The tacos were quite good. The carne asada was probably my favorite taco. The pork belly was good, the chicken tinga was maybe my least favorite of the four, but still pretty good. It really is as good as it gets at Bartaco. Starting with excellent service. I kind of thought going into this place. It was an order at the counter kind of taco bar since the name had the word bar in it. As we were seated our wait person recommended their special mango margarita, so of course we both got one. I got mine with a peppery Tanjin sort of rim. It was really good. We didn't think to ask what the price was so we were a little shocked when we found out it was $14 which was half of our separate bills. It was really good though, and I probably would order it again if they offered it at a happy hour price. For the tacos, which is the reason we came, I had one fish, and one mushroom. Right on the menu it says they recommend you order three tacos because they are about three bites which is very accurate. We both got two tacos because we ordered the guacamole and chips as a starter. We got the large portion which isn't really large, just like their tacos. :) Loved the guac. Loved the mushroom taco. Liked the fish taco. The manager came by to check on us and see how we were enjoying our meal and he was very friendly and courteous. We chatted for a while and he gave us each a five dollar discount card for our next visit. I plan to try their soft shell crab taco as it is almost $6.00. That's $2.00/bite. read more

" I am blessed,obsessed, and impressed with Bartaco!" Bartaco in Reston, Virginia was my all time favorite taco restaurant. I couldn't be happier when I heard the news that they were coming to Pike and Rose, which is much closer to me. I loved their creamy guacamole and chips. My granddaughter could eat a bowl of that guacamole all by herself. But, this time it wasn't her that finished off the delicious freshly made guacamole. ; ) We had a mango margarita that was really good. It wasn't too sweet and I loved the mango flavor in the margarita cocktail. Service was excellent! Thank you Aliyah! She was fabulous. I would search out her table when I go back again. She was that good. We had the opportunity to meet Alex, the manager, who was greeting tables. He was very nice. The tacos were excellent. Stopped by bartaco last month for their Margarita Month and had such a fun experience. I started at the bar with their house sangria with rum, which was amazing definitely a new favorite. For starters, I tried the rice cakes, then moved on to the coconut mojito, which was super refreshing. I love that they freshly squeezed their juices. Once seated, I ordered the drink of the week, the Yucatán mango margarita. I love mango's but not a spicy spicy cocktail girlie, however this drink had a slight kick that was surprisingly enjoyable. I also had the chips and dip and a soft crab taco, both good. To finish, I ordered the churros, which were the perfect sweet ending. Everything was amazing! It was finally nice outside, so they had the doors open which gave the whole place beachy vibes. The tacos were incredible. The menu says each taco is about 3-4 bites and recommends ordering 3-5 per person, which felt pretty accurate. Honestly, you could probably be full after four if you also get an appetizer. We tried a bunch of different tacos including the crab cake, pork belly, and carne asada, and they were all great. For appetizers we got the plantains and the tamale. The plantains were amazing and the dipping sauce was so good. The guacamole was chunky and fresh, which we loved. At first we were confused why there were so many trays on the table, but then realized all the tacos come out on one big tray and you move them onto your own little tray to eat. Came here yesterday for lunch with a friend. It was my first time and my friend had been here before. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and the music was good. In general, great ambience with good size lunch crowd. We ordered a guacamole to share which came with crispy corn tortilla shells. For main entrees, I ordered 4 tacos; sesame ribeye, carnitas, pork belly and chicken verde. My friend ordered a fish taco and ahi tuna. Guac was great and good size and all of my tacos were delicious. My friend enjoyed her choices too. She mentioned the margaritas are really good but it was lunch and we didn't want to drink. Service was great! I know the tacos are supposed to be street tacos but these were really tiny. I took a star off because they were so small and because the price is a little high for the size. This place has been revisited by me way too many times for me to even keep track. The ambiance, the food, the amazing people who work here have made coming here such an amazing experience every time. The food is amazing, especially for the price they're marked as. Upon my numerous visits, I personally recommend you, the Carnitas, Pork Belly, and the Chicken Verde tacos! (Give the Esquites a try if you love corn) One of my favorite things about this place is their selection of fresh pressed drinks. They use fresh pressed juices for all their Agua Frescas and mocktails, making them absolutely delicious. My recommendation is the Berry Colada, it reminds me of a pink starburst, but way better. One thing to note is this restaurant does NOT do reservations. I HIGHLY recommend someone to come in for the waitlist prior to visiting to avoid a huge wait time, IF you are planning on having a party bigger than 4 people. Especially at night and on the weekends. I have personally ran into an issue there where our party had to wait more than 1 hour even upon calling in advance. Although some minor errors have occurred within my visits, I do encourage patience and empathy as this is a brand new team with lots of new faces to the service industry. Every issue I have ran into was always fixed and followed with a solution. I want to personally shoutout Tuan, Stephen, Melanie, Lucia, Connie and Anthony. Been here 3 times in 1 week so you could call me a fan. Every single interaction has left me wanting to come back. Food, drinks, vibes, service, music, and atmosphere are immaculate. My list of favorites so far: pork belly tacos, sesame ribeye tacos, sangria. Guac + verde + roja and tuna poke are very solid appetizers, along with the plantains as a good choice. On my list to try next that came highly recommended: chicken verde rice bowl and green margarita! Their drinks are all made with freshly squeezed juice which you can really taste, but both their drinks and desserts are very much on the sweeter side so they're perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. We had had a team meeting here at Bartaco. We came in around happy hour. We were seated relatively quickly since there was 11 of us. We asked the server could we get happy hour specials but they said only at the bar. I talked to the manager and he said he would definitely honor happy hour special drinks for us. When you are served your tacos, the waitstaff bring out small trays of four or five tacos with everyone's orders mixed together randomly and you have to pull your taco out by hand from among a group of tacos that belong to various people. The place was packed, vibrant, and loud, I'd love to go back and dine in. I ordered the pork belly, roasted duck, carne asada, and yucatán shrimp. My favorite was the roasted duck, I really like the sweet flavor it had, I liked that the pork belly was the one taco that was kind of stuffed, the shrimp was seasoned really well, and my least favorite was the Carne Asada, the beef was chewy and dry. Coming from Los Angeles, where the restaurant scene is incredibly competitive and expectations are high, I can honestly say I could not be more impressed with this place. Everything was as perfect as a restaurant experience can possibly be. From the moment we walked in, the staff was exceptionally friendly, respectful, and attentive without ever being intrusive. The food was outstanding. The house made tacos, the fresh guacamole, and the kale Caesar salad were all phenomenal. And without any exaggeration, this was the best kale Caesar salad and the best tacos I have ever had in my life. That says a lot, especially coming from California, where I am used to top tier dining. Somehow, they exceeded my expectations by far. The green margarita was another highlight. It was fresh pressed right in front of us, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. You can truly taste the quality and care in every detail, from the ingredients to the presentation. The design and atmosphere of the restaurant were beautiful, and what really stood out was how multiple staff members checked in throughout the meal to make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated. A special thank you to the manager, Mike, and our wonderful waitress, Julia, who made our first night in town truly memorable. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, the drinks are outstanding, and the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just makes you happy. What truly sets Bartaco apart is the hospitality. Every visit, multiple managers are walking the floor checking on guests with genuine smiles. The hosts and waitstaff are unbelievably kind, the music is great, and the entire experience feels welcoming and fun. Out of six visits, last night my kids taco came out wrong, once mentioned--the manager immediately comped the entire check. That level of service is rare today. The drinks were delicious, and you could taste the fresh juice that paired wealth with their choice. The tequila was paired so well, however it was mast, and I didn't taste it, which probably means to drink with more dangerous! Our server Haley was so sweet, and kept checking on us at a really nice cadence so it felt like you were always taken care of. The planting was exceptional. Some of the best I feel as though I've ever eaten and the sauce that came with was also delicious. The tacos were just OK and for a place who has taco in their name that seems a bit challenging. We had the fish taco a free chicken taco to celebrate their 15th anniversary, a duck taco a Carne Asada taco and a pork belly taco. The Carne Asada was not like any other Carne Asada I've ever tasted, and that wasn't for the better. The duck was somewhat dry, chicken taco was shredded with no flavor, and the fish taco was overly fried. Dessert, wise we ordered tiramisu and churros. The trees were a bit hard and overly sugared, although I know most people wouldn't agree with that, but it was true, and the tiramisu was so sweet it wasn't enjoyable. I think the elements that were needing to be fixed can be fixed, and could easily get to a five star review, but it definitely needs some work to get there. The decor is gorgeous however they didn't exceptional job creating an ambience that you will sit and enjoy. Additionally, it is open until 1230, so it gives us a new late night spot at Pike Road.
