The food is good here. I have not been here in a few years. Went back today and my Cuban, beans and rice was just as I remembered it....delicious! Took a star away because this place needs a good cleaning. The neglect of not cleaning makes me not want to go back. :(

Tasty Cuban sandwiches at reasonable prices: My husband and I haven't gone to this sandwich shop since before the lockdown. Been enjoying their sandwiches for over 20 years, so glad they're still here! The inside has tropical plants painted on the walls so has a fun decor. Today we dined in and shared a 12" sandwich combo (comes with lg black beans & rice and buttered Cuban toast). Their Cuban has always been our favorite sandwich on the menu, but today we tried the Jerk pork sandwich. It was was delicious! The lunch special is also a fantastic deal (6" sandwich, small black beans & rice with Cuban toast). Some of my favorite dinners are when my husband picks up sandwiches on his way home from work & we press them later! Note: Caribbean Cafe is NOT open for dinner & are cash only (NO credit cards)

Today we tried CC for lunch. The reviews on the Cuban sandwich sounded amazing. I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It comes in a few sizes, but for me the 9" was plenty big. The bread was classic Cuban bread which is soft, flaky, & tasty. The sandwich was pressed which is to be expected. The quality of the meats inside was excellent, meaning there was nothing questionable in it, lol. The only issue is that while the sandwich tasted fine, there was nothing exceptional about it. I feel like I'm missing something, because this was no different than a bizillion other Cuban sandwiches I've had elsewhere. The girl who took my order was pleasant & overall everything was good. But again there was nothing that stood out.

I have been to/ordered from this restaurant countless times. I have never been disappointed. All of the sandwiches are amazing. The Cuban is wonderful. My favorite is the Cheese Sandwich: Provolone & Swiss American, pickles, lettuce, tomato, & mayo on a most wonderful Cuban bread. I usually get a combo meal; a sandwich with a good portion of black beans and yellow rice. I love this place!

I used to like this place, but the last sandwich I got (the turkey Cuban) was so gross. Slimy, gross, terrible flavor.

I do remember we tried the Bad Bunny and the Paloma, but I ended up switching to regular margaritas which were well done. We had to book several days ahead of time, and after our experience, it makes perfect sense--Sōl St Pete Bistro is truly something special. The service was beyond phenomenal. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly kind, down to earth, knowledgeable, and attentive. She made us feel genuinely welcomed and made sure we were very well taken care of throughout the evening. The ambiance was exactly what you'd want for a romantic dinner--quiet, dimly lit, elegant, and intimate, with comfortable seating and a charming atmosphere. The food was more memorable than I can properly describe. Every ingredient is thoughtfully sourced, with an obvious commitment to organic, grass-fed, clean ingredients, even down to the butter, while avoiding things like seed oils or unnecessary additives. Their commitment to using goat and sheep cheeses instead of conventional dairy brought such a refined, elevated quality to several dishes. I was surprised by how much I loved the salad, since I'm not normally a huge salad person. The gluten-free sourdough garlic bread was celiac-safe and such a fun, unique thing to try--you just don't see that everywhere. The French onion soup was delectable, and the use of sheep cheddar gave it such a unique, rich flavor. For the main course, I ordered the turkey bolognese lasagna with sheep & goat ricotta, and it was mouth-wateringly good. I truly savored every bite. My husband ordered the filet mignon gnocchi, and we planned to split both dishes. I'll admit, I was a little nervous giving up half of my lasagna because I wasn't sure I'd like the gnocchi as much--but I was very wrong. Both dishes were absolutely perfect. The filet mignon was juicy, the sauce was deeply flavorful, and the gnocchi had the perfect texture. We finished with the ganache torte and chocolate chip cookies, and I can't even describe how amazing those cookies were. I genuinely could not speak while eating my half. It's incredible how something as simple as a chocolate chip cookie could taste like it was baked with that much love. Easily one of the top three cookies I've ever had--and I've had many, lol. This dining experience completely exceeded our expectations. I'm already dreaming about going back to try new dishes while also ordering some of the ones I already fell in love with. I honestly still can't decide what was better--the food or the service. I'm so grateful we discovered this incredible restaurant, because it is officially my new favorite. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation YESTERDAY.

Great experience with a twist!…read more Food 8.0 Vibe 8.9 Service 8.7 Overall 8.4 This place definitely has his own theme and vibe and it sticks to it. A straightforward menu gives a decent variety and the chef delivered on the flavor. We had the egg Benedict the Gudda grits, and the (not so) French toast. Overall, the food was delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the "French toast" for some reason, the chef opted for not doing an egg/milk bath for their French toast, which to me is a grave mistake, who wants to dry French toast? This liberty could be excused, and tolerable for the sake of creativity and innovation, IF it was openly, shared on the menu, or by the server. However, this came to a COMPLETE surprise to me AFTER ordering and receiving it. I've never had DRY French toast, nor do I ever wish to again despite the tasty toppings and well executed cinnamon butter cream, it was still not an enjoyable experience, especially if you're expecting classic French toast. That said the eggs Benedict was phenomenal. The pork is perfectly cooked. The biscuits are light and fluffy. And the sauce was immaculate. The Gudda grits surprise me while not being creamy in the same way of grit, I've had in the past, these retained their grit structure, but it kind of melted in your mouth, providing that creamy texture and they add chopped bacon and a sweet I would guess type of reduction in just the right amount to balance the flavor of the Gudda. I do wish they had sausage and hash browns. But it's not that kind of place. My last complaint would be in the potatoes that come with the Benedict. Whatever other option, they have picked those get anything, but those ours came undercooked, and they refried them for us, and they still were just below average which for a place like this. I expected more. Overall, not a bad place. The coffee was phenomenal. I had a dirty Matcha, and it was perfectly executed. Prices aren't terrible for what you'd expect from downtown St Pete at a fancy place, so I was happy. Service was good and friendly. After I expressed my dissatisfaction with the French toast, the manager came over and offered his apologies and remove the item from my bill, even offered to bring us something else, and to have a beverage to go to make up for it. However, I was at the end of our mail and I was ready to get going with the rest of my day, so I said thank you and we departed. Overall, I will not come back for French toast but that eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back and try something else as well. Give it a shot. Just DONT get the French toast. If you like normal French toast.

We love the food and beer at The Burg Bar & Grill west of downtown St. Pete FL!…read more We have previously enjoyed their well-made Chicago Dogs and craft beer. This time (Apr 2026) we started with a creamily delicious ice-cold nitro beer. It was Milk Bone stout, locally crafted, toffee-flavored and lightly sweet from lactose. Pinellas Ale Works says it's almost a cafe con leche :-). It looks like they serve a larger pour of nitro-Guinness, if you like. Y'know, small nitro bubbles (around 25% to 30% CO2) create a smooth mouth-feel and, to me, seem much easier to imbibe than most beers' carbonation (100% CO2). Many places don't put in the extra equipment to serve nitro beers, so Thank You to The Burg! Their eat-in special is different every weekday. On this Wednesday (Apr 2026), it was $2 off their Cuban. Thin tender flavorful ham, pork, and salami, lightly bite-y Swiss cheese, and bright tart pickles, with plain yellow mustard & mayo. All pressed into hot bread. Perfectly savory and delicious! Except ... It wasnt Cuban bread, or any crusty bread, it was a hoagie roll :-( The bread wasnt even toasted! Hey! Mostly-excellent Burg, This is Tampa Bay, home of Cuban sandwiches! Do it right! Dunno if it was just an off-day bread-wise? My nearly-perfect Burg, please tweak this one thing. Yet they still earned that 5th star with their freshly hand-made very good lightly-seasoned crispy crispy Burg chips. We live for crunch! And you can upgrade the side to black-beans and rice, so, yeah, on target :-) And they let us go slightly off-menu with a BLT, which on the menu is part of a soup and sandwich combo. Lots of hot thin crispy bacon, sweet fresh tomatoes and lettuce, on lightly toasted bread. Very satisfying. The Burg Bar & Grill is pleasantly relaxed with a nicer-than-divey feel. The staff is friendly, attentive, and quick with that cold cold beer! The food is only a Cuban-roll away from Perfect :-)
