bottles of wine and groceries for half a week! read more

This is a pretty good market. It is more "health food centered", but not as good as some other places (such as mothers, whole foods). However, it had a really good selection of more health/natural products. I wish their produce section had a bigger organic selection. That would be the main thing I would want to be different about this place. The prices seem to be very good for their product selection. read more

Baron's is an excellent alternative grocery store. They have many health food options for those unique things you are looking for such as vegan cheeses like Daiya or Tofutti sour cream. My favorite part of Baron's is their bulk bins. You can really stretch your food dollar by buying bulk items like lentils, beans, quinoa, nutritional yeast, or rice. I like to put these items in the slow cooker and make a big pot of beans or lentil soup. They have a nice salad bar and good selection of specialty olives and well as nice local, organic produce. The store is clean and has an unhurried environment. They offer samples of the produce in season such as sliced oranges which is nice to see if they are sweet enough before you buy. read more

Baron's Market is a real gem in Temecula. Especially since it's got the best selections and prices on the local winery's goodies. Not to mention that they are conveniently located right at the start of wine country (Rancho California/Meadows Parkway). In addition to their large local wine selections, Barons is a great place for me to pick up some healthy and organic food options that I can't really find anywhere else. This place is great. The produce section has a huge variety and the baked goods are tasty. If I have one suggestion is they pump up the poultry section and seafood section. The beef and pork selections are really great and the quality of the grass fed sun fed beef is amazing. The craft beer sections is second to none in Temecula. Not your boring local Albertsons! This place stands out for two main things: it offers a nice selection of healthy foods, and it has an AWESOME beer section. They have a Jacobin Flemish sour made with rye that is extremely rare. My brother is a home brewer and a hardcore beer fanatic, and he was shocked they had this. They also have some nice rustic breads, and a good selection of nuts and sugar-free candy. Their salad bar was a bit sad. It was nowhere as good as Whole Food's. I got some of their vegetarian chili, and it was just average too. The guy in the check out line was friendly. No issues there. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars from me is that their prices are pretty steep. They charge what Whole Foods does, but offers fewer choices, so this doesn't seem right to me at all. They need to lower their damn prices. Also, their salad bar was lame. Not many choices at all, and some of the dishes looked as if they had been sitting out for a long time. read more

Wow, what a great market! I stumbled across this quaint grocery store while I was out in Temecula for business. I thought I would drop in and check it out and I'm glad I did. The store is as beautiful as a grocery store can be. Its less-hippy then Jimbo's Naturally and nicer than the newly merged Henry's/Sprout's/Boney's etc. However, overall, the products offered all similar. They had a nice selection of bread, bulk food and cheese and organic products abound. And I was glad to see that they had my whole wheat pastry flour that I like...now its time to make cookies. Ohmygoodness keep me AWAY from Baron's. I could shop here every day, and even though I don't live in Temec anymore I always want to find excuses to go here. It has everything you'd expect from a gourmet grocery store, except for two things: 1. The prices are not outrageous (can you hear me, Whole Foods?) 2. You don't have to go to a separate store for household items like baggies, foil, etc. They have a great wine selection, with almost all local wineries represented. They staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They have individual little filet mignons, vaccum sealed and delish. I want to move into the aisle between the frozen foods. They have a great selection of natural, organic and just plain high-brow delicious foods. Hooray for the cheese selection in particular. read more

Finally we do not have to make the long commute to San Diego to shop at Barrons! Fantastic wine/spirits/beer selection, best bread in any grocery store in town, fabulous produce, cheapest cheese on the planet, humongous olive bar, very high quality beef...but very expensive (you get what you pay for). It's a shame that people automatically walk into this market and assume it's going to be pricy, because their produce is actually the best deal in town. I've walked out of here with 2-3 large bags stuffed with the freshest produce (much of which is local and/or organic) for $20. True, they have hard to find and gourmet/upscale items, including an amazing olive bar, good assortment of imported cheeses, and lots of fresh-made antipasti. They also have a killer selection of wine & liquor (Baron's is a small locally-owned chain that got its start as a wine store and they have stayed true to their roots.) They also have a lot of hard to find kosher items, especially in the frozen section. You can't do one-stop-shopping here, but definitely put it on your rotation for produce. read more

My wife and I both love Baron's Market. Their fresh vegetables are excellent in both quality and price and they have a fantastic salad bar with an incredible selection. Their store roasted chickens are smaller than Costco but more than make up for it in ENORMOUS flavor... such a good pick-up at $4.99 for a wine country picnic. The Boars Head meat selection is another big plus (REAL Bratwurst) along with an very nice hot soup bar (Italian wedding soup!!!). It is true that some items are a little higher in price than the big box markets but it a small price to pay to support such a fine family owned local market that takes such good care of their customers. They support local farmers and olive oil producers as well. Oh, and lastly, their beer and wine choices are the best in town and are priced just right! Cheers! Eat that Chicken! read more

This is a great friendly neighborhood market. Baron's is located right outside of wine country and is a great place to pick up some local wines at a great price on your way out. Reluctant to give them less than 3 Wanted to be able to give more. The amount of organic choices was not adequately liked. There were a few. The standard "Amy's" in the frozen and pasta section. The standard spices, strangely no tumeric. Prolly cause they don't really "get it" This is a clean friendly store. Just more like a fancier trader joes. This area so needs a GOOD organic store. The ones here are hit & miss. Usually overpriced. The prices were not horrible here. They do have many "artisan" food goodies. Nice cheeses. LARGE wine section. I'm not into sugar so I avoid all that nonsense too. It's a nice clean store. Your going to have to go yourself. It's worth a go see. I prolly won't be back for awhile. Good customer service by my checker. I let him know I was disappointed In The lack of organic choices. I then handed him the bags I bring for shopping. Love Baron's - I'm here 2-3 times a week because I work out at EOS and I love the small town market feel. I also note that while it feels like it might be a pricey market. Many of the items here are priced well lower than Sprouts - especially Applegate meat products which I purchase often. Best prices in town for local wine too! My ONE wish... that they offered Organic Rotisserie chicken - even if it's cooked in the same oven... worried about getting them juicy used brined chickens. read more

Such a great market! Produce and selection has a Whole Foods meets Bristol farms kinda vibe, except they were a little lacking in the ready made food department around 730pm. My favorite part is that they have a special olive oil area where you can taste all their olive oils, kind of like the tasting I tried up near Solvang, but it's included in their market. How fun! I got some great Meyer lemon olive oil and Tuscany olive oil from here and i love both! They also have some of the best tasting fresh squeeze OJ I've ever tried. I was torn between three and four stars because I love the salad bar, but found a big hair just as my mouth was salivating over the anticipation of my creation. Trashed it. I love the soup bar, but it is just as expensive as a bowl of soup in a restaurant. Their Italian food section gets 5 stars from me. They bring in the best pasta and olive oil. Meat section... Meh Wine and beer...perfecto! Prices? Baron's doesn't put any items on sale. It is what it is. Some things like cereal, pasta and dairy are very fairly priced but their frozen goods are high as Roots. $6 for an Amy's frozen dinner? Staff are great and it is never really crowded. I like it when the BBQ and should sample their meats this way more often. I bought a balsamic glaze for steaks this way and was sold for life. read more
