I was invited to class by the instructor, Chanty, through lululemon's Sweaty Pursuits and I'm SO glad I went. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment I walked in, the energy was high, the music was on point, and the staff made me feel welcomed and hyped instead of intimidated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chanty is an incredible instructor super clear with her cues, motivating without being over the top, and really good at checking in and offering options whether you're new or more advanced. The mix of treadmill and floor work had my heart rate up the entire class, but the time flew by because the programming and playlist were so good. What really sealed the deal for me was the experience after class. The locker rooms and showers were spotless and perfectly equipped with everything I needed: towels, toiletries, hair products, dryers literally all the post-workout essentials so I could leave feeling refreshed and ready to go on with my day. If you're in the Aventura area and want a challenging, fun, and well-supported workout, I can't recommend Barry's Aventura enough. I'll definitely be back for more of Chanty's classes! read more

The class consisted of running and a band with a weight. If you are looking for a burn this is the class to take. The parking was a challenge because there are so many restaurants nearby but they have an available parking garage(charging hourly). read more

I have been coming to Barry's for a long while now, but this location is the one closest to my parent's house, so when I'm in town, I always stop by! I feel like the hype around Barry's has slowed down, especially since the classes are a not as full as they once were. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have taken classes here most recently with Josh and Chanty and they both are lovely. They are motivating and so positive--their energy is unbeatable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The studio is very clean and spacious and even with the red lights on, you can still see. My only complaint is that the sound system is aging and sometimes it's hard to understand the coach if the bass is too high. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The front desk are all really friendly and welcoming, so that's really nice to walk in to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is parking validation for the garage upstairs, which is nice to not have to worry about an additional expense when the class is already pricey. I also get a shake after class and I feel like the protein they use has changed because they aren't as good as they used to be! Anyway, I look forward to taking more classes here soon. read more

I came back to Barry's after a few years after my first couple of visits. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect with all of the new COVID safety precautions... I signed up for one of the outdoor classes - this class (Arms and Abs) was with Sebastian. I arrived 15 minutes early and parked in the connecting parking garage (be sure to bring your parking ticket to Barrys so they can validate it for you!) I went to the front desk and checked in and the front desk rep wasn't very friendly or welcoming me and directed me to the 7th floor of the parking garage for the class. They also directed me to the smoothie bar to validate the parking prior to me going to the parking garage. When I arrived at the class area, I was the only person there besides one worker. The worker directed me to pick up a mat and set of headphones and showed me where my place in the class was. This rep was much friendlier than the person at the front desk. Sebastian arrived a few minutes later and introduced himself to me and he was very friendly. Most of the other people in class showed up about 5 minutes prior to class starting and another 5 or 10 people showed up between 5 and 10 minutes after class started. I really think it's disrespectful for these latecomers to be allowed in; if they're not there by the time the class starts, they should be "locked out" as it disrupts the class by people coming and going. This then caused the class to go 10 minutes late. If I schedule myself for a particular class, I'm there on time, so because they were late, then my schedule got pushed back. For the class, everyone was wearing headphones that had a hand-picked music playlist with Sebastian giving instructions. Sebastian also came through and checked on people in the class to make sure their form was great. Overall, it's a really great studio and challenging class. I would say the areas of improvement would be front desk staff friendliness, along with the studio enforcing customers to be on time for their class. I came to Barry's via ClassPass, and it does cost a lot of credits, so I usually will pick other studios that are typically a little more affordable, but I would mix them back in occasionally. read more

I have a love hate relationship with working out at Barry's. I've done several Barry's workouts (in studio), and my thoughts during every workout I've done oscillate while on the treadmill between "Holy crap I'm dying, what did I get myself into" and "oh I'm doing it, I'm running really fast, this is cool". I work out pretty heavily consistently with a lot of different gyms, and Barry's is definitely one of the hardest workouts out there. I think it's mainly because of the cardio component of it. You'll spend about a total of 20 minutes on the treadmill, or as I learned today, doing floor cardio work---it's your choice. That cardio is broken up into 2 different sessions within the workout.. If you're on the treadmill, the instructor will take you between jogs and sprints for 1 minute intervals by calling out the speeds to go at. But as they say at the beginning of each class, the speeds are only a guideline, and they are only looking for a difference in your jogs and sprints. That being said, I would advise that anyone taking their first class not follow the speeds being called out, because it can be dangerous and lead to an injury. I doubt that anyone who doesn't speed run on a regular basis would think a jog is 7 miles an hour and a sprint is 10 miles an hour. I set my speeds with the expectation that I'll increase them as I go, then mainly spend the treadmill intervals hoping really hard not to slip and fall off of my treadmill. But I will tell you that I run my fastest speeds during Barry's workouts. The focus of the strength intervals will vary on the day. Mondays are arms and abs workouts. I did one today and know I'll be sore tomorrow (because I already am). The trainer Michael is really motivating and has great attention and energy. My workout group was about 6 people, so he learned everyone's names and kept an eye on each person to correct form and challenge longer holds and faster running speeds. I did notice that what makes the strength rounds more challenging is that they're longer than workouts elsewhere. Each interval lasts about 1 minute and will repeat at least once. Do you feel tired already? There is only 1 way I'd book a workout here, which is through ClassPass. One class costs $32 and memberships start at $250, so I'll just keep dropping into this location whenever I have free time and find a class that fits into it. It's worth attending though! I had so much adrenaline when we finished the workout that if someone had tapped me on the shoulder, I would have punched them. If you think you're fit, try a class here! read more

I've been really enjoying all of the instructors and classes at Barry's. I even bought a monthly package. Although, the front desk and smoothie bar staff is very unfriendly. I had yet to encounter an amicable staff member other than the instructors. They do not greet clients when walking in but have a sullen look on their faces like they don't want to be working. Specifically the woman with the nose rings. Asking for help or ordering or a smoothie is like asking for a huge favor. I actually waited at the smoothie bar recently to order something but decided to go elsewhere as the woman was so unhappy and angry. Honestly, if you are paying 30$ a class, 13$ smoothie, 250-500$ a month, there needs to be a warm and happy staff that is glad to work. I am really enjoying the classes but considering moving to another studio as the staff is completely unappreciative of business. read more

Came down to Florida for the holiday. This was the closest Barry's and it did not disappoint. I took Sam's class twice which is a high intensity workout. She's great at pushing everyone in the class and remembering their names. I left feeling great and would definitely recommend her class. The facilities are also great and the smoothies were on point as well. Will be back next time I'm in town. read more

This is the best Barry's location in South Florida, hands down. It's huge! Parking is free in the garage you just have to drive up to the third floor. There's lots of seating to wait ahead of class and everything is always nice and clean. The employees are all nice for the most part and the instructors are great. A lot of the teachers also teach at other locations around Miami so you know what you're getting yourself into. I wish they had a 6pm or 6:30pm class so I could just come here after work instead of midtown or Miami Beach. read more

This is a very well run Barry's bootcamp. As someone who has been two around 10 different locations I would say this one is one of the best. The staff is very friendly. The instructors have all been great. The only issue is with parking but not really their fault! read more
