Salon has been my go to for quite some time. Most recently I have seen the quality really decline. The service is rushed, and as a result, the products do not last as long. When normally my no chip manicure would last at least two weeks, after a few days now they are chipping terribly. I've noticed the girls do not take their time curing the polish and I think that is the biggest problem (20 seconds is not enough). I hope that something changes; I really used to love this place. read more

I've only been here once and was honestly supprised by the mixed reviews. My sister an I came in right before close asking if they would take us as walk in's. theyre one of the only salons in town that does Dip and We both wanted dip nails but I needed mine removed first. They were nearing the end of the day and the person at the front desk was nervous in explaining that they would not be able to remove as well as add new dip in only an hour because of time constraints. I asked if I could do Gel instead and they let me do a free removal (not sure if they usually have removal free or just included it because they were not able to give me dip.) The nail tech who removed did a great job but it did take the whole half hour and then she noticed that the light blue gel I chose had gone bad. I'm flexible though so just asked that she pick a similar blue color. She swapped two comparing colors on her own nail and let me choose the one I liked most. The gel service was good and has lasted 2 weeks with no chipping so far. Curious if it will last a third week but I've so far have had moderate results with ANY manicurist in any city getting gel or dip to last beyond two weeks with my lifestyle. I wish I lived in the area and could continue to go back because the service was affordable ($35 for Gel, $45 for dip) considering my nails are growing out faster then they are chipping I'll probably wait until they need to be trimmed down before I remove. read more

I can't give them a 0 star so I will give them a 1 star. I called because of the recommendations I read here on Yelp! Obviously, if I walked in I might get better service. But I called to get some prices and I talked to one lady who thought I asked for the owner. I was told to hold and then spoke with someone else and they said they don't have time to talk, they have customers. I am a Customer Service Rep myself and I can't stand these situations. If you need to call me back, say that. My money is as good as anyone else's ESPECIALLY if I'm treating my wife to your services. I wasn't pleased, still not. I've been here a dozen times since the new year via gift certificates i bought at a fundraiser (bought for more their value to benefit local charity). I really want to like this place, but, the manager/owner continuously ruins my experience bc she wants income. What do I think? "Hey salon, you donated & I purchased. I should get same respect & treatment as all other paying customers." Today while getting my pedi I asked to add a mani. "We have only appointments after this." (It was 2:45p). While I sat under toe fan, the manager/owner took in THREE walk-ins. What? Rewind 8 weeks: The no chip mani I got there chipped the first week. I returned & the manager/owner refused to fix it: full price or $5 to take off. NOT GOOD BIZ. *Can't wait to used all my certificates so I can support a different nail salon. read more

While the people are nice, always feels rushed and they don't use a file on feet (my feet need more than that plastic scrubber). While the toe nail polish may look great, my feet don't look freshly pedicured. I go there only when desparate for a somewhat decent polish but if looking for something more (like softer looking feet) I go elsewhere. read more

Nice place. Clean and friendly. I was in and out in 1 hour for a mani/pedi. $40. They do put tools in a sanitizer but I noticed they don't stay in the sanitizer long enough to truly sanitize, but I guess some effort is better than none. No real complaints but nothing to knock your socks off either. read more

I am always offered a pillow behind my back for comfort and a magazine. The selection of nail colors is good. They have old favorites, trendy options, and new collections with the seasons. Today was my first try at this nail salon, and I'm really happy with the service that I received. Ann did my pedicure; she took her time and made sure that the polish looked perfect. The foot massage was great and after, while I was drying, I was shocked to get a shoulder rub too. Everyone in the salon was friendly and they also have a log of customers in their system and you get "bonus bucks" each time you come that you can put towards a service in the future. First off, I was a nail tech for 27 years. I have been to this salon a few times before, today 3/24/2014 .. I called an asked if they had an opening today for a pedicure and if possible a manicure also.They told me only a pedicure so I said that was fine I was happy to get in at the last minute for the pedicure. So I arrived 5 minutes early because I can not stand being late. When I arrived I was hustled to a pedicure tub which was so hot I couldn't put my feet in so she added cold water. Next I did not even soak for 1 minute she was pulling my foot out, I told her my nails are on the thick side I need to soak for a few minute's that went nowhere like she didn't even hear me. Then she dropped the toe nail clippers on the floor and didn't even spray with alcohol or wipe them on the towel or anything. Then she was using 2 hands to try to clip my nails because they had not been soaked, so you can imagine the pain exceptionally the 2 big toes those are the ones that are thick and ingrown so very painful. And I personally thinks its very disrespectful and very unprofessional to be speaking to your colleges the whole time and on top of it in another language... And to top it off the pedicure lasted 25 minute and was hustled out of the pedicure chair and to the drying station. She never turned on the fans to dry I had to find the button myself, 5 minutes pass and she comes over takes the toe separators out and says your done, I said no I'm not dry is it ok to dry for awhile and she says yes. I sat and read by book for an hour and 38 minutes later she finally had another customer and 2 other ladies were sitting there with no clients.. So why no manicure ?? maybe it was a good thing..The moral to the story is I will not go back and I hope I don't get an infection since I'm on chemo also !!! Ive been coming to Barrington nails for years! They always try to remember your name for when you come back and continue to call you by your name- the experience feels more personal. They are always on time for appointments but you will have to wait if you don't make an appointment on the weekends or after work because they are busy! If you're late for an appointment they will rush through to stay on time, so show up early or you won't get the full experience! I moved 45 minutes away and still come to Barrington nails because I have not found a place as clean, organized, and friendly. You even get free manicures for your birthday! They try to be natural and do not do acrylic nails so you will not be breathing in any toxic powders nor leave with a headache! They have a place for your coat, purse, and rings. An extra little massage and wax treatment is customary for regular appointments. Don't worry, you won't bend over either to get your shoes on, they'll do it for you! read more
