My husband and I found their brunch menu to be delicious on a Saturday. They offer it on weekends and were accommodating to my vegetarian needs. The restaurant is beautiful & clean. I love tacos and Mexican food, as most of it is GF friendly, which makes it much easier to order. The build is easy to find, and parking was a breeze. To order your food, you can do it yourself; there is paper and different menus. Make your own or pick an option that is already on there. They had the label for GF, which made it super easy to order. The salsa and queso were so good, and they did not skip out on how good it was. Everyone was happy and nice, good-natured for all who were there. We will be going back there for sure! read more

This review is for the new Columbia location which hasn't been loaded into Yelp as of yet. First of all, I absolutely hate the ordering processes. When we first were seated at our table we had no clue what to do and it took the wait is good minute to even head over a table. No water no explanation of what we needed to do was given until we had asked. Nothing on the menu taste fresh. Everything is a premade product that you can buy at a grocery store and make yourself. The ambience is way too loud and the 90s grunge is weird and out of place for the vibe. The service was subpar at best and the tables are way too close together which made the flow of the restaurant a big cluster... you know what. If you like overly processed food and having to speak loudly just to have a conversation, then this is the place for you. I can foresee lots of afterwork "happy hour" crowds but nothing more. I rather go to Publico. There's nothing that stands out here that makes it worth giving another try. read more

DT Lexington ... very well lit on the inside and the Day of the dead decor is always a plus .. Since is my G Day week .. and they have FORTALEZA ( if you like tequilas this is for you) I ordered one of those with tonic ... so if you never been to this spot it's made to order tacos so when you see the order don't panic lol ... so for the apps we ordered the tres amigos ... with the guacamole , queso's and a salsa con ... we got the appetizer and it was cold so I had to send it back .. i understood the salsa in the queso would make it cold but sheesh ... 2nd go round much better .But my first taco up was the Barbacoa beef with queso Fresco , onions & poblanos ,lettuce , cilantro and onions , chimichurri and crack sauce ....: whew my 2nd taco was the jalapeños like shrimp with Monterey Jack cheese , onions & poblanos, lettuce , cilantro and onions , chimichrurri both very tasty ... idk what happened to the pics but just take my word for it and try tho new location out read more

Location was clean, my cocktail was delicious but the tacos were some type of strange fusion.... I ordered a taco with their chorizo and it tasted like seasoned ground turkey. The waitress asked about it and I was honest about what it looked and tasted like... the kitchen then sent back two tastings with spoons on a tray - one of beef and one of their chorizo. So I am guessing they were offended. ‍But I stand by my statement.. it looked nothing like chorizo and lacked any actual resemblance of chorizo flavor. I had high hopes but it fell flat. If you're going to make a fusion... whatever direction you go with it, then make the flavors and quality pop. Also th menu situation is confusing as heck, would not recommend. Great tacos! The only problem was at the end of the meal when we got our check, the server had put someone else's beers on our ticket. We didn't drink any beer. When I pointed it out, she refused to correct it and insisted we pay. My guess is that there was a mistake and the server didn't want to get stuck covering their screwup. We stopped in Sunday at 8:20 after my son's baseball game in Lexington. There was still a small crowd but we were told the kitchen closed in 10 minutes so we put in our order. It was immediately obvious they didnt appreciate it. The service was rude and they were cleaning around us like crazy like they had already closed. We just ordered the nachos with the 4 different salsas but only got a small basket of chips which didn't last. When we asked if we could get more chips we were told "no", that the kitchen was closed. The chips in the nachos, a bigggggg concern. They are thin, so they get soggy with the toppings and not easy to eat or share with others. Please change that!!! The Elote Queso deserves a review of its own. I would eat this by the bucket if they sold it. The tacos were very hit or miss. Shrimp Tacos with mango habanero sauce...hit. French dip tacos...rubber in taco disguise. The service was average, the table wasn't cleared after apps so it got cramped. The outdoor seating was lovely though. As a whole, as non drinkers I'm not sure this will be a regular spot for us but I could see where a beer or tequila and building your own tacos is the cats meow. read more

Tacos were delicious, as are the chips and salsa. Can't wait to try other dishes. Restaurant decor is so cute and fun to look at. Restrooms were very clean (extremely important to us as it's likely a reflection of the cleanliness of the kitchen). But most of all, our server, KELLY, was fabulous! But I'm glad there's outside seating and the location is cool! I'm not a fan of the ordering system - writing your choices on a piece of paper. It's kind of complicated...I prefer set menu items. My shrimp taco had only three shrimp and was mostly rice unfortunately. My pulled pork taco was better but also lacking in pork. Chips and salsa weren't good, unfortunately. My drink was great. So this place wasn't bad despite me giving it three stars. I went to the Lexington location. I just think the concept of the place was nice like being able to make your own taco or bowl. I feel with that though it causes confusion with orders and what needs to be made. I feel it needs to be made simpler with maybe less meat options and an easier menu to read. That is my opinion though. I still think it is a great option like to be able to choose from so many options like tortilla type and meats. I just feel it can make things confusing for the person making them and who got what. My order was made wrong, and I got a completely different taco than I ordered. They got it right the second time which is good. I just feel things can be made simpler. Again a good restaurant those things however can make it not be. Depending on your experience. It is still a spot to go back to, you just have to be aware of those things. The execution of the food wasn't bad at all I feel they did a great job and the atmosphere was really cool. This was our very first time so our server was awesome in explaining how the menu worked and was super attentive to us. We ordered the Crab Rangoon Guac which surprisingly was SO GOOD. We weren't sure how that combo would be, but it truly was great and the wontons and Thai chili sauce in the Guac were a great touch. I had the Bomba De taco and it was in fact the Bomba. SO GOOD!! I also made 2 of my own tacos. The pineapple salsa was *chefs kiss* We ordered a margarita flight. Raspberry, white peach and strawberry. Raspberry was my favorite and the white peach was my husbands favorite. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful when it came to picking things out. My custom taco was good. The chips had an excessive amount of salt and half of them tasted old. The peach marg was good, so if you are going more to drink than eat, it's fine. We went to Barrio Tacos on Devine Street last night for dinner. I like the decor, it's very cramped and very loud. I wasn't really impressed with the tacos. The El Jefe was basically just a fancy Taco Bell supreme taco. The ground beef was a little over flavored. Same consistency as a Taco Bell taco. This was my first trip and I always try a place twice. I will go again at lunch to see if it is less loud. We could barely hear each other talking. Service was on point though. read more

My first visit to Barrio was delicious. So many choices of margaritas to start. The menu is small but filled with yummy tacos or you can build your own. I wish I had taken a picture of my shrimp taco but I ate it too fast. It was amazing and I added the rice side which was just enough to complement my order. This is for the new Columbia location. I'm going to give the servers a pass since they just opened. But sodas were flat and took half the meal to arrive. Ordered tres amigos and it came out quickly but the queso already had a skin on it and was room temp. Pineapple salsa had chunks so big you couldn't eat them with a chip. All dips were remarkably flavorless. Shrimp taco was mostly rice (2 shrimp!) and Al pastor bowl was comically small. Agree with other reviews that the tables are too close together and the vibe is weird (loud decor and 90s grunge). I'm betting they are counting on the $10 cocktails to make people forget about the quality of the food. Really wouldn't recommend. read more

Barrios is always a great choice! Excellent food! I've tried sweet potatoes, portobello mushrooms, sirloin beef and chicken. My personal favorite sauce is sweet and spicy! The decor is fantastic with hand painted murals. The service is really good too. Servers and hostesses are friendly and welcoming. I could eat there every week! read more

My son (11) and I visited this location and were very displeased. The food we ordered was nauseating and vile. Complimentary chips tasted very cheap. Super thin. Salsa was the watery brown type. You couldn't eat the salsa with the chips due to the how watery the salsa was. Lacked any consistency. For an appetizer we ordered the nachos exactly how they come. Two bites, done. Yuck. Our main course we thought we were being safe, wrong. I ordered two chicken tacos with onions and cilantro on soft corn tortillas. I was able to eat one. Meat was way over-spiced. Very salty. Cilantro, I'm guessing was from a squeeze bottle. My son ordered two steak tacos plain on flour tortillas. He ate one because I forced him. Same as the chicken, too salty. Meat portions on the tacos were very sad. Three small square pieces around the size of a nickel and thin as well. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. She was also very busy. Her section was full so we waited a little bit longer than usual for drinks and for her to take our appetizer order, expected since she had no help. She was kinda ghost at this point though. Had to flag her down just to order our main course. My son was able to get one refill, I couldn't. Before we received our bill a manager, I'm guessing, came by and asked about the nachos and tacos. Guessing they noticed we barely touched them and half of our tacos were left uneaten. Gave him my honest opinion, thumbs down for us. He wasn't concerned with knowing our dislikes so we didn't offer our opinions. I didn't make a big deal and didn't request anything discounted nor did he offer.
