Be advised, you will see some confederate flags on bumpers and such. Internet is non existent, or very very weak.....won't even pull emails. The roads in the park are rutted with deep holes and they have a tall speed bump, so batten down the hatches, because at 5 MPH, that bump will throw your rig around.....40 bucks a night to have locals stare at you and spit chew. So, no, never again. Besides,the oaks don't "whisper" they pelt your rig with acorns, loud obnoxious acorns, 24/7. Every site has multiple oak trees.

Everything everywhere was neat and clean. Sunshine at the front reception had a very bubbly and helpful personality. There are several different things to do while you are here. I liked exploring the woods that led to a small waterfall . It smelled so fresh and new because of all the greenery. I felt so far from civilization but wasn't. It was only about $40 a day with water and power hook up. You can get a sewer hookup for $10 more but the dump station is free down the path not too far from the campsites. I am looking forward to returning here. I love the peacefulness and tranquility of the place. I just wish I could of jumped in the lake for a swim but I don't think that is allowed. The stream in the woods was very cool and refreshing though. I love this place!

It was extremely frustrating as the bathrooms were next to the RVs (which tends to have bathrooms in their vehicles) and nothing available for Tent Camping or anything else

I have never been to such an unprofessional place in my life and HIGHLY recommend you PASS IT UP! They will verbally attack you and threaten violence. We ranged in age of 2-70. How we deserved such treatment after making arrangements, is beyond me. No one was drunk except the said owner's boyfriend and "crew." Beware of this place folks. Sorry Yelp... Individually, the sites were nice but not the best the state has to offer, but when one considers the sum total of various environs and the fact that Tennessee state parks do not charge admission, I struggle to criticize. I noted that a park ranger gently pushed someone to leash their dog on the trail without getting into a confrontation.

Visited with my husband and 3 kids (ages 4, 3, and 20 months) on a holiday weekend around 9 a.m…read more There are two entrances -- we used the one off Franklin Rd. This parking lot is smaller, but we were surprised to find a spot easily. When we left around 10:45, there was a line of about 6 cars waiting, though cars seemed to move through fairly quickly. There is a nice bathroom at the top of the parking lot. From this entrance, you can also access the trail along the lake, though strollers and dogs are not allowed on that trail. We chose the lower paved trail instead (part of the mulch trail loop). It's wide -- almost road-sized -- and newly paved the entire way. It took about 15 minutes to reach the lake, and there's plenty more paved trail beyond that. We saw frogs, ducks, turtles, deer, an owl, and even a bald eagle. My kids stayed engaged the whole time. The trail was flat and easy for stroller pushing, and my older kids rode scooters without any issues. There were lots of families, dogs, and walkers out, but it never felt overcrowded. Overall, this is a great near-the-city option for getting young kids into nature without dealing with steep terrain. The other entrance off Granny White has the visitor center and a bit more parking.

If you stop…read morein the Visitor Center, they have maps and written directions on how to hit the highlights easily. You can view different falls, cascades, flow stones, and more from short distance strolls to overlooks, or delve deeper into the gorge for a closer view. Swimming is not permitted except in certain areas, so take notice, people have drowned here. Be careful when hiking and exploring the floor of the gorge as the dam can release water with limited warning. That being said, the Twin Falls and Great Falls are lovely, and the diverse landscape keeps the walk extremely interesting! Me and the dog did the Upstream and Downstream trails on the Twin Falls side, and the Gorge Trail on the Great Falls side, and while Dianne, they are steep and slippery, so wear proper shoes!
