We met up with some family at Barrett's and had lunch there. I thought that the food was okay. My daughter had gotten the mini corn dogs kids meal and they were pretty overdone and then when they brought them back a second time they weren't much better (staff was kind and it was no issue for them). My chicken Philly was good, but it didn't have a ton of flavor. My husband said his beef Philly was amazing so I will definitely try that next time instead. I would like to go back. I will say their ranch was pretty good, which is a big deal to me! Staff was friendly and attentive. The restrooms are fairly small and I'm not sure that a wheelchair would be able to make it in there. I felt that was probably worth noting. read more

Son want try Ruben sandwiches style and this place it's best vote. It's Irish style restaurant. You seat your self. Waitress come ask for drinks and other waitresses come take order. Good come fast. Barrett's is a great vibe, always lively. One of my favorite Phillies in town. Haven't had a bad meal here. Service was a miss on Saturday evening. It was busy but my two buddies, my toddler, and I got a table right away. The server seemed flustered she came around and grabbed us adults waters but didn't acknowledge I had my toddler for a kids water or a high chair. My friend spotted the high chairs from across the room and grabbed us one. Which is completely fine just wish we were pointed in the direction. After the drink order it was a bit slow to bring drinks and take food order but again it was busy and I think she was having a tough night. I got the chicken Philly loaded with jalapeños. My buddies both got beef Phillies loaded. They had beers. I got the kids mini corn dogs for my daughter. Food came out great as usual. Piping hot. The curly fries were a hit for my toddler. Overall solid meal. Their ranch is unique and I always get one and think idk if I actually like this or not but the next time I'm there I order it again. Came here yesterday for lunch with my Boys. Over all it was just ok. Service was great. The hot pastrami taste good but there was barely any pastrami on the sandwich. The crinkle fries were room temp like they had been sitting around. My son's burger was overcooked and dry. He said it was hard to eat. Not sure why peeps rave about the food. My family heard this was a spot one of the Creighton basketball players recommended to try so we gave it a whirl. We ordered curly fries for the table, a Ruben, maverick burger, shrimp po boy, and a chicken Philly. Everything was absolutely delicious. I got the shrimp po boy that came with lettuce, tomatoes, and Cajun sauce. The crunch from the fried shrimp paired well with the soft bun making sure it wasn't too crunchy. Parking can be tough if it's busy but I was able to get a spot in the small lot before it became crowded. Even as a visitor, I received friendly service, and you can tell they have a great regular crowd. The vibe was your typical sports pub vibe and the food I would say is above average for pub fare, and decent prices. Barrett's is definitely an Omaha staple and one of my favorites. The food is always hot and delicious. Definitely recommend the Beef Philly Dugan Style (in a Bowl, no hoagie) and Loaded (Peppers, Jalapenos, Mushrooms, Onions). If you're a Midwesterner, you judge a place on how good their ranch is. I'd put it up there with Runza ranch - 10/10; homemade ranch is where it's at. The service is always wonderful! Even as we walked in, the gentleman wiping down the window said he grew up in a world where ladies are first and held the door for us; so sweet and loved his enthusiasm. Good food, good times at an Omaha classic. I tried The Blarneystone, as I try to order something that at least references Ireland if I am an an Irish bar. I liked the taste, but based on the description of "cubed turkey breast" and red onion, I didn't expect it to have such a soft texture, almost a purée. It made the sandwich quite boring to eat. The red onion was barely noticeable, would have been nice to have some sliced red onion to put on it. Or some pickles! That chip wasn't really satisfying. My daughter had the Reuben. It's definitely good, especially the meat on it. Not nearly enough sauerkraut taste or texture though, and to me that's the important thing. But a lot of people think the corned beef should be the star of the show, and I definitely recommend it for those. Crinkle fries were really good. The ketchup was kinda bland. Seems like a silly thing to complain of, but I just need more acid in a meal and some Heinz would have been better. My husband was very happy with his fish and chips. He checked first to make sure they have malt vinegar, otherwise he won't order it. I guess i didn't realize how obsessed I am with acid. Never admitted to it before, anyway. Definitely a good place to go for a bar/pub meal, though I would like a little more variety for a more "pub" feel. It's pretty sportsy in there with lots of screens and noise and that's not everyone's cup of tea. By everyone I mean me. I was going to make a comment that eating (is that the same as kissing?) the Blarneystone didn't give me the gift of gab. Barrett's sauerkraut was a little too strong and less meat. Overall the sandwich and meat to sauerkraut ratio was off. It was still a good sandwich but probably wouldn't return. I also can't honestly remember if the sauerkraut was warm at the other place, it was served warm here and would have preferred it chilled. If you're looking for a delicious cheese steak, Barrett's Barleycorn Pub & Grill is your place. The cream cheese sauce is fantastic. The bread is super soft and absorbs all of the sandwich juices without getting soggy. I do wish that the outside of the sub roll was a little toasted, but it is still a damn good sandwich. You can get it loaded, which comes with peppers and jalapeños. It doesn't add any extra heat but does give the sandwich a different favor profile. The sandwiches come with fries or chips. These are your standard bar fries. Nothing special. I do like how the droppings of the sandwich fall on the fries. Yum! Very good! I will be back for this sandwich. read more
