I love Bart me and my son love to come here and pick up trash while we wait for our bus transfer. Sometimes I have panic attacks here and the wonderful staff calls me an ambulance or my wife. They know me so well here I love all the Bart and bus employees and the Bart police for keeping us safe and moving around in the community Bart is a staple of Antioch now and a lot of people rely on it! read more

Unusual train that leads up to the last Antioch station. Its new and I think gas or diesel powered!? My first time on this train was a few days ago. Never been on these before - you get out the normal electric Bart train and conveniently transfer across the platform - just a few steps. The trains are gigantic compared to the old trains from the 60s. There are luggage racks way up high and I think the engines might be in the middle of the cars under. Where I'm guessing the engines are you need to go up and down stairs if you want to move from one train to another. Very unusual train. I'm now curious how this came about - the design. Never been on the OAK airport one - but I think that is electrically cable driven. read more

Antioch BART station has some of the most unfriendly staff I've ever encountered in the entire BART system. If you need help with your Clipper card or ticket, they don't offer assistance--instead, they treat you like a fare evader before even listening to what you have to say. It's frustrating when you're just trying to explain a situation, and they respond with suspicion instead of support. Instead of actually helping, they talk over you and dismiss your concerns. Customer service is clearly not a priority here. BART riders deserve better. read more

This station is nicer and cleaner than many of the others, but that is probably mostly because it's newer. Pick up is also pretty easy. We use this one because it brings you further in towards the valley but the truth is that you have to switch trains when you use this station and that is super inconvenient and can be confusing for people who don't use this system all the time. Sometimes it's just easier to add on to your drive rather than to change trains and it has caused delays and issues in the past. It's nice to have this station but I really wish they could have connected it so people can go all the way without having to switch trains. read more

I'mma be honest here: the parking lot is TIGHT. While I like how there is an extra lot since it's always packed at this station, I think it would have been better if there was a parking garage there that provides lots of parking and access. That would have been better. BART should have thought this through while creating the extension. It's a 10 minute drive from my place, and overall I haven't had any issues. Well, except for the occasional homeless people roaming around the area. read more

First off, this whole experiment of expanding BART without using legacy trains and direct service is just not good. People want one seat service and this section will suffer. However, the Antioch Station is pretty nice. Parking is ample and partially shaded, although this may be tight on a weekday commute. Access from Highway 4 is a bit weird having to backtrack a little on a small road. The platform is in the median of the highway, so you have to travel over the cars to access the boarding area. Unfortunately, this area is rather noisy with the highway traffic. The main entrance is identical to all other stations with the same fare machines and turnstiles. The new BART cars are really nice inside, but they burn diesel fuel! BART has always been electric, and it's tough to hear that Diesel engine polluting the air even with all the clean wind turbines just across the water. Plus the transfer to "real BART" was clunky on my visit and just not BARTable. I get that we like to do things on the cheap, but the Antioch extension is just not right. It's awesome that the delta has access to BART, but this is just not right. Hopefully they can eventually just run ACE or Amtrak down the corridor and connect to the mainline at Martinez to the new Transbay Tube and forget this nonsense. read more

I really don't think they really thought this through. Terribly congested area with people coming from Brentwood, Oakley and Antioch. So they build the smallest parking lot with 1006 spaces at $105 per month. If you take Uber or Lyft it's terrible. I live 2 miles from the station and I pay between $7.80 and $10 for a one way trip. That's a lot more than the monthly pass which is a huge disservice to BARTs customers. Since I can't park there my monthly bill for two Uber trips per day runs about $14 which is just over $300 per month. Then to make things worse it's a tiny little train and you have to transfer to another real BART train in Pittsburg. I was so excited to have BART close by but it's just not worth it. Glad that I no longer have to ride BART I could have a new car for $300 per month. read more

Some 15 years ago, I sat on a Pittsburg committee of local businesses with the intent of giving guidance to BART as to what the Antioch extension should look like and where a Pittsburg station should be built. I never did see the final recommendations but it seems that BART didn't update their population count in Antioch, Brentwood and Discovery Bay. The Antioch parking lot is hopelessly inadequate and there are certain times of the day when the two car trains are packed like sardines. Now the plan is to build 800 parking spots at a cost of $20,500 each. Given that the waiting list for a permit spot is already more than 1500, does this make any sense? And why does it take until the Fall of 2020 just to pave a lot? This location begs for a multi story lot but knowing BART's outrageous building costs, that won't happen. read more

As a long time BART user to get to and from work, I can tell you now that this new station, so far, has been a complete and unmitigated disaster. Where do I even begin? First, I live in Antioch, about a 5 minute drive from the extension (in no traffic conditions). This new station was designed to relieve congestion on the VERY heavily traveled highway 4, which people use to get from the suburbs to the city, where all the jobs are. The first station on the BART line (before the Antioch extension was made) was the Pittsburg/Bay Point station. This station fills by 6am at best, so people like me who don't leave for work til 7am have to drive past it to the next station, North Concord/Martinez. Fair enough, it is what it is. So when I heard there was a BART station opening up right next to my home, I was excited, but cautious, as I figured all the spots would be taken before left for work. I went to the station yesterday to check it out. Not only does parking fill up FAST, but about 1/4 of the spots are permit spots, which means you have to pay $105 a month to use them. So I paid taxes for this station to be built, just for the city to tell me 1/4 of the spots are blocked off from my use unless I fork over even MORE money. The spots are in high demand too, as I'm currently #1,490 on the wait list. How the city didn't anticipate the high demand blows my mind. Why not build a 2nd story parking structure to accommodate the heavy demand on parking? Very short sighted by the planning committee not to plan for this. So basically, this BART station is not accessible to me. I end up driving to work like always, with the hope that the Pittsburg station will now have parking, as the people who used to drive to Pitt will now drive to Antioch instead, opening up Pittsburg parking. I was also looking forward to seeing traffic congestion ease, with 1,000 cars off the road (the Antioch parking capacity). Boy was I wrong. Traffic along highway 4 was just as bad as it's ever been. This indicated to me that parking at Pittsburg BART would be full, and not worth stopping at, so I continued on to North Concord. When I arrived at North Concord, parking was just as bad as it's ever been (I arrive around 7:45am roughly, every day). I can always get a spot, but I have to park in the back of the lot and walk quite a distance to the station. So the new Antioch BART, which has I'd say 200 spots I can't use unless I fork over $105 a month extra, failed to relieve highway 4 congestion, failed to provide ample parking to properly encourage commuters to actually want to use BART, and failed to relieve the miserable parking conditions at the Pittsburg and North Concord spots. Most of these problems could've been solved with a 2nd story parking garage, or even a public bus system that wasn't completely nonsensical like the one we have here (see my review on Tri Delta Transit for more). A complete and unmitigated disaster. BART planning committee: If you're going to do something, do it right. read more

For a new hub and something that makes millions a year. They can't even have the basic change machine up. Some of their machines won't take more than dollar bills. It's already dirty and stained and has been opened for less than 3 months. Not sure what these executive Bart personnel are doing. I don't even think they take Bart. Useless. With crime on the raise, Bart prices go up Every year. If you don't want to catch some random virus or smell like a homeless person, you just avoid Bart like the plague. Trains are from the 60s. Can't even do basic upgrades to them or keep them clean. read more

I rode the new BART Antioch extension yesterday, its first day of regular service. The extension has two stations, Pittsburg Center and Antioch. A future extension to Brentwood is promised. Parking at both stations appears ample. Although the map makes it look as if it's simply an extension of the existing line beyond Pittsburg-Bay Point, it's actually a physically separate operation, built to standard gauge rather than BART's usual broad gauge, and operated with diesel rail cars rather than the heavy electric multiple unit cars of the rest of the BART system. Passengers must change trains at an isolated transfer platform (no street access) about half a mile east of the Bay Point station in the median of CA-4. It's a simple across-the-platform transfer, but still an inconvenience which may discourage some passengers, especially in bad weather. The diesel cars are sleek and modern-looking. They're quiet and ride reasonably well, though with some side-to-side sway. No exhaust smell, but there was a noticeable brake aroma as the train approached the station. Seating is less comfortable than on BART's electric cars: more closely packed, near-upright backs, and minimally upholstered. It was busy Saturday, but most of the passengers appeared to be curiosity riders and railfans checking out the new service. It will be interesting to see how regular passenger loadings play out. read more

First time riding the train from the station and honestly even the upgraded hybrid train capsule vehicle makes the experience so much better. There are even luggage racks above to maximize space for actual bodies. I understand that parking is an issue but there's more than enough room for a parking structure to be built-money,time, and planning may not have allowed for it. I would keep a lookout for an improvement in the future. For now, I am just glad that A. Cities are smart enough to pay into Bart (for the sake of everyone) B. That Bart is expanding into every crevice of the Bay Area C. And that my Dad finally gets a break from dropping me off at Pittsburg/Bay Point Station when he lives a block or so away from the Antioch Marina. Thank you!! read more

They never run on time, they make you wait for several other trains filled with people to come before your able to get on a train at their transfer station in Pittsburgh and they always make you at least 1/2 hour late to work in the morning!! If I were rating the new Antioch station just on the trains and the station, I would give 4 stars. It could be 5, but the station interior is a little tight. However, I have to consider the (lack of) parking, which is the station's Achilles heel. When you hear BART is coming to your town, you imagine it will open a world of opportunity. Suddenly BART comes along and a 2+ hour one-way commute by car to SF from Antioch is now cut in half. Amazing! Except... The parking. Antioch station has only 1,000 spots, and around 200 of them are paid/reserved. The first two days the station has been open, the lot was full by 5:30 a.m. So if you want to ride the train, you have to drive to Pittsburg - which takes up to an hour stuck on Highway 4. BART had some suggestions for me. Ride the bus? The fastest "express" option, the 300, takes 46 minutes to get 9 miles from Brentwood Park & Ride to Antioch station. Try a Scoop carpool? Tried it, but Scoop couldn't pair me with another rider. Maybe not enough users yet? Who knows. The trains are nice and new - how long will that last? (There was already vandalism in the Antioch yard two days BEFORE fare service started.) They are small, too, with only 100 seats that fill up quickly. But the ride is very smooth, and overall the DMU trains are a huge upgrade over the old fleet that runs on regular BART today. It was jarring to get off of eBART and get on the old cars at Pittsburg/Bay Point. So - long and short, BART built a service extension to Antioch like they promised, but most of us can't use it. It's like they built a soda fountain in the middle of the desert, but only give out 800 cups a day. The rest of us have to stand there and look at it, disappointed and thirsty but unable to get a drink. read more

The BART station is convenient. I don't usually rate BART stations. I am doing so so that issues can be addressed. The reason I gave this place 3 stars is because as I was exiting, 1 passenger barged out of the turnstiles to avoid paying, and another passenger attempted to take my ticket out of my hands at the turnstile because he also didn't pay. Meanwhile, there is someone screaming for dear life nearby, possibly in the bathroom. There was ONE, I repeat, ONE BART officer trying to get the 2 criminals to pay AND try to get to the screamer in the back, and this officer is on his radio discussing the events to some central BART source while struggling to juggle all these problems. The BART station is new and clean, but there needs to be stronger policing here. I did not feel safe, and that BART officer needs twice the pay for the amount of problems he had to deal with. read more

Super clean but let's be real it's as clean as any Bart station would be that has a bathroom! I traveled from SF and back and was told in SF they had no bathrooms at the station and let me tell you it was a long hour and a half . The trams arrived on time and on schedule which was great! read more

After telling the 3 stooges i mean officers i lost my clipper card after traveling from coliseum to Antioch he still decided to give me a citation. I asked if i could receive a warning due to I'm a regular rider and things happens he showed zero compassion, middle of a pandemic with every dollar count he was not for hearing anything else but what his superiors had to say. Parking fills up at 5am. Seemed like a great idea to relieve traffic, but this station is mostly for construction guys that start early in the morning. If you have a 9-5 job, forget about it. Unless you can Uber or walk to the station, your better off going to concord or even Pleasanton if your coming from Tracy or concord. read more

What the hell is the point of having a bart station here if you can't accommodate in parking?? This area isn't exactly known to have great public transport and its expected that most people drive to the station, so they should have anticipated it with at least a 3 story lot. The station is about 1/2-1 mile in from the main road with no street parking nearby so you can't even park a little further away and have a reasonable walk there. Completely incompetent management and planning. If such a tragedy happened in a private company the entire management and execs would be fired and reorganized. If you want to find parking be prepared to be here by 5am at the latest. I ended up driving to Pittsburg station for arriving at 6am. This is damn ridiculous and stupid. I'm going to start looking at carpools just to avoid this stupid transit system we call BART. Charges an arm and a leg and still run like some underfunded organization. They need to learn from Japan on how to do transit right. In fact fire these people and hire the experts from Japan I'm sure it'll be cheaper and more efficient than this crap. read more

First time at this station and got to the parking lot at 6:20am and there are no unreserved parking spots left. I live around 10 minutes away from the Antioch station. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get out of the house as early as I did before which was at 5:45am, to get to North Concord Bart Station by 6:30am. Will try again another day.
