I contacted Bernard through Bartlett in Ashland. They scheduled a time to come look at the job a week later. They said they would have estimate a week later. I waited for their estimate. I followed up when they said it would be ready. No one would respond. After days of jerking me around, I am told they can't do the job. The team here is extremely unprofessional and do not know how to run a business. Save yourself some time and contact another landscaper/arborist. read more

I was forced to work with the Ashland office due to my location. Had first called the Waltham office. Night and day in terms of attitude and communication. The young sales guy from Ashland was pleasant enough. He drew up a plan and I committed on the spot. I wanted root-stimulating treatment for a row of arborvitaes planted a year ago. Two people showed up unannounced to do the work. I happened to be home. One of the two was doing all the work while his colleague observed him. Turns out it was his second week on the job and his counterpart was the company's trainer. And it was a Wednesday. Just be honest and tell the client what is happening. Communication is key. Later that day I noticed they had a piece of equipment sticking up in my yard near the street. I called the office and a hostile woman denied that Bartlett could have left it. She demanded I prove it belonged to them. Seriously? No other company was doing work here! I emailed her but the email bounced back. After the weekend I left a voice mail and sent another email to the general office mailbox. No response. I didn't want to recycle a perfectly good tool. So I called the kinder, gentler, more professional Waltham office. Sent them the photo and they took the time to confirm it was indeed a piece of equipment from Bartlett. Six days later this pipe was picked up. I could have just taken it to the recycling center. No one would have known. Thought I was doing the right thing for Bartlett and the environment. No gratitude. In fact, when my sales guy returned post-new baby absence, he told me he had heard I'd called the office a lot. I asked him to come take a look at the one deciduous tree that had been treated and didn't seem to be responding. When he had first come to give me a quote, he had said, "We don't ask for payment until you are happy with the work." He agreed to swing by on a Friday afternoon. I waited here. He never showed. That evening I messaged and he said an emergency had come up and he would stop by on Monday. Never showed on that Monday. Twice a no-show. I reached out to Waltham, asking if this is normal and acceptable. Sales guy sent a email that had nothing to do with the purpose of his stopping by. I clarified. He did finally come back today. I thought we could move forward. He was not direct. They do not want my business. I finally got that out of him. Win-win. I am totally unimpressed with the how the Ashland office does business and engages with customers. Do not recommend. Better companies abound. read more

Julian Reese and his team were efficient and professional as they performed tree work on our property in Shirley, MA. This work included installing support cables on several very large, mature trees, trimming and removing branches, removing a tree overhanging the house as well as a large dead one near the road, and cleaning up and getting rid of all debris. One of our oak trees was slow in leafing out becoming later and later each year. We called Bartlett early last summer and it was very easy to set up a consultation. would not recommend this company based on one employee. As we were driving in a plain sight funeral procession through Ashland to bury our family member one particular employee cut us off and proceeded to yell and scream at anyone beeping at him and gave us the finger as he left our line. Great way to show respect to one of your own community members. If they act like this I can only imagine the disrespect they show their customers. read more
