This little brewery is fantastic. I went here for dinner on a whim with a friend and was so pleasantly surprised. The inside is cute with eclectic decor, and the service was friendly and efficient. What really brought this place up to a 5 star review was the food. I ordered the BLT and it was so good. The sourdough was perfectly toasted with garlic aioli and smashed avocado. I was super impressed by the side salad. It was huge and fresh with goat cheese and pickled onions. I'm still catching up on my Yelp reviews from our first month living in the area, but we visited Barrel Mountain Brewing yesterday & it was so delicious I just had to move it to the head of the review line. Holy smokes, they have the BEST fish & chips we've ever had! And we are from Chicagoland where the Friday night fish fry is an institution, so we have definitely had more than our fair share to compare to. The fish (Steelhead Trout) was fresh, flavorful & tender and the batter was divine & not too greasy. They even give you a choice of 2, 3 or 4-piece to choose from at market price. We each had the 2-pc which was $15 when we visited. It comes with a huge mound of coleslaw & a pile of fries. Since we aren't big eaters we could have easily shared a 2-pc or 3-pc given the amount of sides it came with. Their tartar sauce (on the menu as tar² - clever!) is a pepperoncini tartar sauce, which was quite good, but the fish was so great it was fine without any additional condiments (if you like malt vinegar with your fish & chips, just ask, they've got it). The fries were fresh-cut, skin-on, shoestring style & crispy, delicious as well. Their slaw has sweet-peppers in it, which was a nice addition, but it could have used a bit more vinegar to give it some tang in our opinion. Still very good, but we prefer a tangier slaw. To wash it all down we tried their Starway Stout, Ash Cloud Amber & Be Happy Hefe, all of which was good. The service was great at a variety of different employees checked in on us & brought out our food & beverages. I really liked the decor, too. It has a ski-lodge kind of feel to it with lots of wood and it is decorated with various outdoor adventure gear like skis, skateboards, cycling gear, etc. I especially liked how some of their bar stools are kegs with a cushioned seat on top. Their chef creates the most tasty dishes with local ingredients and loads of TLC. I went here this past weekend for the first time because my hubby loves their beer. I loved the cozy & quirky atmosphere right off the bat. There were lots of trendy hipsters wearing flannel. I felt like I was in a brewery in Portland. I loved the pineapple cider that I had while waiting for a table. I ordered the duck confit and was amazed at the quality & presentation & taste of the dish. Two large duck legs sat on top of a pile of creamy/buttery mashed potatoes with green beans interlaced throughout the dish. It was filling and heavenly and only $18.00 My husband loved his wings: flying pig & sticky sweet heat wings. They weren't greasy and both had a delicious sauce presented with the dish. This is our first time in the evergreen state! While traveling through Washington State, we found Barrel Mountain Brewing. The best part is the outdoor seating and it was coincidentally happy hour on a Monday. We ordered mostly from their appetizer menu. The servers were attentive and pleasant. The food was good and as advertised. It's been a while since I had fish tacos and have not had a steelhead salmon fish tacos. The portion was an entree size and it was listed as an appetizer. Cute little spot... BMB needs to get with the times a bit. It's 2020! They list fresh steelhead, with price based on market. Oddly, the salmon is farmed salmon, not wild. I was appalled when I found this out, after spending $30 for a couple pieces of fish and a beer. I think it's pretty criminal to charge that much. Farmed salmon is a third of the cost of wild. Update your prices to reflect this. I won't be coming back after finding this out. I am scared to ask more questions about where they source their food, and the quality. Very good food! The portion sizes are hugs so unless you haven't eaten for days split your meal with someone. I had the Salmon nachos which where a very good combination of flavors. We also ordered the Daybreak burger which is a mile high. The toasted cheese sandwich is made on garlic bread that is to die for. Super good service! Ohmygoshness! We went there for lunch today. The steelhead fish and chips is not only huge, but incredibly delicious! The beer batter made with their beer is light and delightful and the steelhead is cooked perfectly. The large platter is plenty for two. Even their vinegar is home brewed from their beer. I can't praise it enough! And our server, Becky, was over the top precious and fun! I highly recommend it!! We will be going back, probably between 2 and 4:00 for happy hour. The food was really good. We always enjoy the burgers and the homemade chips. The service was good and the staff was really kind.

I used to look forward to eating here but will likely not come back after our most recent experience last Thursday. We came in for dinner at 7pm and got seated with a beer really quick. Placed our dinner order a few minutes later and by 7:30, our drinks were empty and tables who came in after we had ordered were getting their food. Our server (a tall guy I had never seen before) never came to check on us, our drinks or give us an update on our food so when Hope came to deliver food to the table next to us, we asked her about our food and she said that guys came out faster b/c he only ordered 1 thing as opposed to our 3 meals (yet 1 of our meals was the same thing he got). This guy couldn't have been there more than 15 mins at this point. So by 7:45 they turned the open sign to closed on the door (which SLAMS every time someone goes in our out which is no fun when you're sitting close to it) and our server finally came back to say the ticket must've gotten lost when the cooks switched out so our food will be out in about 5 mins. But I didn't realize they switched cooks right before closing?? He comped 1 beer and a Diet Coke for the inconvenience. 15 mins later we got our salad, lettuce wraps and fish and chips but it was so fried and hard it was difficult to cut through, not to mention tasted pretty bad. The coleslaw had a rancid smell and taste and we never saw our server again, Hope closed us out. All in all it was such poor customer service, the food was horrible, our seats were dirty and there was lemons and beer menus on the floor around our table. read more

What we live by, we diet by ... Since moving to the PNW, I've been living beer-to-beer ... exploring the great micro brews across the hoppy Portland-Vancouver metro. The beers win. Hoppiness wins. Only my diet and waistline had to lose. At Barrel Mountain Brewing there are no bad days thanks to their signature No Bad Days IPA. Unfortunately, there are inconsistent days because service, food, and drafts on my first visit were 5 stars, but the service seriously suffered on the 2nd. Regardless, the independent IPA means you just can't possibly have a bad day. If you aren't an IPAer, go with BMB's ass-kicking Ash Cloud Amber Ale. So, the beer isn't bad, but the real magic behind this 5-star Yelpathon is Barrel Mountain's diet-busting menu. I immediately loved BMB's Daybreak Burger with Bacon, Avocado, Egg, & Muenster Cheese plus a bonus spicy jolt of Fried Jalapeños. The burger comes with Homemade Potato Chips and whole 'nother reason your diet is gonna have a bad day. If you wanna send your tastebuds on an exploration, try Barrel Mountain's beautiful Braised Duck Mac 'n Cheese presented with flowers (or other daily Mac and Cheese special). The creamy cheesiness is pure fatisfaction. Another interesting discovery was some astonishing Asian Peanut Chicken Wings that would have been better with just half the thick sauce. This was our first brewery we hit when we pulled into Battle Ground this past weekend. The place was jammed packed! There was a lengthy wait and while they were seating people as quickly as possible it still seemed a bit disorganized. The people that worked here were very nice and were doing their best but it still came off as disorganized. When we sat down we decided to just split a beer between Steve and myself. We got the brewery's Amber which wasn't too bad but was not terribly memorable either. The place has a great woody atmosphere and would be very enjoyable for a meal when it wasn't so busy. In fact if we hadn't already ate there would have been a good chance we would have gotten a meal here but this stop was for their beer only. read more

Holy cow... The BEST & most amazing hamburger I've EVER HAD. I had the Daybreak Burger: Angus beef with phenomenal bacon, fried onions, Muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato, & a house made ranch. I subbed lettuce for pickle slices. And OMG the pickles on the side!!! Whole small cucumbers that they marinate into spicy pickle deliciousness. The thin fries were perfect - the right amount of salt with the perfect mix of crispy & soft fries to please everyone. Husband LOVED the amber beer on tap: Ash Cloud made by them. Folks ordered the Almond Joy brownie for dessert. I don't know what all was in it, but I tasted the salted caramel ice cream, and despite being uncomfortably full, I could've dove into a vat of the sweet heaven. The decor was interesting & fun and there's a great outdoor space out back. Our waitress was too cute & sassy for words. Stopped by in the late morning after attending the County Fair. This place is right on the main drag in Battle Ground. Smaller than we anticipated inside, cute and quirky decor. Nice patio in back. I was daring and tried the Prairie burger on a gluten free Udi's bun. You get a nice sized patty, sweet peanut sauce, cream cheese, grilled jalapeño and bacon, weird huh. Interesting flavor. You get sweet and creamy from the peanut and cream cheese and some nice heat from the jalapeños. A little too sweet for me but a nice change from the typical burger. Wife had Hawaiian burger with ingredients you would expect. These burgers are messy so they do bring you a fork and knife, you'll need them. Burgers come with hand made kettle chips or upgrade to fries or salad for more $. You get a mess of fries if you upgrade, ours were a little tough though. YOU'LL LOVE IT! This place... Mother of God. It was so good! Beyond good, what's better than good, great?! Well this place is better than that, it's amazing, better than that even! It's Barrel MT Brewing, and they're in a class of their own! Drinks, I was drinking light tonight so I grabbed a Hefe and it was great, add lemon, don't add lemon, so good! Appetizer, Salmon Nachos were great! So much salmon, everything worked well together, I could of had the large serving to myself but then I wouldn't of saved room for.... ...Dinner! I'm no child, but I do enjoy myself some Mac and Cheese from time to time, the Adult Mac and Cheese was perfect, PORK BELLY, SOOOO GOOD! Everything about it, AMAZING! I can't say it enough! The service was great as well, we were served by both Miguel and Ashley and they were both super courteous, upbeat, happy, and knowledgeable about what they were serving.
