You order at the counter inside the restaurant. The gentleman working is very friendly & helpful with an upbeat attitude making every experience very pleasant. The colada de cafe is amazing! Best Cuban in Tampa Bay!!!! Hands down. I grew up south of Gandy, eating Cubans at Robertos and the Green Store... and many other wonderful mom and pop Cuban cafeteria style restaurants that are now gone. I now live in Pinellas and every so called Cuban sandwich shop insists on killing Cubans by over pressing them until it is a heavy greasy soggy mess. This is just WRONG! Cubans should be lightly buttered and pressed. M&G fortunately does not over press. They know exactly what they are doing. Perfectly pressed so the meat is still cold, the cheese is just warmed and the bread is flakie... leaving your table a mess of crumbs. It's a shame other places mislead transplants into thinking a Cuban is just roast pork, ham, Swiss and pickles, over pressed on French bread. They have no clue what they are missing. Oh... and they use salami. If you know anything about Cuban Sandwiches, they were invented in Tampa, by Cubans. Not Miami, not Cuba. If it doesn't have salami, it's NOT a Cuban. I'm always on the hunt for the next greatest thing. Add to the fact that I am about as close to being a native Tampan as possible, so understand that I have had my fair share of Cuban sandwiches. You see, a lot of restaurants will claim that they have "authentic" Cubans. Located in Largo and tucked away at the end of a nondescript shopping center, you will find M&G Cuban Cafe. Immediately, I skeptical when I saw "Enjoy The Cuban Flavor" boldly proclaimed across the front of M&G Cuban Cafe's menu. Fortunately, my visit did not disappoint. After a short wait, my 12" Cuban was served on some of the freshest, crispiest Cuban bread that the area has to offer. In fact, the bread was cut at an angle so sharp that it was almost like a dagger! Jilted lovers, lookout, it could actually be used as a weapon! As for the meats...there was a little less than I would have liked to have seen on a foot long . Even with the mustard and Mayo slathered on, the sandwich was a bit dry. Maybe I missed it, but there should be a special that includes chips and a drink. Overall, I did enjoy the experience. The restaurant was clean, and the gentleman behind the counter (presumably the owner) was very nice and friendly. I'm not in the area often, but next time I am, I will be sure to stop by. read more

I drive by M&G literally every day but never noticed it because it's in a run down strip mall off of Ulmerton rd in Largo. I had high hopes and was excited for this sandwich and was sadly disappointed. My review is only of the Cuban sandwich since it's the only item I ordered. The rest of their food could be really good? The Cubano was very dry and lacked flavor. The price was rIght but the taste was not so I won't be back sadly. The owner seemed genuine and welcomIng. I went to this location twice for coffee and pastries before a conference. I really wanted Cuban breakfasr. When I arrived, I was the only customer when I arrived. There was a man that greeted me on both occasions. His face twisted, I wished him good morning and gave him my order. He was gruff and dismissive in his response. I can't tell you how much I still went out of my way to be pleasant. He was nasty. My husband was dropping me off while he stayed at the hotel, so he was with me and noticed the treatment. He was upset and wanted to return afterwards to talk to the man, but I told him to just leave it alone. There was no reason for my treatment. Against my better judgment, I decided to return the next morning, thinking it was a fluke. Boy, was I wrong. I went with my colleague. I was the only one ordering. For context, I'm a Black woman and she's Hispanic. She walked in steps behind me. She couldn't believe how he spoke to me. What's worse, three Hispanic men came in and he proceeded to take their order. My colleague was beyond shocked and upset. At that point, I got the message. I wished him a blessed day as I left. Yelped local restaurants by my job and found this gem. Checked the menu and got a cuban sammy with a cafe con Leche. The coffee was perfect and the cuban was tasty and traditional. Good roast pork and it really was delicious. Tap to pay and I asked about a tip. He said next time, because he obviously knew I was a new customer. Now that is customer service! So far this might be the best Cubano I've had in Clearwater or Tampa. The bread was especially good. Perfect combo of crunchy and chewy. All of the flavors were in balance with the ham, pork, and mustard. Only interesting note was that there was a small piece of salami on my sandwich. That is not mentioned in the menu and my understanding was the owner is from Miami so did his sandwiches in that style. (I prefer Miami style personally). That aside the sandwich was excellent! I ordered take away from here about a month or so ago. Cuban sandwich (huge!) black beans and rice and empanadas. It was pretty tasty. I'll definitely order again. The empanadas and beans and rice were sooo delicious. I don't like salami, so I was happy this place doesn't put it on their Cubans. The meal lasted me 2 days. Only negative thing I'd say is the Cuban could have been pressed/toasted a little more, but the actual flavor of the sandwich was great.
