Another great experience at Winchesters met a buddy from out of town there to have dinner and catch up. Weeknight and they had volleyball going on. Staff was very friendly and checked up on us often. Had a few brews and they were cold. We both had burgers, he had the double and I had one with jalepenos on it. I had the sweet potato fries which were perfectly crispy. Good side of ranch as well. Winchester tonight with friends. Service at first a slow but they were friendly. Food isn't great but it's not bad either. Just kinda floats in the middle. Friends had the Sunday turkey dinner. I had a Caesar salad and the Tommy wings. ( butter, garlic and a bit of parmesan cheese. The salad was small amount of romaine lettuce for $10.99. You get 8 wings for 13.99 so a bit pricey for what you get. The chicken fried chicken was small and had way too much gravy on it. Good place for apps and beers for the most part. read more

Winchester's is a pretty solid choice for burgers, fries, drinks, and a fun atmosphere to watch a game or hang with friends. The vibe has always been super busy when we've been there, and the servers are always busting their butts to take care of everyone in a timely manner. We've had the burgers, the Crab Rangoon fries, and the nachos many times - great bar food. They also have a chocolate cake that's pretty tasty, if you're wanting that after your salty food and great drinks. Is it Michelin star worthy fare? Definitely not. Yikes. Trying to come up with a positive on this one...the service wasn't terrible? Ok, the fries and beer were fine. The inside is grungy, just a dimly lit bar with a small stage and bar. I'd only consider coming here for a drink and bar food (fries, fried mushrooms, etc). Please stay away from the wings...I took one bite and threw them away. It tasted like week old chicken that was overcooked with some globby thick sauce. It was by far the worst wings I've ever had. The burger was edible but nothing great. Was looking for a place to stop and have lunch after all of the holiday food we had indulged in. Yelp brought up this gem near where we were and based on the reviews , decided to give it a try. It was decked out in holiday fun and crowded before noon. We seated ourselves and our waitress was promptly there to get drink orders and welcome us in. Service was fast and kept our drinks refilled. We went with the special of the day which was a cheeseburger and fries. It came fresh and hot; no premade patties here. I challenge anyone to go to a fast food restaurant and get a burger and pile of fries for $7.99, it can't b done. The burger was fresh, hot, juicy and delicious. Good menu of food platters and a wide range of burgers. 7 beers on tap to include the tasty Goose Island IPA I had with my meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn. Was really great! Service was quick, wait staff, to including the bartender, was courteous and attentive without being suffocating. Ambience was that of an old school place; I thought at any moment Patrick Swayze was going to show up as the bouncer. The attached beer garden has competitive volleyball leagues giving the whole place an energy it might not otherwise have. I've heard there is some pretty significant karaoke on multiple nights a week. Prices are reasonable, both food and drink. Ample seating and fairly well lit. Lots of parking. Last time I went I sang a lot and they had a good Disney/musical theatre list. This time they told me their computers were wiped and I couldn't sing anything from Disney etc. as this had been lost (told me it would be back by the next time I visit). Came in on a Monday for the tenderloin trail. The inside of the restaurant looks like it would be a great time on the weekends. Plenty of bar games, huge stage for karaoke, and a large outdoor area. The service was great. She was very excited to see we were other people doing the tenderloin trail. The pork tenderloin itself was seasoned very well and the sauce that it came with sealed the deal for me. Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this gem! I drive past here frequently and it is always packed. So packed, in fact, that every time I drive past I see people parking across the street and walking over. Opportunity presented itself and curiosity got this cat one evening this week. A friend and myself popped in for a couple of margaritas and to dinner. While the parking lot was swamped, there were several tables available inside as it appeared many of those cars belong to sand volleyball participants. We quickly and easily found a table and almost instantly were brought menus and greeted by a super friendly and knowledgeable young man. Having never been here before we asked for suggestions and were told the Winchester is known for its hot beef and that it was must try. In addition to that we were told the whiskey wings, whiskey burger and taco dog were favorites also. We asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu and decided on splitting the Crab Rangoon French Fries and the Whiskey Burger. Let me tell you, the only way to explain our take away from the food was mind blown! The flavors and creativity were outstanding and I can't wait to go back and try another magical creation! I thought that I wrote this review after my family dined in but realized i hadn't. So I pulled out my notes so I could share my opinion of Winchester Bar & Grill. We visited on a Saturday earlier this summer and the place was busy but not packed. We had six people with us (2 adults, 4 children). We had some good and some bad here, so I will make sure to highlight all of it so that others can make an informed decision. Winchester has always been on my list of places to visit because of food quality, specifically their burgers. They have been around what seems like forever, so they must be doing something right. When you go in, there is table seating, booth seating and spots at the bar. We were seated at a table and started browsing the menu, which consisted of very typical bar and grille faire. We started out with appetizers for the table - poutine and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were fresh, hot and delicious and came with marinara. The poutine was also enjoyed by most of the group that would normally eat poutine and it was also tasty (although maybe a little pricey at $12.99). I also ordered the Uncle Bananas Shot. When I got it, it was delicious. BUT our server was not very attentive and it didn't come before the meal or with the food, so I finally asked about it and got it near the end of the meal. For my meal, I ordered the cheeseburger and fry special ($6.99) - a standard cheeseburger, which was flavorful and juicy, served with a reasonable portion of fries. It was delicious, an excellent value, and I would return and order this again (even at it's regular price). My wife ordered a half portion of hot beef ($8.99) and ate her entire meal as well. My older son got the Dipped Chicken with buffalo and ranch (basically boneless wings, $10.99). He gave some of his away - when I asked if he didn't like it or wasn't hungry, he replied, "they were fine". My 12-year old ordered the Farm Hand, with Onion rings and added bacon to it ($9.99 + $4.99 + $1.99 = $16.99). And my 10 year old who weighed just under fifty pounds at the time ordered ... wait for it ... two kids meals of grilled cheese and fries PLUS chicken strips and fries. Mind you, he never eats a single meal and the waitress never bothered to check that the upsizing/extras were approved. I don't expect people without children to question $7 in upcharges to a meal or burger as with my 12-year old's Farm Hand, but if a ten year old that is super tiny is ordering TWO kids meals, I think that falls under common sense that I should at least: 1) make sure the kid KNOWS exactly what he is ordering, and 2) probably check with the parent that they know what is being ordered. I realize I should probably have listened closer, but he's never ordered two meals and apparent asking for extra chicken tenders with grilled cheese means I want two kids meals. When our food came out with the extra meal, I asked about it (as soon as I could get our server's attention again). They would not take it back or remove it from the menu, which I thought was not customary (unfortunately with kids, we do have to send things back and most places are very accommodating and understanding). The food was very tasty and delicious and everything got eaten (except that extra kids meal). The service was not very good, and the total price paid ($105.47) for was reasonable but a tad high considering 2/3 of the party had kids meals or promotions. All things considered, the food was delicious but there are many places with better service, closer to me, and good or better food quality. My wife and I both agreed that the experience was disappointing and we would not return again. read more

Came here for the first time today after hearing so much hype about the burger. It's definitely a great burger at an even better price! It's a pretty big burger with a lot of flavor. I ordered the tommy wings which had decent flavor and a good crisp but weren't my favorite. I Would say it's for sure a top 10 burger in the city! Our server was very nice and did a good job as well. Very ordinary. Service was poor. Our waitress never checked back or refilled drinks. I finally had to go up to the bar to pay our tab after failing to get her attention for about ten minutes.
