This was a nice place to stay just outside the busy port of Los Angeles. The hotel is older, but…read morethey have amazing marina views and it's in a pretty peaceful spot. The hotel corridors are a long maze, but once you find your room, you're in for a comfy stay and a scenic place to eat your fresh baked, Double Tree cookies...! The bar area was nice and they stayed open late. The hotel breakfast was not worth what they're charging for the buffet. It's Hampton Inn caliber at premium prices. All in all I'd stay here again, but have begun to notice that Hilton is not updating their properties very often. Although almost a "Diamond for Life" I'm gravitating more and more to Marriott properties after re-achieving Diamond status for the year. Marriotts have upped their game and have some gorgeous places to stay with modern accommodations which has now become a reason not to stay at Hilton properties...! This resort honestly belongs in Hilton's Curio collection. It's much like the old Embassy Suites in Port Hueneme, it didn't resemble another Embassy Suites on the planet so ultimately became a Curio collection named Zachari Dunes. This Double Tree will remind you of no other like it, but still a cool place to stay!

Stayed here for a few days for business. Upon pulling up to…read morethe venue, the layout and location reminded me of a hacienda-style resort I stayed at in Costa Rica. I was immediately filled with nostalgia and excitement to have a comfortable stay. However, my excitement was short-lived and immediately crushed by disappointed as I got a whiff of a terrible mildew stench upon reaching the sliding door entrance, which was very noticeable throughout the building. The facility could clearly use an upgrade.... in everything -- paint, carpet, furniture, curtains, coffee maker, lack of mini fridge to name a few. It's a shame because this place has every potential to be a nice hotel. It is located at a tranquil marina with ample good eats and a walkable park and beach nearby. Safe to say that we will not be staying here ever again. And you shouldn't either. Spend your hard earned money somewhere else. Two positives to note: 1) free warm cookies (upon request) 2) friendly housekeeping and maintenance staff (unfortunately, we didn't experience the same warmth and friendliness from the front desk staff)

The jets in the jacuzzi are powerful. I got to try out the next day. Restaurant looked nice. There is also a market if you want to grab something quick. Staff are great. Drop keys in box for check-out. Not bad for one night stay.

I put a lot of trust in their word since they've previously stayed at this specific hotel a few times and they choice was perfect. Driving from the bay to Southern California was a whole trip in itself with two kids and the last thing we wanted to do was to rush the moment we got in the car and into the hotel. That being said, we decided to stay two nights prior to embarkation day. We wanted to walk in, get settled after the 7 (=/-) hour drive and relax. The hotel had everything we needed - a full kitchen, a clean and perfectly running shower, clean and comfortable beds and a wonderful view. The proximity of the hotel to the port was perfect. All eight of us were able to get our belongings together and not stress on getting parking. The continental breakfast was great as well. The staff was beyond amazing and during one of our nights we were able to watch the UFC fight downstairs in the lobby with a crew of construction workers. One of the staff attendants gave my girls crayons and coloring paper. She sat down and helped them with their art and it was honestly precious.

When I asked where our 5th person was supposed to sleep, as we were charged $20 for having an extra person (and ok ages were input so you could easily see we had no infants or children under 5) I was told to pay $30 extra for a roll away bed. Then the air conditioning in the room kept showing an error code and did not work our entire stay. There was only 2 towels in the room and the hand soap was empty. When we asked for more the gentleman rudely rolled his eyes, slammed the door behind him and then brought the items back to me. We had stayed here before with no problems or issues but this time was so unpleasant we definitely won't be back. So to recap, we have rude guest services, an AC that did not work, not enough towels, empty hand soap, and treated like an inconvenience when they didn't make the room up properly. Do better Sir. As a business owner myself, this is not how you get return customers.

(it was a cool out, and there were ceiling fans, but, it would have been nice to run the air con to cool down a stuffy closed up room for a few). If it were hot it woulda been pretty gross. -OMG the bathroom "door". I mean, seriously, WTF? A weird barn door situation that wasn't actually big enough to cover the bathroom. You could easily see into the "closed" the door if you tried. For real that door is a problem!!!!! You totally want your roommates to watch you poop and shower, right?? -Barking dog the ENTIRE time. Neighbor? Hotel? Not sure, but, there was dog crap on the walkway between office and room.... The So-So /Pricey for what it was, but, the room WAS big, had 2 ceiling fans, a separate "bedroom", desk, couch, TV, fridge, etc. For all that money maybe they could buy a real door. /It was clean-ish. My bedding was clean but seemed...old....other bed was clean but seemed newer. Sofa was pretty beat. Floor was...not pristine but not awful. At least it's not old sketch carpeting. /Spacious bathroom, with light up mirror - ZERO hooks or counter space. Would I book again? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes-ish - with full warnings of all the quirks. It HAS been fully remodeled. A bit strangely, but, fully remodeled. Any dank brown carpet nasty photos you see are no longer how it looks. So, there is that. So if the really really awful older reviews scare you, it's definitely changed from then.

Ton of fast food options within few blocks, walkable Cons- Walls are thin and can be loud. Tv doesn't work well, very old should be replaced, controller lagged or does not respond. And then sometimes the tv screen is stuck on no connection status, seriously can't rely on using it. Wi-Fi doesn't always connect. Good sushi restaurant right next door literally you can get quick food back to hotel, would eat there again too

The front desk said there was nothing they could do for 3 days as they had no other rooms , even though it was obvious there were many other open rooms. We spent $100 to clear the air with candles and an air purifier. The manager offered a 20% per night discount and then at the end did not honor the discount at checkout. The manager even had the nerve to say i should not have spent my $100 because it was the hotels reasonability to fix the smell. what a joke they did nothing to help. To add to ot the AC was not working properly. overall we checked out early and the Manager asked if I was stupid and did not honor anything he promised. I would give a 0 star rating if possible.

Staff was nice and held my bags while I explored the area before check in. Decently clean; not as gross as others have said but yes, a bit run down. I think it is on par with budget hotels these days. Room had double lock; felt safe Shower was warm and toilet worked. Bed was okay. Comfortable but could hear the plastic mattress cover right under the sheets when moving about. Cons: No soap. Or shampoo. I've never seen that. My room had no remote. I asked for one. It turned on the sound but no picture. I gave up. No elevator; steps in and steps to many rooms. This was on the website so I wasn't surprised. One pillow per person and one small towel per person. No mini fridge and no ice available. Skunk sprayed outside so room has smelled all day/night (coming in through air conditioner; 1st floor room) Someone has been getting sick outside the room for the past half hour. Daytime had lots of noise from nearby homes, kids, music, banging as though someone was putting up siding All in all, it's safe, inexpensive, and no frills. I am staying one night before a cruise. We booked this Motel 6 based on the photos and amenities advertised online, but unfortunately our…read moreexperience was very different from what was represented. The photos used in the listing do not accurately reflect the actual condition of the property. One of our biggest concerns was parking. There is no dedicated hotel parking lot, only limited street parking that is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We were also unable to find a single designated handicap parking space. As the spouse of a disabled veteran, accessibility is extremely important to us. We found the property to be difficult to navigate and not particularly handicap-friendly. We also discovered that many of the electrical outlets were so loose that my husband's CPAP machine could not remain plugged in reliably, which is a serious issue for someone who depends on medical equipment while sleeping. Because of these concerns, we made the decision to cancel our stay before check-in. We actually visited the property the day before our scheduled arrival specifically to make sure it would meet our needs. After seeing the conditions in person, we knew it would not be suitable. Despite providing more than 24 hours' notice and never occupying the room, the property refused to refund our reservation. We are now having to dispute the charge through our credit card company. Had the property been accurately represented online and provided the accessibility features we reasonably expected, we never would have made the reservation in the first place.
