We just had the worst experience in online ordering from you. Every year for the last several years. We go to Barrio for my husband's birthday which is on St Patrick's Day for Rueben tacos. This year unfortunately we are sick so we ordered online. We struggled to eat three and are pitching the other three they are so bad. The corned beef wasn't chopped but instead cut with the grain making it very tough. They had little thousand island dressing and we can't taste any sauerkraut. On top of all that, there's very little in them. With almost half of fat. They are usually stuffed and something we obviously look forward to. It's not a cheap dinner either. My family tried Barrio for the first time last July and we were very happy. I loved the Build Your Taco option. So many great varieties to choose from. The chips and salsa were great. The guacamole was really good. The restaurant was clean and we loved the vibe of it. Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. We will definitely be back when we are in Cleveland next. read more

Tacos are good/fresh, salsa & chips are good, service is good, atmosphere is nice. However the sides are disappointing. The Cilantro Lime Rice is undercooked (a bit hard) and served cold). This is a really cool place artistically. I gave it three stars just based on that fact. You are given a sheet and you build your taco with everything you would like on it. The last time I was there I felt that the taco I received didn't have much in it. They also brought out guacamole to the table, I thought it may have been ordered by someone in our party. When I looked at the bill (of course after getting in car and driving away) they billed me for it. I asked the other couple if they had ordered the guacamole and they did not. That being said the place was packed! So I would say that they must have their faithful following. Unfortunately it was not my night. If I could give Barrio more than 5 stars I would. It is the best taco you'll eat AND the most economical taco you'll eat in Cleveland. A taco will cost about $4-$5. You chose your toppings. The chips and salsa are great. The margaritas are great. The guac is awesome. If you like queso- definitely get a bowl of queso. I'd suggest ordering one more taco then you'll need to have some great leftovers the next day. If you like tacos- you MUST try Barrio. read more

It's nice to have Barrio come out closer to the suburbs where parking is easy in an attached lot! :) However, I do miss the food quality and service of the original locations. The newest location is in a strip center, which feels like the old dark part of Strongsville. There aren't many lights in the area or establishments. Go just a few miles and you'll feel the liveliness of Southpark Mall. The interior is spacious making it easy for wheelchair accessibility and high chairs. There is outdoor seating as well, which is open in the summer months. More space equals a more open feeling and less crowds waiting around a tight bar space. We were seated a step up in the back with clear views to the TV. Somehow we were seated at a table that shook. Our waitress tried to put pads of paper under it to keep it steady and had no luck. So we sat at a wobbling table all night and no one ever follow-up after. Thank god our drinks didn't spill. They are generous with the complimentary chips and salsa as our waitress brought out refills. For some reason the chips tasted a bit stale, not like the fresh (and super addicting) ones we've tasted at the Lakewood location. The quality wasn't the same. The red salsa was okay, but didn't taste the same as the other locations. In the past we've also been given complimentary green spicy salsa. So, we asked for a salsa verde not knowing this is an extra $5. Luckily, we cancelled the order before it was brought out. The waitress did forget to take the charge off and we had to later have this amount refunded. (So make sure to always get a receipt after signing their electronic credit card charger so you have an itemized list of charges.) The bowls have gone up in price from $4 to now $7, but the quantity has increased! We had enough to take home as leftovers. For vegetarians, they added a BBQ tofu as a protein source. The sweet chili tofu is still my favorite! The tacos were great! Overall, not the same vibe at the other locations. The chips and salsa were a miss, but the tacos were a hit. Wait staff is friendly, but needed to find a resolution to the wobbling table as this could become a safety hazard. read more

This is a review of margaritas and honey guac only. We did not eat here today. First off, we came here bc I read that their margarita was amazing. What I have to say about it is this: they are weird. They have a strange taste. I'm not sure what to say about them. They taste weird. They aren't sweet, which is fine, but they have a strange aftertaste. Not in a good way either. We love margaritas and we would NOT come back here for them. We have eaten at Barrio (not this one) before but never had a margarita - that's what we will continue to do Hubs ordered the honey guacamole. He enjoyed it, said it was very interesting. First visit here in this new location! I've only ever been to the original Tremont location originally. Didn't get to order any food this time around, so this review will only cover the service, drinks, and atmosphere. First off, this place is gorgeous. The walls are covered from floor to ceiling with the artwork that you will find in every other location.. Día de los Muertos themed full of skeletons wearing costumes. The lighting is also beautiful with lamps of all shapes and sizes and colors. The bar has ambient lighting along the bottom which adds even more modernity. You will spend your first 20 minutes just taking it all in. Their craft beer selection is on the small side but has plenty of variety for the craft beer enthusiast. Also got to sample their jalapeño margarita which was pleasantly spicy and yet sweet. Very interesting beverage! Tacos are ordered by taking the long pieces of paper and filling out your various selections, the same as in other locations. I have yet to sample the food here but will soon. My review will be updated accordingly. Strongsville now has an abundance of taco joints now, but even with all the competition, Barrio is a Cleveland landmark and should do just fine, even though this location is out of the way of the shopping and restaurant traffic. So excited for my first Barrio experience but left this place disappointed. Sat for 25 minutes and watched other tables being sat and their orders taken while we tried to figure out the menu. Had to flag down the "Manager" who sat us and the first thing he said was "It's her first day". Appetizers were the wrong items. Waited 10 more minutes for our drinks which were also wrong. Our waters came 10 minutes later. The tacos were overpriced and drowned in sauce. Asked for more chips that never came. Waitresses were very nice but the "Manager" was a dick. Never coming back. Telling everyone I know to avoid this location like the plague. I gave a 20% tip that should have been split between the 3 gals who scrambled to help out the new waitress. Dinner and drinks for two came to $88...not worth it. The decor gets one star. read more

Recommend Barrio if you are in the mood for tacos! Their salsa and guacamole are tasty too. The service was also very good; attentive and friendly. It was my first visit here and I wasn't sure what to expect. You select off of a small paper menu the items you want to order. Most items are build to order, which because of a long work day, wasn't in the mood to pick all ingredients in my tacos. Chose two special tacos and was happy with my choices. Highly recommend the jalapeño lime shrimp one. My favorite of the two I ate. If you do order a taco off of the specials, do note that ingredients can't be substituted out, including the type of taco shell. Third time I've ordered pick-up from here in the past 2 years where they were more than 25minutes behind. As I wrote this as my order is 40minutes late and counting. I have seen people come in get there drinks and order there food, recieve it and finish eating while I wait for the to go order that I placed 30min before arriving at my designated time. I've been a huge Barrio fan for years, my only complaint ever was I hated where they were located. I've visited the Lakewood & Tremont locations both in my option over crowded and tables too close together. I know a lot of people like these locations because they are in the hearts of busy cities; although I love the over all atmosphere and decor I hate having to drive around for parking spots and if you get there when the restaurant is busy having to basically sit on top of the table next to you... and this is why I absolutely love the Strongsville location! Great spot with their own parking lot and still close to a busy city. I frequently visit this location and have always had amazing service, food & margaritas! The staff is always working hard and it leads blows my mind how fast we are seated and served. I love tacos, love them!!! Chipotle alternative has been found! Greatest tacos and bowls around. Great price was able to fill 5 happy customers for $50. Our server was amazing, but I got to hand it to the assistant servers/ buss boys they have been professionally trained and need a job at a a fine dining establishment. Usually Barrio is good..... But tonight was very disappointing...... The weather was nice so we wanted to sit outside.... That was a mistake. Sitting next to us (my two daughters and 4 year old grandson) was a table of younger drunk guys.... vaping, being very loud and hanging very inappropriate language .... Especially with my 4 year old grandson there... It was obvious that their actions were bothering many people but the staff didn't really even care.... Some servers were flirting with them and even the manager was flirting with them.... When the food came out, my daughter's order was wrong and the food was nowhere near as good as it usually is...Very very disappointed... No plans in going back.. read more

After having read reviews, we were a bit apprehensive because the reviews were not the best. Five of us arrived on Saturday 27th around noon. The waitress began by saying this was her fourth day. She did a fantastic job - would have never noticed. Had two pitchers of marg's - one pineapple and one strawberry. We enjoyed them both. We ordered queso and it was spot on. A refill of chips came within minutes. My three tacos were fabulous. Two I built my self and one was from the "signature" list. They were packed and I could actually taste every flavor. Have to say it, this experience beat our other Barrio experiences (primarily the Lakewood location). Overall great and I would highly recommend. We have loved Barrio since it's first location at Tremont. Living closer to Strongsville, we decided to give it a go, with a little hesitation just because of the seemingly so-so reviews on here (but we realize that the complainers are usually the loudest voices). Everyone was so friendly- From the host to the manager who stopped by, and especially the server, who was busy but attentive to our needs. The food was spectacular!! We ordered the new special queso and could have just ate it with a spoon. Chorizo is my favorite of the meat choices, and my girlfriend loves the Thai chili tofu. There was a lot of hype around the Barrio Strongsville when they planned to open before covid and when they finally did we had to try. If you've been to one barrio, you know the deal. Always queso with the complimentary chips. Must get a spicy marg, this one has the Freaky Tiki, and it is spicy how I like it! The tacos are always good! Consistently good ingredients, at every location, so you can count on that! My only qualm was the service. The first time we went we had a server and it was their first night working, so when I got the wrong taco and she messed up our checks I wasn't mad. She was really nice, and I never get mad about a new server, be nice to people! But when I went back a week later, service was terrible. The bartenders (most of them) ignored us. Ok, we were talking a lot, but we had to ask them for everything. From a straw to drinks and even twice for water. She wasn't nice and didn't care about us. I'll go back, because the food is so good, but my expectations are low. Been to several barrio locations, I understand that it's brand new and covid but still poor service compared to the other locations. Drinks: The marg pitchers were all ice and so were the glasses. They were poorly rimmed as well. Some glasses didn't even have a rim even though it was requested ... The service was poor for the group, no one came to refill the water glasses Food: Good similar to other locations but just not as " filled" as the other locations. Probably will continue at Lakewood or downtown. read more
