Actually gets surprised by people eating inside. The prices are okay for portions. Basic stuff on the menu as you can imagine. It's got a lot of the classics such as pizza and spaghetti. They assume most are getting takeout. Came in and was planning to get it to go. Then we were able to sit at a table. It's about $10 for a plate of pasta. Then you add a few toppings. I got the classic Spaghetti Marinara. Lots of stuff on the plate. It came with a humongous piece of garlic bread. This made us get full quickly. For sure it's great for quick bites. It's closed Mondays. This is located on Central Avenue in a strip plaza so it's not authentic but it's still okay though.

We waited until March then looked for a venue to renew vows and have a celebratory meal with family and friends. As we both had been to Bella Mia several times together it was a short search. We originally planned the event with a former employee who left the restaurant as the date, (March 21st), was approaching. Randy the owner then took over. He made several suggestions different from what we'd originally planned, including changing the area of the renewal of vows and where our wedding officiate would be in front of the guests, but they turned out to be perfect!! The event was nothing short of fantastic! My wife had tears in her eyes much of the service! The food was spectacular, and everyone raved about it! Randy and his staff gave us a wedding to remember, and we are eternally grateful for what Bella Mia did for us and couldn't be happier that was the venue we chose!!!

Servers who care about your business because the business itself is more than just a part time job. The restaurant is quaint, and is perfectly suited for either a date night or a full-on family function. Their side room is plant big enough to host a private party or event, and I know they often book that room for exactly that. But the real focus for us is the pizza. The pans that are used over and over again. The buttery crust that is always crispy and not too think. The ripe tomatoes that are always seasoned perfectly... the real of the show at Louisa's is their sausage. It's literally like none other we've ever had and we love it!! I ordered it medium‑rare, and it arrived with a gray center. They did offer to re‑cook it, but I wasn't about to go through that. There's simply no way to cook a steak that thin like an actual steak, so I didn't even bother letting them try again. The place was practically empty on a Friday night--just one older man and a couple tucked away in a corner. Honestly, the empty parking lot should've been our warning. Total fail. Never again.

My partner ordered a mocha. He said it was good. Parking: They have a shared lot out front and we were able to find a space without issue. We ordered thru Goldbelly and were so excited in advance, given what seems to be predominantly rave reviews on the I-net. This was the most disappointing pizza we have ever had, and we eat a lot of pizza from around the globe. The 4 pies did arrive nicely packed, but it ends there. A deep dish "pepperoni" had one slice of pepperoni above the sauce (my husband assured me that was for their packaging purposes and we'd find more under the sauce layer, but nope, ZERO pepperoni. ZERO seasoning.) It was just a mouthful of 'awful' stringy goo in every bite. I love cheese, but man, this pizza consisted of just a big glob of melted, tasteless cheese with some ladled, tasteless red sauce on top - again, I cannot impress enough the lack of flavor or seasoning - and a thick surrounding crust so hard, dry and tasteless that we thought for sure it was part of the cardboard packaging. You couldn't even cut through or bite the crust. And yes, we followed the baking directions to a T, so it was nothing on our end. We paid an enormous price for mounds of an inferior-quality cheese with sauce that I can find better in a Prego jar. Save your money and go buy a hunk of mozzarella and jarred pizza sauce for about $5, melt it in the microwave, and it will surpass this style of "Chicago deep dish." read more

I haven't written a Yelp review for years, but my husband and I had a phenomenal experience at Bartolini's last night!! We were in the area and searched yellow pages for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. This was a "local favorite" and now we know why! Our server was excellent and, despite being new, was perfectly attentive without being at the table too much. The food was just amazing and I actually sit here writing this review with my reheated leftovers of my Build-Your-Own pasta in front of me (I ordered gluten free pasta with carbonara sauce and spinach, broccoli, and mushrooms). The server let me know that the sauce does have gluten in it (which I'd give extra points because people who have Celiac's would need to know that!) but I only have been cutting back and am not outright allergic to gluten. It reheated perfectly and smells and tastes exactly like it did when we got it fresh to our table. My husband loved his lake perch and we even got a Hawaiian pizza to go (that's his favorite kind) to enjoy today). We give this restaurant and its staff 5 stars for sure!! Perfect place to take out your family for some good food in a casual setting. Almost every time I've been there one of the owners (Dom or Chris) come out to greet the customers. I have tried something new almost every trip, and have yet to be disappointed. (That goes for breakfast, lunch and dinner) It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it would be the Eggs Benedict for breakfast and the Meatball Sandwich for lunch/dinner of course. Their daily pasta specials are also a great place to find something good that is not on the everyday menu. Don't forget to see Shelly at the bar while you are their either! I have been going to this place for almost 5 years now and it gets better every time. Bartolini's being featured on Food Network, Travel Channel, Chicago's Best, and the Steve Harvey show is just a testament to the reputation that they have built, but I'm still glad I can say I knew about Bartolini's before it was famous! read more

We stopped by on the way back to Indiana from O'Hare after a quick search on yelp. A great find! On a Friday night we were seated almost immediately and we both ordered a calzone with the warning that it could take at least 20 minutes. While it ended up taking a bit closer to 30 minutes we got updates from our waitress and she kept our drinks topped off. The calzones were delicious and we both had leftovers to take home. As we were finishing Chris, one of the owners, stopped by to see how things were, always a nice touch! While I didn't try any beer there was a large list of locals brews listed on the wall and I did see a couple people getting flights. One last thing to know, it's not a quiet place, it's loud but only because there are so many people there talking and having a good time, lots of kids on the night we were there as well. We'll be sure to stop by the next time we are in the area!! read more

My experience with Bartolinis came when I was planning my parents 25th wedding anniversary and needed to book a reasonably priced banquet hall. I had called a few places but had a lot of trouble getting a call back, lucky for me someone from Bartolinis was available. The person was very attentive to my needs and was even able to make a few wonderful suggestions. I was a bit hesitant having never tried the food but I decided to roll the dice. Well needless to say by my rating but the party went off wonderfully. The room was more than big enough for our party of about 70. The food was excellent, I highly recommend the chicken. The service was attentive but never in the way and the owners came by to check on things a number of times. My parents could not thank us enough for an unforgettable party which is the best review I can give. Can't wait to go back and try the restaurant portion. read more

WATCH YOUR PURSE!!! Was at this "Gem" of a Restaurant, in the banquet side, for a Baby Shower. Food was great, Interior is small but very welcoming, Very nice family owned business, Until..., while opening Presents, It was found that one of the Wait Staff was rifling through a Purse while busing a table in the Banquet Room less then five feet away from Guests.... BOLD THIEF... She was actually CAUGHT WITH HER HAND IN THE PURSE BY ONE OF THE GUESTS....But because it was not caught ON CAMERA...SHE CONTINUES TO WORK THERE...Literally... minutes after being caught RED HANDED, was still working her station!?!?!?! Even though she was caught before she stole anything, I still consider her a SNEAKY THIEF!! What other intent is there in picking through SOMEONE ELSE'S PERSONALLY BELONGINGS! So, Diners beware.... I have know the owners since they opened in the plaza in 1995 and I have nothing but great respect for them. They have grown their businees over the years to what it is now and they make a point of knowing their customers and greeting them, it is a very family oriented atmosphere with good food and drink. There are those that have to complain and voice their opinions in a very negative manner, but that is all part of the business world, some people just cannot be pleased. I enjoy all types of food and have found everything that they serve to be of great taste and value for the money. Of course there are times when you get something you do not like and that is hwen with repect to the owners you bring it to their attention and they will do their very best to rectify the situation and please you. Quite honestly in my experience the food has ranged from "good" (chicken Caesar) to flat out lousy (calamari was like rubber bands). The chicken I ordered most recently would've been excellent had they changed their shortening in recent days... but equally if not even more important as far as I'm concerned is service. I assume it's one of the owners - this guy is flat out arrogant. He has talked to me like I'm A piece of dirt -both in person and over the phone. he seems to have a rapport with other customers but apparently that treatment is reserved for regulars. I guess I'll never know because I'm done with this joint. Some people apparently just don't sense the need to continue to build their business and I guess this guy is one of them. read more

I love this place! The big guy on top, Dominic...is awesome :) He shares my love for quality food and he is very friendly. The service of Dora (hope that's right) was very good. I always love when someone comes to check on you and refill your glass asap without you having to hunt them down. Now let's get to the food. It was delicious!!! I've driven past there and never stopped. Now I am thinking of all the great food I've been missing out on. Bartolini's is literally right across the street from my house. This restaurant is one of the best I have been to. Their food is delicious and everything they serve is great. I have tried almost everything in their menu and every time I order something I haven't had I always walk out very happy. Their breakfast is like nothing I have tasted before. I love the fact that the owners are always greeting and very friendly, they walk from table to table to see how everyone is doing. This place is awesome!! Chris, Dominic and staff were more than accommodating as my fiance and I planned to have our wedding ceremony and reception at their facility. Only days before our wedding date we got an overwhelming response of guests and had to request a bigger area; which they did without hesitation. The banquet halls are beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was the guest's favorite. I've been to Bartolini's a number of times and every time the food was great! Everyone working there is always very friendly. More then once, the owners have come up to my family's table to see how we were enjoying our food. I always thought that was pretty cool of them to take a break, especially because the restaurant has always been full! Fabulous...once again! Had a surprise 60th Birthday party catered by Bartolini's on 4/26/14. The guests were more interested in where the food came from than they were interested in the surprise. The food was delivered on time, piping hot and the hit of the party. We also go there for the BBQ chicken pizza and the blackened chicken sandwich, unbelievably good. I had my wedding shower at Bartolini's this past fall, and the food was AMAZING!!! My family and friends just loved the food, the cheesy potatoes were the biggest hit! Whereas some restaurants make you get two of the exact same thing I was able to get two different dinners I chose the chicken tetrazzini and the chicken cacciatore. I also chose to get soup which is an add-on, which was cream of potato, their cucumber, tomato, and onion salad. Would you buy by the pint and with the dinners I added it on a salad, which I know was an up charge, but I really don't know how much extra it was now for the food. It arrived and under an hour and everything was hot as though I ate it there, which is very unusual for most of my deliveries anywhere. The individual salads are a good size and the lettuce looked fresh. It also is garnished with onion and cherry tomatoes. The potato soup was on the thick side. I would prefer it a little thinner, but I was saving it for another day so I'll just send it out before I reheat it. The cucumber, tomato onion salad could've used a little more dressing sometimes it's gotten a lot more sitting in the bottom, but this time it wasn't. The chicken and the chicken cacciatore was too nice sized chicken breast sitting on a bed of mostaccioli with the kids to sauce, which is a tomato based wine sauce with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions. I don't eat mushrooms or green peppers so I had the moment however the chicken was so tender and tasty. It was one of the best things I've had in a long time. The chicken tetrazzini I was saving for the next day meal, but just for sake of argument I wanted to taste it because sometimes I wait till another day when I've ordered something and then find out somethings wrong with it. This two was a good portion. It was a nice amount of sauce to noodles. This chicken is diced, and this two has mushrooms and onions in it however, again I left the mushrooms out and then it has a thin layer of mozzarella cheese melted across the top. For everything I got I thought it was a good deal the portion sizes one dinner would've been enough for two people. The chicken Ketura easily could've fed two people. The chicken tetrazzini could as well, especially if you have a salad or soup as a side or even the cucumber, tomato onion salad. Their delivery charge is only three dollars, which is a bargain nowadays, but do you have food delivered this hat and fresh was awesome. I've read some of the reviews about people eating at the restaurant. I've beaten at the restaurant. I agree it is a little dated. I've never had an issue with flies anymore so than other restaurants that I've eaten in especially during summer months service has been good. I've enjoyed their pizza on Mondays. It's 25% off. Their beef sandwiches are excellent and on Thursdays those are special as well and Tuesday it's the other pasta dishes, such as lasagna and mostaccioli, etc. the specials are good. The portions are generous and I think it's worth giving it a try.
