Meh. First they came out and did an assessment. Then forgot to send me a bid so I reached out after several weeks of hearing nothing. When it finally happened, they did a great job removing two, medium sized oak trees. However, I've since realized they charge 3 times higher (no exaggeration) than other tree removal services in the area who do just as good of a job. read more

Bartlett was recommended to me by my neighbor on the Mesa and I had them handle some tree trimming work last summer. I have not been getting my trees pruned regularly, so there has been some branch failures over the years. Anthony really left an impact with me with his knowledge, and he did not shy away from pushing back on some of my requests that he thought would not be productive (something other arborists simply said yes to). When the work was underway, the crew was prompt and professional. Most importantly, they did a great job cleaning up the leaves and branches in my neighbors' yards, and have been respectful towards them. The most problematic tree branches have held out a couple of storms and so far I am pleased with the work. The only criticism I can think of is that communication between when Anthony first visited my yard and scheduling an appointment was a bit spotty. I understand that last year has been a very busy year for them, and considering the quality of the job that really isn't much of a ground to leverage any complaint. read more

This was our first experience with an arborist and I always do research before hiring companies. Bartlett is rated A+ with bbb.org and no complaints. They have good ratings on Google as well. They service a wide area and have a better scheduling service than other places I researched. Bartlett Tree Experts scheduled the perfect arborist to help save our 30+ year old Magnolia tree, which was loosing an abnormal amount of leaves. Tony is very knowledgeable and professional. He took various ground and tree samples to have tested. He gave us some great advice on intermediary steps to take while samples were being tested - deep watering, clearing 2-3 feet of grass around trunk for air circulation, cutting back certain limbs and only enough to avoid shock, etc. Once Tony diagnosed the problems with our Magnolia, Bartlett scheduled very experienced and professional technicians that chemically treated our tree two times over this past year. We were concerned about infringing on our neighbors lawn since the root system is wide spread; however, they were more than capable to treat our tree without infringing on our neighbors lawn. Now our Magnolia has lots of new deep glossy green leaves and tons of white blossoms ready to bloom. Thank you Bartlett, Tony, and staff for helping to save our beautiful Magnolia tree!!! read more

Today on the way to my sons house I was stopped at the 3 way stop on Jameson and Sheffield. A young man had car trouble and was pushing his car out of the intersection. A Bartlett Tree service truck pulled up and without hesitation two men jumped out and ran to help push the car to safety!! Bartlett did some work on a neighbor's yard and the work was done unprofessionally and without care. We spoke with Bartlett prior to the job being done as some of the work involved portions of a tree hanging over our property. We were assured by Bartlett that nothing would happen to the plants in our yard and that they would take care to ensure that the tree was handled properly. Unfortunately, none of this ended up being true, we came home to parts of the tree in various spots in our yard and a number of our plants and tree were completely destroyed. We were appalled. We took photos and immediately notified Bartlett. It was not until months later that they came in to replace our damaged landscaping and trees. I would NOT recommend using Bartlett. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is that when they finally did replace what they damaged, the guys who came in to put in the new plants were pleasant and seemed nice so it's out of guilt for the workers that I added one star but otherwise, I would say ZERO. read more

My wife met with one of Bartlett's arborists last Wednesday to walk our property and get a general idea of the work we need done. The appointment went well and my wife was happy with what was discussed. The arborist she met with mentioned he would have an estimate to her by last Friday. It is now the following Wednesday, a week after they walked the property, and the estimate still hasn't been sent out. My wife emailed the arborist and their secretary on Monday to check on the status of the estimate and discuss some additional work we wanted done, but hasn't received a response yet, two days later. Bartlett Tree Experts pruned a very large oak grove on our property. The pruning was somewhat complicated because the Oaks bordered a deep creek/ravine. From the first meeting with Tony to the completion of a two day job, every aspect was handled with professionalism and great care. Horrible Customer Service Think twice about calling Bartlett Tree Experts. Called Bartlett Tree Experts to come and look at some trees I believed had health issues. Spoke with Amanda who informed me that someone wouldn't be available to come and look until the following week Tuesday 03/15/2016. We schedule the appointment. The day of the appointment Amanda called and said no one was available to come look at the trees and asked if we could reschedule for Friday in the morning. after booking yet another appointment Amanda emails me asking to change my time from 9am to between 1pm & 2:30pm because she overbooked appointments. Already annoyed but willing to move forward. Day of the appointment I come home early from work to meet the tree expert. I wait until 2:50pm and no one ever shows up. I call Amanda and ask her why no one showed up and she said "they did about 30 minutes ago, knocked on the door and no one was home...The trees looked drought effected and were in too small of a planter. I was in the living room with the front door open for the past 2 hours. the trees are watered despite the drought, and they are not in a planter... Bartlett Tree experts are completely unprofessional and liars. I would never recommend them to anyone for anything. I NEVER write Yelp reviews, so for me to write this your service was obviously horrible. I also believe their positive reviews here on Yelp are not customers. read more

Freddie was very personable and accommodating. He took the time to explain his work. He was even very careful with the Bartlett truck.

I had 10 trees in our yard that needed to be cut down. I got 5 different estimates on doing the work. I did have to wait a little while for someone from Bartlett to be available for an estimate but I wasn't in a hurry so it didn't bother me. I got a thorough estimate of what needed to be done in our yard and Sterling was kind enough to itemize all the different projects so I was able to pick which we could afford to do right away. The quote for removing the 10 trees was the lowest of all 5 companies so I went with them. They scheduled the work for the following week. A 3-person crew showed up on time, worked about 5 hours and did a very professional job. They cleaned up the yard and even cleaned up the neighbors yard where things fell over the fence. They were polite and efficient and I will use them again for additional work. Very satisfied. read more

I'm so surprised to read the previous reviews about Bartlett. Maybe happy people don't write reviews? My experience with them was excellent. I got an appointment quickly; Bob the arborist showed up on time and was informative and honest (and he has a great sense of humor!). He told me I didn't have to cut down a tree I was concerned about; instead, he recommended trimming and feeding. He recommended a different plan for each specific tree - and shared the reasons for each treatment. He even gave me advice on how I could feed my own palm trees to help them grow. Bob emailed me a detailed proposal by the end of the day. Once the crews showed up to do the work, they worked HARD and were respectful of us and our property, cleaning up after every tree was trimmed/treated. Bob showed up each day before his crew arrived, to review the work previously done and make sure we were satisfied. When I added additional, smaller jobs during our walk-throughs, Bob was amenable and accommodating. It has been three months since Bartlett was here...my trees are happy, green and thriving. The company gave us a grossly overestimated quote on tree-trimming; the actual job was in fact nearly half of the estimate. Upon being questioned about the excessive charge, the company reduced the bill only by a small fraction, citing such billable time as the worker's packing up the truck and driving to our home. We were unaware of the fact that we were being charged (for the unverifiable amount of time) even before the worker set foot in our place. I find the service here great. They have truly knowledgable people to do trimming. The arborists provide thorough and professional assessment to many problems, as well as supply a variety of solutions. Also, if something is really not worth doing, they will tell you. They have worked with my own gardener to educate him about tree maintenance and care. I have a variety of trees and some very old specimens on my property and have received nothing but terrific service! read more
