After reading many great reviews on local FB S/M posts we decided to finally give "The Barracuda Deli" on Seminole Blvd a try as we are hüge fans of a great pressed Cuban sandwich. Formerly the "Pickle Barrel" about a decade ago, this family owned & operated restaurant has been making their customers smile for at least 8 years now at this location originated in St Pete Beach prior. It's a clean and quaint old fashioned sort of corner diner that makes one feel like they are visiting their parents/grandparents for a great family dish that just satisfies the appetite and then some. Advertising as a fusion of Caribbean-Cuban fare the menu is simple and straightforward but their rock star is the Pressed Cuban Sandwich w/Red Beans & Rice. There are ample sandwiche options and everything we've tried was 4.8 stars or better... Desserts are homemade in house and change weekly but the Piña-Colada Cake was my personal favorite with Tequila-Lime being second. Black Beans & Rice are as good as they get but personally feel the Red Beans & Rice are a little tastier and my fav! Only open till about 5pm, this is definitely a great corner deli style restaurant worth checking out! The service is extremely welcoming like you are visiting family - eager, smiling and wanting to please. There are also dinner meal options that have commanded our attention like Enchiladas with Mojo Pork that were very delicious. There are many places to east but The Barracuda Deli is of exceptional value!!! We highly recommend a visit and soon!

Every time we come to the area we have to stop here at least once or twice for the delicious Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice. We love this place

The cafe is owned by a husband and wife who are some of the most people I've met. The restaurant is clean and bright. Service is quick and friendly. The food is super yummy and fresh! The husband makes an awesome tres leche cake, pina colada, and flan. And of course you have to get the cafe con leche. Check it out you won't be disappointed!

If you are looking for a place that has solid food and no frills, this would be the spot. It's kind of plain inside, but the food and service are good. We stopped in for lunch the other day, I ordered the greek salad with grilled chicken, and my friend had the burrito bowl. Both items were fresh and had a good flavor, a solid meal, nothing fancy. The feta was mild the way I like it, and the potato salad didn't have a ton of mayonnaise. Perfect for what i was craving. Great lunch spot

This was an amazing experience, a true hidden gem. From the very first bite, we knew we would love this place. The Cuban was the best I've ever had. Maduros (sweet plantains) were perfect as well. The pulled chicken soft tacos were great & the fresh homemade salsa was amazing. We willl definitely be back soon! We want to try one of the many desserts; tiramisu, flan, cheesecake and the one I'm looking forward to is the guava cheesecake.

We found this little gem several years ago when they were on St Pete Beach... when we came down for vacation this year we were sad to see it closed in St Pete but relieved after we googled it to see they had moved about 25 mins away to Seminole, FL. This place is soo Good The sandwiches are fresh and flavorful and best rice and beans! Very reasonable pricing and staff is so friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I went to a previous location before covid, tried going and tracked down this location because it is the best Cuban sandwich. Everyone is very friendly and service was excellent. And for $12 you have sandwich to take home for another meal. The combination of flavors just make it a superior sandwich to many chain restaurants around St Pete. The fries were crispy and with the hot sauce were delicious. This is my favorite restaurant when I come to town.

    Chicken Enchiladas yum!

My my my. The solid 5 stars brought us in but the food and family will be bringing us back. There isn't much to add here that everyone else hasn't already said. We had chicken enchiladas and mojo pork and it was just perfection. I've never had such juicy tender chicken inside an enchilada before. Super fresh crisp veggies in the pico, the salad, inside the enchilada. Who does that? And the rice. Make that The Rice. I had black beans, hubby had red. Both were delicious but THE RICE was so flavorful it was literally the best either of us have ever had. The homemade flan was amazing - mama told us the secret is lemon zest. The family running the place is sweet and friendly you just couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. One small tip - there are some older reviews and pix showing breakfast but alas that is no more. Barracuda is open for lunch and dinner. They announce their Friday night specials on Facebook.

This is the tasty side salad that accompanies the mojo pork dish entree.

I challenge you to find a better Cuban restaurant in the Tampa Bay area than Barracuda Deli Cafe on Seminole Blvd! All the food is absolutely mouthwateringly delicious! It is nearly impossible to stop yourself from overeating because you really want to finish everything on your plate! The service is delivered by an authentic and adorable abuela adorned with a simple hairnet, smiling eyes, and a gentle grin! The mojo pork is so tender, moist, and flavorful and accompanied perfectly with lightly grilled onions. The yellow rice is nicely seasoned and so comforting when topped with your choice of red or black beans! The toasted cuban bread offers a pleasant textural crunch! And the side salad with its homemade vinaigrette brings a bit of freshness and acidity to the meal! Please, try this place! You will not regret it! Also, they have perfectly sweetened sweet iced tea! Five stars all around!

You can watch boats cruise by while you eat. The best spots are on the open outdoor deck or at a table next to the large windows. Inside, the dining room is decorated in a Mediterranean style. The famous historic 1905 salad originally created in 1905 was made table side by Tossing 4 cups of chopped iceberg lettuce, 1/2 cup julienned ham, 1/2 cup julienned Swiss cheese, 1 ripe chopped tomato, and 1/2 cup green Spanish olives. Suggest valet for $6 or a couple of trips around the lot to find a spot. We sat outside, which was enclosed and heated and your are right on the water. Super cool and great views. We started off with the toasted bread and butter and the devil crab croquet. Not a fan - full of crab but the flavors didn't sit well and really needed some type of sauce to pair with it - we only had hot sauce. The original salad - is a must we shared it across four. It's made table side has cheese and olives in it and was really good. We got ours with a side of shrimp. Main courses - Cuban - it's a classic sandwhich which we shared. Comes with fried plantains which were ok. Again would have been better with some kind of sauce to dip it in. Steak Salteado - good flavor l, was expecting thin sliced steak and it was more like stew meat. Paired with rice and was good. Palomilla - would be better as the sandwhich version. Again this one needed a sauce for dipping. Shrimp "Al Ajillo" - this is a must and the oil garlic mix is perfect for dipping you toasted bread.
