Food that's always top notch with a staff to match! Barrio is a must-try if you're in the Lake County area or even if you're just passing through. The taco combinations are unique and tasty and you can even build your own tacos, which I love to do! Be careful with the BYO tacos because if you don't know what flavors to combine you're going to be disappointed. For that reason, I recommend that beginners always try the pre-made tacos first! So I just went back to Barrio because I still love them even after receiving cold tacos on my last visit and not receiving a discount or anything. My food came out hot this time, yay! I ordered a fried green tomatoes taco without the lamb sausage or goat cheese. It tasted great, but I only got one tiny fried green tomato on it. It didn't even fill up the tortilla it came in. The menu clearly says "tomatoes", plural, so what gives? Plus, I opted out of two toppings that come with it so you'd think whoever was making it would have at least thrown another tomato on there. I didn't say anything about it to the staff because I don't want to be THAT person, but come on, man! And it still cost $5 because it's the taco of the month. I'm sorry, but that was not worth $5. Love this place! I have been to tons of taco places, but nowhere can compete with Barrio. Especially the Willoughby one!

This location is my favorite so far... Mariano was on top of things! Our food and service was fast and perfect!

I have tried the Barrio in downtown Cleveland before and I would say that this location is a little bit better with the experience overall. I was pleasantly surprised that the majority of the servers they have here are actually attentive. The server I had did a very good job of explaining how to order from the 3 different menus they had. And believe it or not, you actually do get full for the price you pay for the food. Everything on my tacos were cooked well and they brought out everything exactly how I asked for it. My only complaint is that the tables you sit at are a little small for how much space everything takes up. Good beer selection here too. read more

Okay, so I thought everyone was overdoing it with the compliments on this company. I went to the new location in Willoughby. Wait time was an hour so we left to go have a drink at Corks down the street while we waited. Came back, got a table, they just opened so it was a bit crazy with the wait staff. I'm not an adventurous eater and I got the pulled pork, bacon, smoked cheddar, lettuce soft taco and the marinated steak, chihuahua cheese, lettuce soft taco. Side of sour cream and guacamole. This is a whine, so you may want to move on to reviews from patrons who found this to be Heaven on Earth. It's a new restaurant in Willoughby and clearly a young person's fantasy. My partner and I wanted to try a place that my neighbor said had the best tacos in the world! We got as far as the rear of the main dining room and bagged it. Too bad, because we reallyi like tacos! Here's the rub: The restaurant is long and rather narrow with the front entrance on the street and the rear on a large parking lot which is controlled by valet parking. Street parking is extremely limited, so most patrons use valet parking at the rear as we did. It was very crowded on a Friday evening. We made our way through the rear patio, past the carry-out window, into what used to be the main dining room when it was Olivor Twist. There, in front of a sea of tables and patrons, was a sign telling us we had to go through there to the front door to check in with the host! WHAT? Instead, we went back and seated ourselves at an empty table on the patio where we were told by a waitress that she could only seat patrons who had checked in at the front door and ordered the drinks they wanted. Since we hadn't, we were told we couldn't stay at the table. The logic of this escaped us - we wanted to be seated on the patio but we had to go to the front door to get permission to go back through the crowded dining room and return to the patio to be served?? Normally, we are a huge fan and would always recommend this place but their take out to-go experience was dreadful. Their sheet has limited options, you cannot even get lettuce, and rice is considered a protein, you cannot pay extra for extra toppings and their chips and dip set costs more than the tacos themselves. I would not recommend anyone orders take out from Barrio. Only giving two stars because we typically enjoy their dine in experience. read more

Holy chip and dip! I love this place. I always heard my friends talking about going and I finally went with them! I love the food, but the chip and salsa are so damn addictive. Went during breast cancer awareness month and the chips were pink. I thought that was pretty cool. Tacos are amazing as well. Paid this cute location a visit on a Friday during happy hour. Easy $5 parking in the back if you cant find any street parking. Very cute main street to check out after your meal because you will be stuffed! One of the first things that stood out were the chips. Fresh tortilla chips were on point but not too impressed with the house salsa. I also ordered their queso but would've preferred a little more kick to it. I enjoyed the ordering process and picked a custom taco with chicken, one of their taco specials with shrimp, and a tofu veggie taco. I was excited to finally try the food and drinks here. I brought my parents and specifically came during happy hour to enjoy half price margaritas. After being seated, we were told that happy hour prices were available ONLY in the bar area. I was also told I could not go up to the bar to order since I wasn't dining there. What??? We declined sitting in the bar area as it only had high top tables and my mother is unable to sit at a high stool due to joint issues. I told this to my server who still declined to honor happy hour prices or make any other accommodation for us. It's a shame that this establishment is so unhelpful and and unwilling to treat disabled and aging customers fairly. The food was ok, but even if it were spectacular, I will never dine at ANY Barrio location. I only stayed after this interaction as to not upset my parents any further, but I truly felt like my parents were being discriminated against for both age and health reasons. Came here to celebrate an occasion with my husband, daughter and friend, we were a party of 4. We ran into some other friends who were already eating and combined our tables. Upon receiving our check for 4 we were charged an automatic 20 percent for being a party of 8. We had two separate checks for the 2 parties of 4. Asked the manager Nick, he immediately said I will call the cops if you don't pay, what's the problem, it says on the menu. He escalated the situation instead of settling it. It's Sunday, June 23, 2019, and this Barrio location continues to disappoint. We ordered five tacos (two BYO types on the same order), chips, and queso for takeout. After picking up, we discovered all five of our tacos had the wrong toppings. After calling and speaking to a manager, they offered to replace our entire order (about the only thing they managed to do correctly). Upon picking up the second order, we discovered, again, that each of our tacos included toppings we did not order, despite being told that the order was being "prepared by the head chef." When addressed by a manager, we were informed that any issues were our fault because we failed to ask that the two types of BYO tacos be "put on separate sheets" (something that has never been indicated to us despite ordering from and eating at this location for over two years). Instead, the manager chose to inform us of how "failing to ask for separate sheets for a takeout order" means that whatever tacos made are next to one another and has the risk of certain toppings being mixed - which is understandable in an assembly line kitchen. But that does not explain or justify how toppings not even ordered by a customer, or appearing on the sheet, to borrow a line from the manager. Instead, this manager told us that, essentially, whatever mistakes were made were due to our apparent failure to follow a procedure that we were wholly unaware of (even when it was identified over the phone in the order that two separate orders of tacos were being included). We appreciate the staff's willingness to replace our order In lieu of their mistakes, but their passing of whatever blame there was to be had onto the customer was disappointing, and further affirmed our belief that this Barrio location is not equipped to properly handle takeout orders, and is staffed by lackluster individuals. For a restaurant to claim to play such a vital role in the community and take on such a great percentage of the available patronage, it is highly disappointing that they would handle their business in such a way. For all the wonderful restaurants in Downtown Willoughby, with each passing day, Barrio creeps lower and lower on the list of quality places to eat and drink. read more

If I can give this a negative star I would in a heartbeat, went to this place about 1:00am 8/5/2018 to meet a friend my friends were sitting at a table and we were just staying for a minute so we were just going to get a shot and leave, they would not serve us and they told us that there server has to get the shot for us, keep in mind we just got there we were not part of our friends table because we were just stopping to say hello. This is the most unprofessional place Willoughby barrio is the worst I live in Willoughby and I drive to the one in Tremont because I've had multiple bad experiences with this place. Security sits on the bench food is cold service is horrible. Very rude people I will never walk in this establishment again and I will make sure I tell everyone I know to do the same. Our second visit to the new Barrio in Willoughby was a little disappointing. We went for happy hour on a Friday in Lent, knowing they had some good non-meat options as well as phenomenal queso. We arrived around 3:45 PM and asked to sit in the bar area. The hostess shared that we could sit anywhere, so we chose a table next to the bar. However, another hostess came to the table and shared that these tables were to be seated by the hostess, but she would let us sit there. There was only one other table occupied at that time. Our waitress came to the table a few minutes later and indicated that we would have to wait 10 more minutes for happy hour, which was fine as she did bring chips and water and we also ordered queso to go along with the salsa. We waited almost 20 minutes for her to return and then placed our drink and taco order. The tacos were good, though a little slim on the apple slaw, which is one of my favorite parts of the taco. I ate far too much queso and the waitress refilled our chips several times. Overall, it was good, not great, hopefully they will continue to improve. read more

Worst barrio I ever went to. My boyfriend and I ordered a carry out order 2/26/18. Took a little minute for our food but I didn't mind that. Things that pissed me off were my taco had beef and old looking chicken, which I only ordered chicken. I don't eat beef. The chicken was disgusting. No sauce on my taco as I asked for. My boyfriend's tacos didn't even look like tacos. They were so stingy with everything it looked like he only had half a taco with no sauce. They forgot his spicy sauces as well. Apparently people can't read in the kitchen because we seen the waistress circle our orders. For a new establishment that opened in Jan. I would think it would be better. They didn't smile or seem interested in helping anyone and looked upset and angry.
