I haven't been to Barrio in 10 years. I remember the tacos being great the first time around, but what got me this time around was the build-your-own nachos. My friends and I went to Barrio around 7:30pm on a Thursday. The place looked exactly as I remembered it with the calaveras. Service was ok. Our server, Christina, was great, but the food took forever to be made. I couldn't believe how long it took to make nachos. We each customized our nachos. I made mine like a surf and turf with both steak and shrimp. Other toppings included diced onions and cilantro, rojo sauce, Barrio special sauce, and 3 additional cold cheeses on top of the melted queso blanco. I was highly disappointed with my nachos. The chips were thin and got soggy easily. They skimped on the proteins, and the shrimp was very salty. I should've skipped out on the cold cheeses, because they really overpowered the warmth and comfort from the queso blanco. Lastly, the cilantro was inexistent.

Put barrio behind bars because their build a tacos are a steal! Food 3.5/5: tacos are a great size (not those scrawny tiny ones you get at some places) and very filling. The ingredients were fresh and the sauces were scrumptious! 3 tacos, chips and salsa and a size of queso came out to 14$ ambiance 4.5/5: the indoor gives average pub but the outside patio is perfect in the warm weather. Nice music, good shade under the umbrellas and doggos are allowed too! service 3/5: clearly understaffed, the servers were very friendly but it did take over an hour to get 3 tacos. Come if you aren't in a rush and don't mind waiting! tips: - don't overdose on the sauces, otherwise the tacos will be WAY TOO WET - the "hot sauces" aren't that hot!! - 1$ off tacos on happy hour

Located the trendy Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio, Barrio is a local chain serving up a vibrant fiesta of tacos dizzying variety, tasty tequila, and chill good vibes. The interior decor harkens a lively Mexican cantina. The walls are adorned with colorful murals, festive papel picado banners. Their outdoor patio is open during the warmer months that's always lively with sounds of conversations and tables are mostly shaded with umbrellas. The star of the show at Barrio are the tacos (they offer a couple bowl options as well). With a vast selection of signature creations and build-your-own options, there's something to satisfy every craving. "Carne Asada" and "Barrio Chorizo" tacos are my favorite for their kick of aromatic spices Barrio's margaritas did not disappoint. Any of these drinks are rich in flavor while also being boozy. Try their Margarita flight to get a wide range of taste or savor one or multiple of their specials. You can't go wrong. The service at Barrio is friendly most times. My server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful recommendations. The food arrived promptly. fantastic spot for a casual and delicious dining experience in Tremont neighborhood, especially if you're looking for a fun and festive night out with friends or family.

Decent Taco for happy hour. Cheap, filling, with great drinks. I always try to get to Barrio when I'm in Cleveland, as their happy hour is hard to beat if you are in the mood for mexican. Their margaritas are great, lots of options and cheap. Make sure you order 1 or 2 while you are here. The tacos have a lot of options. You get a sheet where you can customize it however you want. Lots of options for the taco, protein, veggies, sauce and extras. Give the tofu a try!

I never order specials and decided today to order 4 different kinds. Tacos were made fast and to go order was easy to do (done through phone call) Hot as click -- not that spicy. I liked the crisp but i don't know if all of the flavors meshed in one bite El sully -- bomb. Probably more of a classic taco but I could've had a couple of these easy. Chorizo was great and that sauce should be kept secret. Bomba de tocinoa -- I believe I got 3 big bacon slices which made me quite pleased! Bacon was super good and had a great thickness. The aioli was a perfect sauce for this taco. La Tierra -- probably my least favorite of the four. The mushrooms meshed with the steak and I couldn't really taste them separately and it all just tasted mushy because of the mushroom. None of the tacos were actually that spicy or as spicy as they advertised. Spicy is easily managed.

Always great food, always great service but the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. I know cleaning bathrooms would be last on ANYONES list but MAYBE considering hiring an actual cleaning service to come in and do the cleanup. It's pretty gnarly in there... come on guys... do better

The ambiance was relaxing and we got the nice cozy booth at end of the bar ordered the Taco's with a side of rice and beans and a few margaritas. The food was delicious and we had a damn good time, but what really impressed us was the incredible service. Our server Dan was literally amazing, highly attentive and made us feel at home. I don't think I have ever had better service in my life. After that experience we said we had to come back again. So, we did. We came back to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday on a Friday. To our surprise the place was packed and busy. Since they don't do reservations we knew for sure we wouldn't get our cozy booth and the service would be no where near as good as it was last time. I was pleasantly surprised. As we enter the packed restaurant, a man came up to us with such a positive and friendly attitude and told us about the wait time and that he would add us to the list. While we waited we ordered margaritas and talked further with the man. This man turned out to be the Owner of Momocho, Eric. This guy is one of the coolest dudes you'll ever meet. He gave us a few of his delicious recipes he created, told us about his restaurant, and remarked on how great his incredible staff is, especially Dan. After the wait, Eric escorted us to the top floor, and to our surprise he put us at the "Chef's table". We had front row seats to watching the Amazing Chef's cook. Chef Manny was fantastic, watching him work, talking with him, and answering our questions about the different dishes made are experience that much more enjoyable. He took our orders: "Little Tacos" we got the Pollo, Machaca, Side of rice, Barbacoa with a fried egg and a flight of Margaritas. Everything was insanely good. The Margaritas are very tasty definitely recommend. At the end of our meal Dan personally delivered my girlfriend one of their delicious "Chocobomba" desserts with a candle in it, and Sang happy birthday with me. Overall this place is a 10 out of 10. I highly recommend it. I want to sincerely thank Eric, Dan, and Manny for the incredible experience, and for making my girl friend's birthday a memorable and special one. Also wanted to toss in here that it was fantastic seeing one of my favorite servers from the now closed restaurant "Xinji" working on the Momocho team. Shout out to Jack.

It was very busy and we were told there is a 30 minute wait. Not much else in the area so we hung out by the bar and got seated sooner than expected. The first floor is more casual with bar seating and high top tables. The second floor is more formal dining tables. You'll need to climb stairs (did not see an elevator). I was a bit skeptical if we'd have enough options as vegetarians, but was pleasantly surprised at how full we got from all the items we ordered! The guacamole trio, flautas, remolacha, salsa and chips, and drinks. We were there to celebrate a birthday and I asked staff (maybe a manager) if they do anything to celebrate. He mentioned they have a fried ice cream and can put a candle in it. I hadn't confirmed what dessert we planned to order, but before I knew it they came around with the fried ice cream and candle. So, we got to try that. Overall, good food.

At $20, it felt a little pricey, but the portion was generous enough for sharing. For my entrée, I ordered the Pollo Ala Crema, thin slices of sautéed chicken breast with cream sauce, Spanish rice, grilled corn, Brussels sprouts, a crispy corn cake, aji verde, and crumbled bacon. It was a unique combination of flavors that worked really well together, and I enjoyed the dish overall. Parking is available on the street, or after 6 p.m. you can park in the lot adjacent to the restaurant and pay through the mobile app, which was convenient. After waiting about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone, I decided to at least check out the restroom while I waited... and that's when everything went downhill. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.

For whatever reason, tacos sounded like the perfect comfort meal after braving the airport. I stepped into Barrio on a weekday afternoon and if I didn't know any better, I would have thought they were closed based on the quiet street and customers inside. There were 6-7 other guests in the restaurant but beyond the music, it was very chill in there. I took a seat at the bar and I was promptly greeted by a nice guy behind the counter. He explained the taco ordering process to me, showing me the order form and even sharing his personal favorites. I love the ordering form! It's cool to see all of the options in one spot, the choices were extensive. I decided to go with 1 specialty taco, the La Tierra, 1 chicken taco and 1 steak taco. I also got a side order of guacamole and pico de gallo. I'm so bummed that I don't remember the second sweet guy who assisted me, I believe it started with a D. He was the sweetest! About 15 minutes after I ordered, he came back with his hands full of bags. We both looked at each other and laughed because, why did y'all give me all of these bags?! LOL. Turns out they bagged each item separately (paper bag and a plastic bag). I felt so greedy omg. I had to quickly rebag it all before I walked out, lol. My tacos were delicious! Albeit, a little soggy due to the sauces I requested to have on them. The guacamole and pico were also delicious but a bittttt too salty and limey. I usually like my guac and pico with a little extra kick, but I could have done with one less dash of salt and one less squeeze of lime, lol.
