When we first walked in, though, there was a strong smoky smell, almost like someone had been smoking in the enclosed patio area. It was also extremely quiet. The focus this evening seemed to be more on training a new employee than on the customers. Everyone needs training when they start a job, so we waited patiently. We eventually placed our order: a Hawaiian chicken and fries. The order was repeated back to us, and I even heard it repeated twice in the kitchen. While we waited, a man was pacing behind the bar, eating chili out of a plastic container in front of the two other customers, talking about how "she makes the best chili in the world." It was an odd experience. When our food arrived, it was a Hawaiian burger drenched in teriyaki sauce. I ate about half the burger and most of the fries before being asked how everything was. I mentioned that it wasn't chicken. She apologized and offered to remake it as a chicken dish, but after a long day of travel with multiple flights, I was already hungry and had started eating. The beer is cold and the bartenders will make you just about any cocktail you can dream up. It's a nice place to relax and plan your day and if your not out to late a good place to end it.
