It's not difficult to observe how much the retail and service industries have transitioned from a one time consumer centric economy to a lackluster customer market place We are checking and bagging our own groceries, waiting on hold for someone human to speak with who can assist us with resolving problems, constantly being transferred to someone else asking for us repeat the same requests. In visiting stores how often are we being under-advised by sales representatives that are unable to provide specific information needed to make buying decisions. It certainly appears that today's business model is moving at warp speed to automate production and delivery and in doing so is leaving consumer satisfaction as a low priority. So when shopping for new appliances and other expensive items I as well as many folks within my circle of family and friends am greatly concerned with making the best possible purchasing decisions. Not only during the initial sales process but extending to issues that may need help after the product has been delivered. Understand that I rarely submit reviews but because my buying experience was so exceptional from Barry's and in particular with our sales manager Tony La. Tony guided us through which washing machines were best suited for our home, upgraded our product to ensure that we could have delivery in quick time period. Discounted the overall cost to match all other competitors and was immediately available to answer a few questions about the machine. I will also mention that the delivery service was on time and meticulously installed. Shopped for and ordered kitchen appliances. Ryan was very responsive at the quote stage and warned us of an upcoming price increase from many manufacturers which we were able to avoid by moving quickly. Took delivery of a couple of our appliances (rest are pending kitchen remodel). Delivery guys were extremely careful moving the old appliances out and new ones in. Due to some miscommunication on their end they didn't know they had to take out our old fridge, but they quickly adjusted and got the job done with a smile. Our 2 year old dryer malfunctioned on thursday afternoon. the service technician arrived on Friday morning and told us that we needed a new motor and other parts - big expense. my wife decided that she did not want to invest in repairing it - she wanted new! we called Barry's Appliances and spoke with Julia Hoffman. she had the preferred model in stock at a very acceptable price. My GE Profile washing machine completely stopped working after 2 1/2 years. It was a Friday and I was leaving for vacation in a week. I contacted Jennifer at Barry's and she immediately set up a repair person to come out on Monday. She followed up to make sure I got the text and email with the appointment information. The person showed up on Monday and was able to replace the electronic board which had gone bad. I never expected to need a repair after such a short time but was happy that I had purchased my appliances at Barry's as this was handled quickly and professionally. I had a problem with my clothes dryer yesterday - I called Barrys and spoke to the nicest most helpful young man Ryan. The service at Barry's is always very good. We exchange our propane tanks there all the time and they take the empty one from your car and replace with new one for $20.00. Good deal. We bought our dryer from them and recently a washing machine (Amana) - small one with the agitator inside! Those news washers don't don't wash clothes like the old machines do! They have good selections. Delivery is timely and they take the old washing machine. We've dealt with Jason all these years when we need. Great place. You won't go wrong. read more

I was looking for a 12" over the stove top microwave that serviced as an exhaust and they had one on the floor that I could check out. Other stores did not have it. I'm the type that needs to see an item in person to determine a purchase and/or need to touch and feel it. Although, we decided to go a different route and not install a 12" microwave, I just had a GUT feeling that Barry's would have it!! And lo'and behold, they did!!!! :) Kelley was great!!! When we converted our 1820's barn to our primary residence, we purchased all kitchen appliances from Barry's, including a 48" Bluestar stove, hood, industrial fridge and freezer and more. All at good prices, all professionally installed. Subsequently we had issues in which one of the OEM's was unable to meet its repair obligations under the extended warranty we had purchased. Jen Robb and the Barry's team intervened and spent considerable time and effort to resolve all our issues, after 10 months of frustration with the fridge/freezer supplier. (Previous 5-star review was 4 months ago for purchase and delivery of all major kitchen appliances for a kitchen remodel and a new washer and dryer) The gas clothes dryer started making a noise requiring service. Barry's had a repair person arrive within 24 hours. The noise was eliminated and dryer once again runs and sounds like new. As always I like to start my review with available parking. Sooooo they have 5 or 6 parking spots. This is the only thing in this review that I'm not sure of. Ok as for service because they don't design or build anything here. They get one star... and that's a lot. I placed my order back in April for a grill and a grill cover. Here we are July and I very recently got my grill and still no cover. This place has ZERO communication. They told me at the time of order that I'd get my grill at the end of may because the world is all messed up. End of may came and went and no call no email no letter on smoke signal.... NOTHING. So I called to see where my order is. They simply say oh not here yet ...we will let you know. Very like "whatever". So when I placed the order it was explained to me that I'd receive a call the morning of delivery with a 2 hour window. Then a call 20 minutes prior to delivery. Well that didn't happen either. I received a call the morning of delivery saying "we'll be there is 15 minutes" remember I didn't know the delivery date and no communication from them this entire time. So again at the time of order they say they will deliver the grill and build it. Well again not true. They did deliver but it was already built...which leaves me asking. Is this just some floor model? Finally we get to the cover that was ordered at the same time as the grill. July 7th and still no cover. Oh and I went there and after a phone call to whoever. I was told 3 more weeks LOL .... I understand the world is upside down at the moment but simple phone calls would have avoided a lot. So apparently I had this draft sitting and must have forgotten to post it till now. But it was correct at the time and I can only think it's the same today. read more

He has been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, patient and really goes above and beyond. We spent weeks visiting many appliance stores and Chris' customer service is unmatched. Jim was very nice/helpful when we ordered the new AC unit (the large kind that is built into the wall) - but very disappointed when we received a phone call on the DAY OF delivery saying they weren't doing deliveries today (Monday July 5th). This was just scheduled a week prior when the unit was ordered/paid for. How did no one there know or think to call until 9:30AM on the DAY OF delivery, that they already committed to? We made arrangements on our holiday weekend to be home this day for the delivery/installation, really unprofessional to call on the DAY OF and say it's not happening. Had to make arrangements to work from home on a different day to accommodate their scheduling f up. Should not have had to pay $300 for this delivery/installation considering their major scheduling error which wasted not 1 but 2 days of our time to be home waiting around for them. read more

Dear Ryan and Jason. I personally have spent hours calling, texting and emailing just to get a status update on all my appliances that I paid a considerable amount of money for. I was truly shocked and disappointed by this situation, especially the lack of accountability. I used Barry's because they are a local business and I had planned on using Karl's Appliance but switched because of wanting to help the little guy. This completely backfired as the professionalism and service I endured from Barry's has been completely lacking. I purchased a FULL APPLIANCE SUITE from Barry's on 2/27/21. I felt under pressure to do so urgently as I was informed by the sales person that pricing would increase on 3/1. I purchased everything the day I came in 2/27. I was told that I would not have to take immediate possession of the Sub Zero kit or Freezer until all the other appliances were delivered on 5/18 I reached out to Barrys week of May 25th regarding my appliances and you stated "did not know if they would be in". Barry's did not follow up so after a few days I called the store and was told by the female answering the phone that they would not be available until August. I immediately asked to speak to a manager. I called every day for almost a week finally Ryan called me and I let him know I wanted everything available to be delivered. I was promised delivery on 6/4 which never happened. a partial delivery on 6/5. Delivery of freezer and Refrigerator did not occur until end of august note: I was given a free install as compensation for delay it is sept and still not done In addition when they delivered the refrigerator and freezer they scratched my new hardwood floor-see photo It is now September and still do not have all my appliances Again, the lack of responsiveness of management not returning texts, phone continues to this day as a customer I had a choice and I thought supporting local business was the right decision. Update. FYI I had left messages for Jason since May 2021. His first communication to me has been a response to Yelp review! I personally reached out to the manufacturer myself with no help from Barry's. Jessica from the company has been with me every step of the way. Yes, they accepted accountability for the delays in manufacturing. I am happy with them and their honesty. However, my merchandise was in Barry's possession yet they still couldn't deliver on time based on their own delivery date. So that's on them. Finally The install was completed, Barry's installers were not certified by the manufacturer. The doors on are uneven see photo. BTW they even attempted to collect the $800 install fee from me after stating it were doing the install as a good will gesture I am done! read more

We ordered all of our kitchen appliances from Barry's about two years ago when we did a remodel. Our Bosch refrigerator arrived with a few dents. We were promised new doors. However, life ( and two babies) happened and we completely forgot about it. Until a few weeks ago the refrigerator stopped working altogether, there was an issue with the door flap not properly closing. We called our contact at Barry's, Kelley, and found out she was no longer there. We were put in touch with Jen Robb the customer service manager and she apologized for the oversight and immediately fixed the situation. Two weeks later we received a brand new (I believe updated model) of our Bosch refrigerator. The delivery men were very kind and polite. They had to remove our front door and our old fridge which wasn't an easy task! On top of that Jen gave us a $100 discount on the extended warranty and followed up with us! Tony came, knocked on my door with a tool in his hand. 5 minutes later Toby was walking out the door - job complete, door closing as it should. When the pilot on my oven died in the fall, I called on Julia Homann to find a replacement. After explaining what I was looking for, Julia found a replacement oven for me that exceeded my expectations and the entire process from start to finish was less than 10 minutes. Between being in my busiest time of the year as well with dealing with Omnicron, I had to delay installation and Julia demonstrated a high level of patience and when the time came for Installation, Barry's installers were fast and flawless with that installation. I am not one to write review but disappointed in the lack of follow up and responsiveness after purchase of washing machine and dryer. Started with delivery, when i had to call multiple times on day of delivery to check status. Then I sent an email requesting updated receipt and rebate form and never heard back and had to call to follow up. After getting rebate form, the system told me it was not eligible and I called back and was told somebody will follow up....of course nobody called. I have bought appliances from Barry's in the past, but very disappointed in lack of responsiveness after I made purchase. read more

The sales rep gina was fantastic. We had an issue with the installation of a cooktop not being installed properly. It stopped working 1.5 weeks before Christmas. We called jen the coordinator and she basically said its either a fault in equipment or an electrical issue. I knew it was the installation being it went on and off sometimes then nothing . She said i would need to wait a week before they came out. They were busy but i said i need it now because of Christmas and a pre Christmas party before. She got kind of rude and said you will have to wait. I did and they fixed in 5 minutes. A wire nut dropped and the power disconnected. That is very dangerous because of a fire hazard. He simply put a new wire nut on ans this time taped it. I had a new cooktop that couldnt be used because of that. They could have come out earlier. You make it happen. I was referred by my brother in law and he by a friend. 10s of thousands spent. We will not be returning due to the way this was handled. read more
