When the manager saw us playing euchre, however, she screamed at us from across the bar that euchre was "illegal" and not allowed. She demanded that we stop immediately and made clear that we were not welcome at the establishment. Playing a friendly, non-cash game of cards is not illegal, and the manager said she also would have kicked us out for playing Uno. As a private business, McKay's is free to enforce whatever rules it wants. However, in addition to being forced to leave, the way the manager handled the situation was unnecessarily aggressive and belittling. She could have quietly come to our table and explained the policy, but instead chose to yell at us from across the bar. There are plenty of great businesses in Blo-No worth supporting that do not treat their patrons this way. I will take my future business elsewhere and encourage anyone reading this to do the same.

After a significant amount of time the waitress returned to check on us and let us know the pizzas would be out soon, so we asked her about the appetizer. She admitted that she forgot to put it in. She asked if we still wanted it, which we did, and so she said it would be 8 minutes in the oven. The food all came out within the next 10 minutes or so (minus the appetizer), and we dove in. It was all very good and we were happy with the options we chose. The waitress returned once we were finished eating and we asked for boxes and the check. The appetizer still hadn't came out. She apologized again and asked if we just wanted it boxed up to go, to which we said yes. Several minutes later a manager showed up and told us again, that there was a miscommunication and the appetizer was never made and yet to be placed in the oven. At this point, we asked it to be canceled and just asked for boxes and the check. Things happen, and the way they responded to the mistake is the reason I am still giving them 4 stars. They reduced our bill significantly and offered us a coupon for a free pizza on the next visit as a way to make things right. The waitress was great and the manager was very professional. We will give them another try next time we are in town.

During a recent stay at the DoubleTree Hotel, our team, including families, planned a dinner at the connected restaurant. We encountered significant service issues with a particular bartender. Initially, despite ample seating available, we were initially denied a table due to a lack of reservations, despite another team member securing high-top seating. Subsequently, we were refused service at the high top because we had a toddler and the mom left with the toddler but the girl bartender had a meltdown. So we just left. The bartender displayed unprofessional behavior, making snide comments to her colleague. Later that evening, while other team members were comfortably seated at the bar, we continued to experience a lack of service. Attempts to order drinks were ignored. When our coach intervened by placing an order for us, the bartender appeared resentful and, consequently, provided an incorrect drink. When I brought to her attention the error, and the apparent spoilage of the strawberry puree in the drink, her response was dismissive and unprofessional. She then proceeded to pour the drink away, reuse the same cup, and make the correct drink. Furthermore, she poured the tequila directly from the bottle, without the use of a pour spout. This was observed by other team members, who expressed considerable concern about the standards of service.Thankfully, upon the bartender's departure at 11:00 PM on Saturday, May 3rd, the service noticeably improved. The bartender who replaced her was courteous and provided excellent service. We were also pleased with the quality of the pepperoni pizza we ordered. While the restaurant's ambience was pleasant, our overall experience was significantly hampered by the actions of the initial bartender. read more

THIS IS LITERALLY THE BEST PLACE EVER. My boyfriend and I stumbled across the place as we were in search of sweet potato fries in the area lol. The food is outstanding and cooked incredibly. The staff is also extremely friendly and works as a team. Other waiters that were not assigned to our table picked up our empty plates, and our waiter was fantastic. The ambiance was very calm and enjoyable, and the manager came up to us to ask how our experience was going and how the workers were treating us, and we made sure the manager knew that we had a great experience. We have eaten several times at this restaurant. The interior is beautiful and really updated from the old TGI Fridays. Service was super friendly and the portions of food are HUGE! I think most people can get 2 meals out of one of their servings. The chicken tenders are the best I've ever had, pulled pork (anyway they serve it) is delicious!!
