    Chicken and Potato Soup
    Larry S.

Visiting our daughter's church downtown, decided, the three of us, to check out some place nearby. We liked the reviews, so my daughter chose La Pollera, thinking it was Mexican. It was Colombian, so trying some new things. Place was packed, we were lucky. There was one open table, so seated right away. We were brought waters and menus and ordered the Beef Empanadas as an appetitizer. My wife selected the Ajiaco, Chicken and Potato soup. My daughter decided on the Sandwich de Carne, Steak sandwich. After looking for something different, I chose the Frijoles con Garra, Beans with pork skin, Fried Pork Belly, Rice, Fried Plantains and Avacado. Apparently every meal comes with a small salad, which was nice. As we were eating our salads, our Empanadas came. Wow! These were the best Empanadas we had ever eaten. Crispy, hot, well filled, and delicious. Our meals came and they were whoppers. Especially after 3.6 Empanadas with my daughter - my wife only had 1/2. My wife's soup was huge, most of it went home. As did 1/2 of my daughter's sandwich. Couldn't believe it was only $7.45, a great deal and very tasty. My beans and beans were great and I enjoyed the Pork Belly. Again, half went home for another meal. To wrap it up we were brought a small piece of Caramel Flan to try. Food was good, service was great, good ambiance but a bit loud at time. My only disappointment was their hot sauce was not even warm. But altogether a nice meal as introduction to Columbian food. Next time I'll try something else again!

I have been a fan of this restaurant since their original location off Linebaugh in Tampa nearly 20 years ago and they never fail to deliver! The service is always so friendly and helpful, the menu is huge and if you love Colombian food, you will not be disappointed here. They have incredible lunch specials that include a salad and flan for under $10. Wednesday is Chicken Cordon blue day and it's so good. Comes with a cream mushroom gravy and beans and rice. As for the atmosphere is casual and pretty basic but clean and you're there for the great food and deals. Luckily my new work location is just a few minutes away so I'll be back again and again

We shared some delicious appetizers and an awesome dinner plate.

This was my first time at this wonderful restaurant. My Colombian friends invited me. Whenever I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by. The food was delicious, and the price inexpensive, with friendly staff and a nice ambience. They offer some wonderful Colombian products as well. We even had authentic Colombian beer. A wonderful experience. Color me content.

Parrillada para (2) Entraña (Mixed grilled meats for 2): Skirt steak, NY strip, Spanish sausage, blood sausage, and chicken breast

My friends were visiting Clearwater Beach, so I searched for a restaurant nearby for dinner. I'm SO grateful that Yelp brought up La Pollera Colorada because the food here was amazing! I love discovering new restaurants, and even moreso, impressing friends with delicious local eats. La Pollera Colorada offers Colombian dishes at very affordable prices. My husband and I shared the Parrillada for 2, which includes skirt steak, NY strip, Spanish sausage, blood sausage, chicken breast, and two side dishes of your choice (we chose rice and beans). I also ordered fried maduros to complete our meal. The meats served are HUGE, and this platter could certainly feed three or even four people. The skirt steak and blood sausage were my favorite entrees, but all of the meats are delicious and cooked to your preference. The maduros were not greasy, but I thought they could be a little sweeter. Our meal came out to $40, including a cafe con leche. You can't beat the quality AND quantity of this meal for the price! The restaurant is somewhat small inside, so if it's the weekend or common meal times, I imagine it may get crowded. Service was on the leisurely side, but everyone was very friendly. I also thought the temperature inside the restaurant was very warm. Overall, my friends and I had an excellent meal at La Pollera Colorada. I would love to visit again when I'm in the Clearwarter area once more.

Great service and even better food! Don't let the humble setting fool you. The paella was one of the best we've ever had and the Sangria was perfect as well.

This is food that's cooked by passionate people. It's a meal that displays as good as it tastes. That's is a locals spot, it tastes great the prices are good. What more do you want? I'll be back as long as I'm in this area!

I can't believe it's been over 9 years since my last review here. We hadn't been in this area in quite sometime. I was scoping out the new Filipino Restaurant a few doors down called Abuhan Sa America. Decided to check this place out again, & it became our lunch spot today. From the start, everyone was very nice. I can tell they did some updates to the place since we were last there which crazy enough had been about ten years ago. I saw one of my old pics on Yelp of my husband too. Aww so cute. Lol. Anywho, we decided on the parrillada for two. This is basically a couple cuts of grilled meat, chicken, sausage, and morcilla which is Colombian blood sausage. We picked two sides which were yellow rice with peas and carrots, sweet plantains and it also came with salad. All of these for us for under $35. I think that's quite impressive. Everything was so good and came out on a sizzling hot plate the size of a pizza pan. Our server was very sweet and helpful. And she also brought us free bites of flan for dessert. I lastly ordered two loafs of cheese bread. I tasted some and wow it is just so darn good. We would definitely come back sooner than later this time. It was such a great experience. Don't be afraid to come here if you don't speak Spanish. They will speak English with no problem!

The wait staff were very friendly, Mark my waiter, has worked here for over 20 year! Speaks volumes about how they run this place! As the oldest restaurant in Florida and the largest Spanish restaurant in the world, we felt it was a must-visit to experience its rich history and unique atmosphere. We also reserved seats for the Flamenco dance show, which had a $10 cover charge per person. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and enormous, with so many different dining rooms. You could probably get lost trying to find your friends inside, just kidding! We were lucky enough to get a table near the stage, so we could enjoy the Flamenco performance while having dinner. For our meal, we started with the Caldo Gallego "Giant Soup" ($10), which was hearty, flavorful, and incredibly comforting. We also ordered Columbia's Original "1905" Salad ($18). Made with crisp iceberg lettuce, julienned baked ham, natural Swiss cheese, tomatoes, olives, grated Romano cheese, Lea & Perrins® Worcestershire sauce, and their famous garlic dressing, it was fresh, light, and absolutely delicious. Our main dish was the Mojito Chicken ($25). The chicken was very flavorful, especially with its delicious citrus-garlic sauce. Although the chicken itself was just a little on the dry side in my opinion, the flavorful sauce made up for it, and the dish was still very enjoyable. We also had the Paella "a la Valenciana" ($40), which was loaded with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, chicken, and pork, along with green peppers, Spanish onions, ripe tomatoes, garlic, and a splash of white wine. It was a generous portion packed with fresh seafood and rich Spanish flavors. The New York Strip Sirloin "The Bambino" ($53) was another excellent choice. The 14 oz. USDA Choice wet-aged boneless strip steak was tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. To finish our meal, we ordered the Flan ($8). It was smooth, creamy, and absolutely delicious, a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner. The Flamenco dance show was fantastic! The dancers were energetic and passionate, making the entire dining experience even more lively and memorable. Combined with the excellent service, it made for a truly enjoyable evening. Overall, Columbia Restaurant is much more than just a place to eat, it's a historic landmark and an unforgettable dining experience. Between the beautiful Spanish architecture, rich history, delicious food, outstanding service, and exciting Flamenco performance, it's definitely worth visiting when you're in Ybor City.

And the portions are HUGE. We had a reservation which was well used as it was pretty packed. We sat inside. It was pretty warm inside, though, from the heat so just be prepared for that. We got a pitcher of sangria and they make it right beside the table. It was SO good. Wow. Each person got about 1/4 a loaf of warm bread. They did say it was cuban bread but it wasn't really. But hey the bread was good. We got their famous salad to try (one side order for 2 people to split and one person got it as their entree) and it was very good. They also make that table side. For our meals, we got the lechón, salad, and fish. The portions were HUGE. So much pork. It came with great tasing yucca, beans, and plantains too. For desert, we got the guava pastry and the natilla. The guava pastry was actually kind of amazing. Warm and so so good. The natilla was good but it was closer to a crème brûlée. It was still good, though. I'm excited to go to another (closer) location of theirs again. It was really such good food. We were also able to take our leftovers with us since they gave us so much food. The lechón plate is definitely splittable.
