I don't come here often enough, but crave it all the time--and I'm not even a big coffee drinker. While it is definitely worth the trek from Escondido, I simply wish I were closer for convenience reasons. They have a small menu, but that's why everything they roast is so damn good! They NEVER miss. Best decaf vanilla latte I've ever had. They're pretty quick too, but not sure if it's because every time I go there's barely anyone there. It's a small shop with a few tables, but seems like a good spot to study or catch up with a loved one. read more

Stopped by to get some morning coffee. As advertised , this is a very minimalist shop. It's like a old school coffee shop. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Have you seen when Harry Meets Sally? If not, you should. When it comes to coffee, I'm Sally. Ok, when it comes to a lot of food...I digress. I ordered a half sweet non fat three shot regular size Mayan Mocha (I don't like too sweet) and it did not disappoint. As he roasts his own beans you know it's going to be good. And smooth. And tasty. Maybe not the best place to work out of (a little small) but goodness, tasty tasty coffee. There's very limited seating here, but plenty of parking, which is convenient. Because the space is small, there's usually just one barista working, so service can be a bit slow--but the wait is generally manageable. The latte I ordered was good. I've visited a couple of times, and the experience with the baristas has been hit or miss--some visits they're warm and friendly, other times not as much. There's only a small amount of outdoor seating, but the overall vibe is relaxed and chill. I'd definitely come back. read more

Without a doubt the best cup of coffee one can find in San Diego. The vanilla latte is so creamy, but light, and you can easily tell they make their own syrups. My one wish in life is that they were located closer to where I live, but at least I work nearby. It is perfection. read more

This place has great coffee, I'd definitely come back again. We ordered the white mocha and honey cinnamon, and both flavors were good without overpowering the coffee. It's a small place with very limited seating so it's more of a grab and go spot for coffee. The person working was friendly and helpful. read more

Super friendly service, and quite patient with me on first time here trying to decide what to try first. I went with the Mayan mocha (iced, because why not), and it is delicious! Rich espresso cuts through all the other flavors. But the cocoa and light chili combination bring out all sorts of feels. The store front is small but clean and modern, which I was told is because they use most of their space in the back to actually roast their beans on site. Overall a great local shop that I'll be sure to try again! read more

My Baby Girl was visiting San Diego this weekend to help celebrate my birthday, so whenever she visits, we try to get a morning workout in. After getting our fitness on, my daughter wanted to grab a coffee, so I asked her where she wanted to go. After looking at Yelp, she was able to find a local coffee shop that had a high rating. This was our first time experiencing coffee from Idego Coffee Roasters and I thought my hot white chocolate mocha was one of the better tasting versions I've had in our area, but an opportunity area was their customer service. Idego is located in Poway, CA. and it can be reached by taking the 15 freeway exiting off of Poway Road and heading east. You'll find the coffee shop in the Michael's and Grocery Outlet shopping center just before Community Road. Idego is next to Sushi Monster, Jersey Mike's Subs, and Five Guys. There's a Little Caesar's a few doors down from the coffee joint and it's across the street from Wing Stop. There is plenty of parking in this shopping center. Idego is not a big shop with three tables/chairs, ledge top seating next to one of the walls, and there's covered umbrella outdoor seating. As you enter, you'll immediately notice a mural of the world with colored countries, which I'm assuming outlines the areas where the type of coffee Idego serves can be found. There was a young lady and middle aged man working behind the counter who were busy preparing coffee for other customers. I asked the young lady about their Mayan coffee flavor and I didn't feel she was too friendly. Idego doesn't have an extensive menu and after seeing a small display of pastries, the shop appears to just focus on serving coffee. It doesn't have an extensive menu and what it serves are Espresso drinks, Specialty coffees, Iced coffees, Other drinks, and Not coffee. On their counter, there was a worn paper detailing the following flavors scratch made by them: vanilla, chocolate ganache, dairy free chocolate, white chocolate, Mayan, and lavender. After perusing their menu, I ordered a large White Chocolate Mocha. When my name was called to grab my coffee, the gentlemen barista beautifully made what looked like a layered heart on the top of my coffee. When I asked for a sleeve, they had none to offer. Despite not having an accessory for hot drinks, my first taste of the white chocolate mocha had a slight bitter coffee bean taste, but I thought after taking sip after sip on our drive to do errands, my coffee drink was flavorful and rich. It was creamy, the coffee flavor was distinct, and I really enjoyed my first ever coffee order from Idego. If you're looking to try a coffee spot that isn't one of the Java chains, you have to give Idego a try. I love supporting small businesses like Idego and if I'm in the area, I would order another White Chocolate Mocha or try that Mayan flavored coffee, but you'll generate more repeat customers if you focus on welcoming customer service. read more

The vanilla latte here is so good!! It's smooth, velvety, and has a subtle nuttiness to it that I enjoy! The inside is casual and on the smaller side so it's a better place for grab and go coffee than a study spot. Not the warmest/friendliest service but gave us good recs and coffee came out quickly! read more

Service is excellent and their espresso drinks are smooth. We tried the Americano, almond milk latte, flat white and cappuccino and all drinks were perfect. In terms of dairy free options, they have Oatly and Califia Almond milk. There are four tables with seating for about 3-4 each but it's a cute coffee shop with quality drinks read more

A must-visit local gem! Idego Coffee in Poway is hands down the best little local, owner-operated coffee spot in town. The owner roasts his own beans right in the shop -- you can even watch the roasting process through the window, which makes it such a unique experience. The coffee is incredible -- consistent, fresh, rich, and full of flavor. The atmosphere is nondescript but friendly and relaxed -- perfect for sitting down to work, chat with a friend. I was kind of disappointed here. I love supporting local coffee places everywhere I go. I just wanted a vanilla latte. Simple and sweet. I spoke to the barista, and he was very kind. I even added a tip, and the total was like $7. I was expecting a generous size coffee for that price. What i got was sad. It was a small coffee. I was done with it after a few sips. It might as well have been expresso shots. I will not be back. I don't mind spending money on coffee, but the value seems to be lacking here. It didn't even have anything special added to it except a little design on top. read more

Great coffee at an even greater price. This coffee shop is tucked away within a semi-busy shopping center in Poway. The interior is relatively spacious and never too busy when I go to find an open seat. Nothing too over the top with so many frills and decorations like some coffee shops, and I think that fits the vibe for this place. Coffee being the main highlight, they offer a simple menu with well-priced coffee options from cold-brews to pour overs to lattes. I usually go for the Mayan Mocha as of recently, mainly for it's spicy-esque chocolate flavor. Service has always been attentive and straight-forward, and they can really help you steer in the right way if you're stuck on choosing options. I also love the added touch of detail with coffee art in the hot drinks which really helps go hand in hand with the great taste. Consideration how close this location is to me, it's one of my regular coffee run spots in the area, and I will continue coming by! read more

I swung by Idego Coffee Roasters this morning for the first time. I am more of a seasonal drinks kind of person so I opted for their pumpkin spice latte, iced. My drink was 6.20 and I don't remember if there were other sizes. I absolutely loved my drink. Most of my experiences with pumpkin spice have been that they were too sweet and not much spice. Overall, it is a cute coffee shop tucked away in Poway with lots of parking. The staff here was friendly, and I look forward to visiting them again! read more

The menu is pretty simple but if the coffee's good, who cares? Friendly service and a nice, clean little shop. Idego offers up the coffee shop basics but they do it well. Yours truly had a draft latte with almond milk and house made white chocolate syrup. Twas delicious and the syrup tastes like actual white chocolate and not just some amorphous sugar bomb. Idego is my faaaaaaavorite place to get my coffee, and I've been obsessed with it for quite some time now. My order has always been CONSISTENT, and super flawless!! I have been to every coffee roaster between downtown and Carlsbad and this one is my favorite. Particularly because they make the best lattes. Perfect milk, perfect house made syrups and a great balance of expresso. This is a simple shop with a few tables, not much of a lounging place but the coffee is worth it. We come out of our way every weekend to get the iced mayan mocha with oat milk. We love that the standard is 4 espresso shots in the drinks the best drink ever! The menu needs updating because with all the crossed out items on the board, it looks a little low end and like they're out of things. But they also always seem to be out of multiple items when I come these days. There's no food options any more most of the time, but the display cases remain. And seating... it feels like they got rid of 1-2 tables and the tables that were outside. There never seems to be enough seating so it's both cramped while also empty looking now. They have these side benches to sit on, but no one ever uses them because they're not super comfortable or good to chat with anyone with. Also, the bathroom. It's usually open, but twice now Ive been in there where there's zero toilet paper or the paper towel dispenser is out, but someone has just put a roll on top to tear at your own will. I loved this place so I hate saying more negative than good. The drinks remain amazing, but for a spot that is so popular, it's losing some of its own charm.

Compa Coffee Roasters is located in Rancho Bernardo specifically off the 15 freeway and the Rancho Bernardo Road exit. If you're driving north, make a right after you exit and head east. If you're driving south, make a left after you exit and head east. The coffee joint can be found in The Mercado outdoor shopping center with its anchor store being Barons Market. Besides Barons, Kangnam KBBQ, Pho Cao Dao, Xuan Tailoring & Alterations, Pizza Hut, Fed Ex, and one of our fave boba drink places, Presotea all reside here. There is plenty of parking, but when we visited, it was busy, so you might have to park far. CCR was jam packed when we entered, so obviously I'm a little late to the party of knowing what an awesome coffee spot this is. It's got a really cool vibe with wooden sun art on their walls, flora throughout the space, and the focal point being the diligent baristas doing their thing. There are wooden tables, bench seating, bar top with no bar seating, and plenty of outdoor seating. From the gentleman at the register and the baristas, the staff were friendly and had a positive disposition. Their merchandise was really cool especially their logo tshirts that looked like an old school San Diego Padres logo. I remember when Compa Coffee Roasters had just opened in Rancho Bernardo and I had been meaning to visit, but never got around to checking it out. Blessed that it was my coffee aficionado baby girl who enticed me to go and she was spot on CCR being a good coffee spot. CCR opens at 7am and closes at 6pm. Besides coffee, the java joint serves sandwiches, afternoon eats, variety of food, bagels, toasts, beer, and wine. When I talked to friendly gentleman behind the register, I asked what he recommended for someone who enjoys sweet coffee. He provided several recommendations including their Salted Maple Latte, which is what my daughter had planned to order. I kindly asked for an iced Salted Maple Latte, requesting it to be sweeter, and looked forward to trying my first CCR coffee drink. It was delicious from the first sip to the last, so much so that I savored that drink for quite awhile, which is abnormal for me. That's how tasty it was. It was the perfect sweetness for me, my taste buds could distinguish the coffee, and it was really flavorful. If you're into sweet coffee drinks, I highly recommend CCR's iced Salted Maple Latte extra sweet. You're welcome!!! I'm thankful to God for being able to spend quality time with my baby girl treating her to some cup of Joes from Compa Coffee Roasters. I'm also blessed that our new go to coffee spot is just around the corner from our home.

I am thankful that food is served on a real plate, metal cutlery is available and coffee poured in a ceramic mug. No strong opinions on service other than pick it up at the counter. There was a problem with the bill, unfortunately I didn't notice it until I had paid. I immediately attempted to get a refund but it wouldn't go through. I was informed it would take a few days to process. After a few days, it didn't process, I went back to find out what was wrong, I was told it may take up to two weeks to explore the situation. Two weeks and I didn't hear anything I went back was informed it would probably take another two weeks to explore the circumstances, long story short, two weeks have turned into almost 4 months and I still haven't received my money. I don't know their financial issues, but if they're desperate to build their capital they should probably set up a GoFundMe page instead of trying to drain an old man's bank account.

There were only two staff members, and one of them was busy fixing the machine instead of serving customers. In the end, the drinks were handed to me unfinished -- just two open cups. As a delivery driver, I had to seal the lids and package the drinks myself because the staff refused to do it. If you're not able to support delivery orders, please turn it off and stop accepting them. This level of service is unacceptable and unprofessional.
