Okay, very chill bar vibes here! My husband got their Philly, which was SO GOOD. Compared to Philly Phillies, they are a top contender. I got the wings and while they were good, just a little small! But sauce was good! Last min decided to get their famous fries to go and so glad we did because they were insane. Crispy and seasoned to perfection. Great service too!

You'll love this place if you love home style food in a dive bar vibe. They nail all the classics. It's not fancy and we like it that way. Great Rueben's and phillys. I really enjoyed my taco salad. Be prepared to sit close and get there early for good parking

Shrimp po boy with curly fries

My family heard this was a spot one of the Creighton basketball players recommended to try so we gave it a whirl. We ordered curly fries for the table, a Ruben, maverick burger, shrimp po boy, and a chicken Philly. Everything was absolutely delicious. I got the shrimp po boy that came with lettuce, tomatoes, and Cajun sauce. The crunch from the fried shrimp paired well with the soft bun making sure it wasn't too crunchy. The menu here has so many options I wasn't surprised that there were people waiting on tables.

I stopped in while visiting town after seeing this spot all over TikTok but honestly, it's not what the videos make it out to be. The Philly cheesesteak was disappointing: bland, nothing special, and definitely not worth the hype. The food overall felt pretty average, nothing that stood out. That said, the ambiance was actually nice great lighting, comfortable setup, and plenty of TVs for watching the game. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the social media buzz. Wouldn't recommend the Philly cheesesteak, but if you're just looking for a chill spot to hang out and catch a game, it's okay for that.

Wanted a bite to eat and a place to watch the games on Sunday while traveling through Omaha and this recommendation from a friend, even though it was a bit out of the way, did not disappoint! Parking can be tough if it's busy but I was able to get a spot in the small lot before it became crowded. Even as a visitor, I received friendly service, and you can tell they have a great regular crowd. The vibe was your typical sports pub vibe and the food I would say is above average for pub fare, and decent prices. I had a whiskey sour and patty melt, and I'd say it was one of the better patty melts I've had in a while, I appreciated the 1/3 burger and lots of cheese! If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely return.

Beef Philly 'Dugan Style' and Loaded, Fries and Homemade Ranch

Barrett's is definitely an Omaha staple and one of my favorites. The food is always hot and delicious. Definitely recommend the Beef Philly Dugan Style (in a Bowl, no hoagie) and Loaded (Peppers, Jalapenos, Mushrooms, Onions). If you're a Midwesterner, you judge a place on how good their ranch is. I'd put it up there with Runza ranch - 10/10; homemade ranch is where it's at. The service is always wonderful! Even as we walked in, the gentleman wiping down the window said he grew up in a world where ladies are first and held the door for us; so sweet and loved his enthusiasm. I've always had a special love for Irish pubs/bar and grills because every day is St. Pats and who doesn't want to celebrate. Sláinte!

The atmosphere is just like you moved Alex Box Stadium up north. Our waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off and still greeted us as happy and cheerful as can be! Fantastic job ma'am! Our sandwiches were phenomenal. I don't know how they make the cheese sauce on the Philly but it was killer! Will come back!

Good food, good times at an Omaha classic. I tried The Blarneystone, as I try to order something that at least references Ireland if I am an an Irish bar. I liked the taste, but based on the description of "cubed turkey breast" and red onion, I didn't expect it to have such a soft texture, almost a purée. It made the sandwich quite boring to eat. The red onion was barely noticeable, would have been nice to have some sliced red onion to put on it. Or some pickles! That chip wasn't really satisfying. My daughter had the Reuben. It's definitely good, especially the meat on it. Not nearly enough sauerkraut taste or texture though, and to me that's the important thing. But a lot of people think the corned beef should be the star of the show, and I definitely recommend it for those. Crinkle fries were really good. The ketchup was kinda bland. Seems like a silly thing to complain of, but I just need more acid in a meal and some Heinz would have been better. My husband was very happy with his fish and chips. He checked first to make sure they have malt vinegar, otherwise he won't order it. I guess i didn't realize how obsessed I am with acid. Never admitted to it before, anyway. Definitely a good place to go for a bar/pub meal, though I would like a little more variety for a more "pub" feel. It's pretty sportsy in there with lots of screens and noise and that's not everyone's cup of tea. By everyone I mean me. I was going to make a comment that eating (is that the same as kissing?) the Blarneystone didn't give me the gift of gab. But now looking at my wall of text about acids, I guess maybe it did?

Barrett's definitely lives up to the hype as the best Philly in Omaha! They pack it with ingredients you could easily split it with someone. The teriyaki and schezaun sauce really adds a great flavor along with the cream cheese and peppers! I also got the wings which were super crispy and seasoned perfectly! I am writing this review as I'm finishing my meal that's how good this place is. I will be back to try more of the menu, If you haven't been here get down here asap!

Visited the area and tried the popular fried pork tenderloin sandwich. I thought it was good but at the end of the day it's a fried sandwich. Nothing special but locals think it's the best thing known to man. Service was quick and good prepared quickly.

    Reuben sandwich

After trying a Reuben Sandwich from another place in Omaha, and falling in love with it, I knew I had to try another version from a different restaurant. Unfortunately, the first place was better. Barrett's sauerkraut was a little too strong and less meat. Overall the sandwich and meat to sauerkraut ratio was off. It was still a good sandwich but probably wouldn't return. I also can't honestly remember if the sauerkraut was warm at the other place, it was served warm here and would have preferred it chilled. Overall, service was great, the Reuben was good I'm just not sure I'd return anytime soon.

Had a patty melt that was amazing. The service was spot on with Taylor making sure we had everything we needed. Loved the true pub feel.

I went with the fish and chips and was blown away by this portion size and flavor! Two HUGE cod filets accompanied by a side of fries, but I went with the onion rings as I heard they were delicious. The cod has a thick, crunchy breading around it, making it very very filling. The onion rings were very unique. Not a long onion deep fried, but small onion pieces within the breading. I've never had something like that before, but they were golden brown and amazingly crunchy. Make sure you get extra tartar sauce for this dish because you're going to need it! We were doing a pub crawl and had a drink at each of the Capitol District bars. I think Annie's would rank probably in the middle somewhere of the places we tried. The ambiance is like a "hole in the wall" style pub with concrete floors and booths like you'd find in Dublin. There's an area at the back with leather chairs, dart boards, and a few board games. I'm not sure if it gets pretty busy at times, but we were the only group of people there when we went, and it seemed rather large and empty. The bartender was a little snippety, but I wasn't sure if this was part of the "schtick" or not, because she wasn't mean or rude, just a little short and hurrying us up to order (humming the Jeopardy theme song when someone was looking at the menu to decide). I took it as funny, so not mad about it or anything. I liked the vibe of the place feeling like you're in Ireland almost, but the cost is a bit expensive for the tiny beer sizes you get. Also you would think for trying to be an Irish pub type theme, they'd serve drinks in real pint glasses, but I got a tiny 12oz or so plastic cup of beer for $5. There are some good things about Annie's, but I think I prefer a few other places in The Capitol District, like Let it Fly or Roxxy.

Back story...I'm Vietnamese but I have come to LOVE this Czech dish due to my husband's family making it one a year on Thanksgiving instead of the normal line up. I could probably eat this every day...ehh, maybe once a week. And because it's such a niche dish and not commonly available, I will seek it out if it turns up. Such was the case here. I've never heard of Donohue's prior to this nor am I entirely familiar with all the great places in South Omaha. The building was unassuming and a bit darker lit, but you could tell it was a place where "regulars" hang- as evidenced by the waitress asking us if we needed menus (we did). The plate came within 5 minutes of ordering and it took about the same amount of time for me to devour it. The dumplings were delicious and the pork was some of the most tender, flavorful I have ever had. I think the gravy could have use a tad more salt (and I never add extra salt to anything) and I would've like the sauerkraut to be a bit more tart, but I understand that's a personal preference. The price was fair- I think maybe $11.99?, but I wouldn't have minded paying a little more to get a little more. Excited to come back next month when they have this special again!
