It's not often I rate any place 5 stars but if there is a place that deserves it, it's the Barracuda cafe. Their "mojo" pork plate is huge, the meat tastes just like the meat at a hog roast, and the beans and rice are fantastic also. I got the enchiladas this time, so good, covered with cheese, best salsa you've ever ate, and unless you have a huge appreciate, plenty to bring home. We finally tried Barracuda via delivery over the weekend, and I'm glad we did! We both got sandwiches which were clearly freshly made, and the bread was to die for. My husband got a Cuban and said it's one of the best he's had in the area. I had the chicken and pepper jack-- it was good, but not as delicious as the Cuban. Sandwiches were huge- we definitely could have split one. I liked the potato salad that came with mine. They have several other Cuban and Mexican options that sound great. Fresh fresh food prepared with love. The rice and red beans are amazing - i always take an extra portion home to eat later. While the meat is well prepared and seasoned appropriately, it's their large selection of vegetarian options that make me return - rice, beans, madras, corn salad. . . The only nudge is the tortilla bowls/serving portions - they are inedibly tough and soggy. They simply aren't needed and distract from the other great flavors. Just had a corned beef Reuben and pasta salad from here, both are delicious. The pasta salad had an unexpected kick to it which was a nice surprise. My only complaint is that I got my order to go and the styrofoam container is not the right type for a pressed sandwich. My good friend Glenn recommended " Barracuda Deli"- What he didn't know at the time is " I had been searching high and low for a good authentic cuban espresso". Glen recommended the "pulled Chicken & Black beans & Rice Salad & Cuban bread, so that's exactly what I ordered. To drink I asked for plain water. When the salad came I was awed at the size and wondered "how was I going to eat the "main meal?" The "mam" laughed at the look on my face when she brought the main meal" It was a huge portion! Party of 6 about 45 mins prior to close and they never made us feel unwelcome. All the food was so fresh and flavorful. Tender, juicy meats. Soft bread. Brewed tea. Chips made to order. Flan was perfect and not too sweet. The cheesecake wasn't overly heavy. Huge portions of everything. Really, the best Cuban sandwich I've ever had. It's easy to drive past and never notice this place, but it would be a mistake. They make a very excellent Cuban sandwich here, maybe even the best in Pinellas County. Their Cubans are a bit larger than most and thankfully they use shredded pork, not the sliced stuff. It came with one side. I chose the black beans and rice, which were slightly salty but still very tasty. Just don't go expecting their awesome Cuban for dinner as they close at 3:00pm! read more

This is a family owned business. They offer a personalized down home service. The food is top notch and bursting with flavors. Due to a recent family tragedy they are only open 11-5 until further notice. Every flavor component you could need is present, the sweetness from the coleslaw, the tang of the cheese, the creamy mayo and kick of mustard, the perfect amount of turkey meat without being piled too high, and the salty crispy bacon. Oh and of course the dreamy cuban bread. I mean this is a masterpiece, a favorite all time sandwich that I will be pining for a long time to come. Plus the large is so very large, I got to repeat the event for lunch the following day and it was just as good. Potato salad is also KILLER! They must put mustard in it, I love. +My husband got the traditional cuban sandwich and loved it just the same as I did, saying that it is truly one of the best out there. I commented earlier about la teresita in Tampa and I voted LaSegunda bakery the best Cuban sandwich but this is right up there if not the best I've had. Stopped in for first time. It was quiet. The people there are very friendly. Prices are fair. I tried the Chicken Empanadas. It was 2 for $5.00. Had can of soda $1.50 and order of Maduros sweet plantains. The food was tasty the fluffy crust on empanadas was good light fluffy the chicken was soft seemed cooked with a broth taste, not spicy at all. They were huge too. It was different but good. The maduros were cooked really well sweet and a lot in serving. They were constantly checking we were good. Flavors seemed simple and clean. This wasn't what I was expecting but we were happy with the food. Downside is that this place is in a plaza that doesn't get your attention. You have to be looking for it to find. I've driven by this place several times never knew it was there. We were told they had another place along the shore that's more known I guess. Worth a try. read more

When you first walk in, you notice how clean it is and moderately decorated. The gentleman is very nice when you first walk in. The menu is not overcrowded but has a nice selection. They aren't kidding when they say they have the best Cubans. The bread is light and crispy and the sandwich is huge. Hubby had the tres tacos with black beans and rice and it was sooo good.
